  • Patent number: 7905496
Abstract: A seal device, which accommodates axial displacement between a housing and shaft of an item of rotating equipment, includes a stator which locates into the housing of a piece of rotating equipment. A first rotor locates on the shaft of the rotating equipment and a second rotor is rotationally coupled to the first rotor with the first rotor being permitted to axially float with respect to the second rotor. The device provides sealing integrity when the shaft is both idle and operational. The sealing device may be used, for instance, in a double ended centrifugal pump where shaft displacement occurs from thermal expansion.

  • Patent number: 7052014
Abstract: The assembly includes rotor and stator elements each having an inclined plane or surface juxtaposed to each other. This is a metallic assembly and the rotor and stator also have juxtaposed cavities. The stator cavity being of sufficient size to accommodate a sealing member. The inclined surfaces are flexed with the inclined plane or surface of the rotor forced over the inclined plane or surface of the stator to lock the rotor and stator together with the sealing member enclosed between the rotor and stator. The sealing member does not rotate with the stator. The seal contains at least one labyrinth formed with the rotor and stator, are adjacent each other and lock together.

  • Patent number: 6814356
Abstract: A mount construction for a bearing seal is capable of easily and surely installing the bearing seal in a bearing and, after installation, developing a stable seal performance by suppressing an extracting force. The bearing seal, formed by disposing an elastic member having a lip part on one side face of a reinforcement ring, is press-fitted into a ring body or radially reduced ring body in a state where the lip part is bent in a direction away from the outer peripheral edge of the reinforcement ring on the elastic member side of the bearing seal. While maintaining this state, the bearing seal is extruded from the inside of the ring body or the radially reduce ring into the bearing with care so that the lip part is not caught between the reinforcement ring and the bearing is installed on the bearing.
