Internal Cone Patents (Class 279/120)
  • Patent number: 10792736
Abstract: A lightweight intelligent top-tooling device integrates with an instrument. The instrument can be a sensing device. The instrument is placed inside a part of the lightweight intelligent top-tooling device during manufacturing process. The lightweight intelligent top-tooling device includes a locator and three top-jaws. The locator is engaged to a chuck of a metal cutting tool when assembled. The top-jaws attached to the locator are adapted to grip a workpiece. The lightweight intelligent top-tooling device is manufactured by a 3D printer. A 3D model of a part of the lightweight intelligent top-tooling device is first created. The 3D model is sliced into layers. The 3D printer prints out the layers of the lightweight intelligent top-tooling device. Media journals are created and the sensing device is placed during the printing process. The lightweight intelligent top-tooling device is printed with composite materials. One type of composite material is CFRP.

  • Patent number: 8220805
Abstract: [Problems] A gripping method for a turbocharger housing and a work gripping device that can accurately grip an inner diameter using a reference for shape during casting when processing. [Means for Solving Problems] In a gripping method of a turbocharger housing W, an end surface Y of a large diameter hole 22 facing a small diameter hole 25 is used for positioning in an axial direction. The inner diameter of the large diameter hole 22 is then gripped. A work gripping device 1 includes a cylindrical body 2, a plunger 3 that moves back and forth along an axial direction of the body 2, a jaw 4 that moves in a radial direction of the body 2 in tandem with the plunger 3, and a pusher 6 that presses the work W in a direction away from the body 2 in accompaniment with movement of the plunger 3. The jaw 4 includes a gripping surface 24 that grips the work W and a contact surface 5 that projects in an outward radial direction from an end edge of the gripping surface 24 away from the body 2.

  • Patent number: 8016298
Abstract: The invention relates to a chuck for flexible manufacturing, said chuck comprising a chuck body, a central draw head guided axially in a central hole of the chuck body and connected to inner jaws radially guided in the chuck body through a straight-wedge mechanism, and outer jaws also radially guided in the chuck body and adapted to be equipped with chuck jaws for chucking a work-piece and to be engaged with coupling heads through rack teeth. The coupling heads are built in the inner jaws and guided axially therein, wherein said coupling heads comprise a double locking coupling device. The first locking stage of said coupling device includes wedge-shaped control members fixed to a control ring, whereas the second locking stage includes an additional locking member directly connected to the control ring. The chuck body is in the form of a one-piece unit, wherein the control ring is encased by the chuck body and the rear centering disc so that the control ring can be rotated there-between.

  • Patent number: 7284760
Abstract: Semiconductor technology requires the use of object holders, which are capable of holding wafers securely, also during rotation. In order to save time and expense, such holders should be suitable for integration directly into a processing facility, wherever possible. According to the invention it is proposed to provide centrally mounted holders which comprise support surfaces for the wafer and pivotable gripper fingers, in which the gripper fingers are pretensioned by means of at least one pretension element in the holding position and are actuated through one opening mechanism, in which at least one opening mechanism and at least one pretension element are integrated in the central clamping arm fixture and/or in the clamping arms.

  • Patent number: 4667970
Abstract: Chuck provides for each jaw an action bar extending substantially longitudinally of the chuck axis and rockable in an action plane radiating from the chuck axis and intersecting the jaw, and a pair of first and second slides for each action bar, with said slides being guided for movement in the associated action plane in opposite directions normal to the chuck axis, with the first slide pivotally supporting the bar intermediate its ends about an axis normal to the action plane, the second slide having with one end of the bar a floating pivot connection with its pivot axis extending normal to the action plane, and the other end of the bar having with the jaw a floating pivot connection with its pivot axis extending normal to the action plane, so that on moving the first slide relative to the other slide in opposite directions the bar is rocked about its floating pivot connection with the second slide as a fulcrum for opening and closing the jaw, and on moving the second slide relative to the first slide in opp
