  • Patent number: 7850741
Abstract: The present invention provides a cleansing polyester fabric, which comprises (i) a polyester multifilament consisting of ultra yarns (monofilament) of 0.001 to 0.1 deniers or its false twist yarn as warp and (ii) a false twisted mixing yarn consisting of said polyester multifilament and a high shrinkage polyester multifilament with 10-50% of shrinkage rate in boiling water as a weft, and said fabric satisfies the following properties; sum of warp density and weft density: 220-320 yarns/inch, thickness of the fabric: less than 0.3 mm, and weight of the fabric: 70-180 g/m2. The cleansing fabric of the present invention is useful as a makeup cleansing fabric or as wiping fabric for fine products and optical devices since it exhibits excellent cleansing performance, is soft to the touch and does not damage the surface of products to be cleaned.

  • Patent number: 6149437
Abstract: A method for making toys and toy figures from pliant rods such as pipe cleaners comprises providing an elongated member having a plurality of openings passing therethrough, the openings being arranged substantially linearly across the length of the member and configured to receive pliant rods. When one pliant rod (e.g., pipe cleaner) is thread through each one of the plurality of openings, a warp weave is defined. Pliant rods are weaved through the warp weave to create a woof weave and ultimately, a weaved piece. Once the weaved piece is formed, it can be removed from the device and then bent, twisted, and otherwise flexed to create a multiplicity of different toys drawing on the user's creativity.

  • Patent number: 5413150
Abstract: A frame (20) having a number of yarn holding clips (30) attached on an outside edge for looping yarn in a first direction around adjacent parallel clips to form a warp. A second number of opposed clips likewise mounted on the frame, permit a second looping yarn to be layered on top in a woof-like manner. The frame (20) has parallel sides and is preferably square or rectangular in shape. The clips (30) have legs (32), (34) and (36) that mate with the frame and an upstanding leg (38) provides the attachment point for the yarn. The clips are attached by nails (42) in the preferred embodiment or by spring tension in a third embodiment. A second embodiment provides a narrower upstanding leg (38) to pre-space the leg when the clips are touching each other. In a fourth embodiment, a frame having a multiplicity of rectangular frame cavities (50) is used. Into these cavities is inserted a yarn holding clip (30).

  • Patent number: 5284186
Abstract: A mat is produced from a single length of rope or other flexible member using a holder assembly which releasably clamps an end of each of a plurality of hollow tubular members. Warp lengths are formed over the clamped tubular members by alternately weaving the lead end of the flexible member over and under adjacent tubes, thereby forming respective groups of aligned loops thereon, until a desired width is obtained. The ends of the tubular members are unclamped from the holder assembly and weft lengths are formed by pushing or drawing the flexible member through the tubular members. A tube is removed from its position within a corresponding group of aligned loops when the pushed lead end emerges therefrom. The ends of the flexible member are wedged alongside a respective weft length to prevent unravelling of the mat.

  • Patent number: 4832085
Abstract: A handweaving system with detachable, variable-sized, flush rod sides, comprised of individual rods connectable together with threaded studs to achieve varying lengths and widths. The rod sides attach to same-plane corner supports in a manner that simultaneously provides working space for the hands and weaving fiber around the rod sides and forms an unobstructed inside angle where the rod sides meet. When used with a technique of weaving known as SunWeaving, the smooth rod surface of this handweaving frame produces a versatile, functional looped edge that borders the entire woven article. In addition to variable dimensions, the handweaving system adapts to a variety of weaving fiber sizes, gauges, handweaving techniques, and applications.

  • Patent number: 4416040
Abstract: A weaving loom comprises a plurality of interchangeable sections forming the loom frame. The sections are separably connected together in end-to-end abutment. The connection between abutting sections is an unique tab and slot construction preventing them from being pulled apart axially but causing the sections to disconnect when one section is twisted downwardly relative to the other section about their abutting ends. Pegs project upwardly from the frame sections, and when the loom is in use, yarn woven around the pegs back and forth between opposite sides of the loom frame prevents the loom sections from becoming disconnected.
