Abstract: It is an object of the invention to provide a tap holder in which even when an error is brought about in synchronizing spindle feeding and rotation of a tapper body and a tap collet of a tap holder in correspondence with a machine tool spindle, the synchronization can be established by absorbing the error by a simple constitution. As means therefor, the tap holder is characterized in that a tapper body and a tap collet are inserted by a locking member at portions of the tapper body and the tap collet overlapping each other, and the tap collet is fixed to the tapper body by engaging the locking member with at least one of the tap collet and the tapper body in a state of being interposed with an elastic member on both sides thereof in an axial direction X.

Abstract: A wafer holding assembly is provided that is capable of preventing the temperature difference generated between a wafer and a holding pin through beam irradiation. In one embodiment, the wafer holding assembly has a plurality of holding pins for holding a wafer in the ion implanting apparatus, the holding pin comprises a head contacting with an end face of the wafer to control motion of the wafer and a flange projecting from the head to place the wafer, and the head is provided with a canopy portion extending in a direction different from a side placing the wafer.
Abstract: PCT No. PCT/US80/00137 Sec. 371 Date Feb. 11, 1980 Sec. 102(e) Date Feb. 11, 1980 PCT Filed Feb. 11, 1980This invention relates to an arbor assembly (10) for attaching a cutting tool (14) to a machine spindle (12). Replacing large cutting tools on multiple spindle milling machines has, heretofore, been a costly, frustrating and time-consuming job that is often aggrevated by the inaccessable placement of the tool-holding spindles on a machine. The above problems are effectively solved by providing an arbor assembly (10) having a spindle adapter (16) attachable to a machine spindle (12) and a mating cutting tool adapter (18) that is attachable to a cutting tool (14). The cutting tool adapter (18) is laterally separable from the spindle adapter (16) and is of particular use with vertically oriented spindles on multiple spindle milling machines.
