  • Patent number: 7354053
Abstract: An independent suspension for a vehicle, including upper and lower arms pivotally moveable in a vertical direction of the vehicle, an axle with a wheel center which is connected with the upper and lower arms, and a tie rod connected with the axle at a connection point rearward of the wheel center in a fore-and-aft direction of the vehicle. The lower arm is connected to the vehicle body at front and rear connection points spaced from each other in the fore-and-aft direction of the vehicle through front and rear pivot shafts with bushings. The central axis of the front pivot shaft is inclined relative to the central axis of the rear pivot shaft in a toe-in direction of the wheel.

  • Patent number: 7125027
Abstract: An axle mounting assembly includes a steerable axle mounted on an axle support and having a pair of opposing steerable wheels pivotally connected to the respective transverse ends of said steerable axle for pivotal movement relative thereto about respective wheel pivot axes. A substantially rigid connecting member extends between and is attached to the axle support and a steerable element of the steerable axle. The steerable axle is attached to the axle support by first, second and third flexible couplings. Each coupling provides for three planes of movement, the first flexible coupling attaching the axle to the axle support rearward of said axle, the second flexible coupling attaching the axle to a first end of a link forward of said axle and the third flexible coupling attaching a second end of said link to said axle support upwardly of said axle.

  • Patent number: 6854745
Abstract: A hand-propelled vehicle for passenger transport, in particular a pushchair, includes a chassis with at least three wheels, at least two of which are pivotally connected to the chassis, wherein the pivotable wheels are connected by at least one shaft which is pivotally connected to a fixed part of the chassis. The pivotable wheels are further situated behind the at least one fixed wheel as seen in the direction of travel of the vehicle, and the pivot connection of the shaft to the fixed part of the chassis is situated in front of the shaft as seen in the direction of travel. It is thus possible to arrange a steering function in frame constructions where there is no room for pivotable front wheels.
