Fringe Patents (Class 28/145)
  • Patent number: 7891063
Abstract: A fringe maker for winding yarns to make a fringe. The fringe maker includes an elongated base having a pair of spaced crank and idler support member recesses interconnected by a longitudinal winding rod recess, a gripping slot, and a ruler recess. A pair of crank and idler support members are pivotally connected to the base within respective of the crank and idler support member recesses. Each has an upright operating position stopped against the base and a horizontal storage position disposed within the support member recesses that each define a storage area thereunder. A pair of crank and idler winding arms each have a central area rotatably connectable to respective of the support members while in the operating positions to rotate about a horizontal axis. A pair of elongated winding rods are disposable in a plurality of spaced relationships equidistant from and at opposite sides of the axis to interconnect the winding arms and form a removable winding unit.

  • Publication number: 20100263180
Abstract: An article and related method for creating custom and decorative fringes including an elongate and flexible template exhibiting an interior and linear extending slot. A yarn or ribbon is successively wrapped around the sides of the template in length progressing fashion as to overlay the slot. A stabilizer, including such as a hem tape, bias tape or ribbon, is aligned with the slot and sewn or otherwise secured to the yarn or ribbon, following which the lateral extending edges are sectioned to remove the finished item from the template and to permit subsequent application to an edge or other surface of an existing article.

  • Patent number: 6634068
Abstract: An integrated cutter for preparing the edges of a fabric for seaming includes a hooked needle which oscillates vertically in a guide bushing located close to the plane of the fabric between a retracted position where the head of the needle is not exposed and an extended position in which the needle penetrates the fabric. The needle head is shaped so that when it moves upwardly it pushes between a pair of yarns in one direction until the hook is above a yarn in the other direction. The needle hook includes a transverse groove shaped so that when it moves downwardly it captures this yarn.

  • Patent number: 6123835
Abstract: A process where the need to circulate hydrogen through the catalyst is eliminated. This is accomplished by mixing and/or flashing the hydrogen and the oil to be treated in the presence of a solvent or diluent in which the hydrogen solubility is "high" relative to the oil feed. The type and amount of diluent added, as well as the reactor conditions, can be set so that all of the hydrogen required in the hydroprocessing reactions is available in solution. The oil/diluent/hydrogen solution can then be fed to a plug flow reactor packed with catalyst where the oil and hydrogen react. No additional hydrogen is required, therefore, hydrogen recirculation is avoided and trickle bed operation of the reactor is avoided. Therefore, the large trickle bed reactors can be replaced by much smaller tubular reactor.

  • Patent number: 4957784
Abstract: A manufactured article comprising a decorative band 3 formed with a ribbon-like element 4 folded back so as to form a plurality of loops 4a consecutively disposed in side by side relationship and connected to a flexible support ribbon 2 by at least a stitching 5 fixedly engaging each of said loops in the region of their ends and extending all around the section of the flexible support ribbon 2 so that it can slide along the ribbon.

  • Patent number: 4382321
Abstract: The present invention relates to a machine for fraying woven fabrics, comprising a table adapted to receive the fabric; a drive device adapted to advance the fabric over the table; an engaging device with reciprocating vertical displacement adapted to pass the yarns of the fabric which are parallel to the direction of advance, through an opening in the table; a cutting tool disposed beneath the table to cut the yarns having passed through said opening, so as to obtain a drawn fabric having only yarns perpendicular to the direction of advance; and a fraying knife disposed above the table and behind the engaging device, with respect to the direction of advance, to cut the yarns of the drawn fabric and fray the fabric.
