    Abstract: An automotive splash guard includes first and second molded pieces. The first molded piece has a shape configured to have at least a portion thereof installed outside an automobile wheel well, and the second molded piece has a shape configured to be installed in an automobile wheel well. The first piece has an exterior painted surface, the first piece is separate from the second piece while the first piece is being painted and is attached to the second piece after being painted by mechanical joining or adhering. A method for manufacturing a splash guard includes molding the first piece; molding the second piece; painting the first piece while it is separate from the second piece; and then attaching the second piece to the first piece.

    Abstract: A splashguard for use in controlling tire splashes of a vehicle is disclosed. The splashguard includes a first plate that is attachable to a vehicle where the first plate has a top and bottom, and a second plate is attached to the bottom of the first plate. The splashguard includes an adjustably-spaced aperture and is configured so that when a surface being traveled on by the vehicle changes surface level, the second plate pivots relative to the first plate to adjust height of the splashguard. The splashguard may include a fastening mechanism that involves a strap and hanger arrangement. The splashguard may further include a removable portion configured to accommodate at least one vehicle component protruding from the rear side of the vehicle, such as a muffler or a trailer hitch receiver.

    Abstract: A lightweight, easily removable, full length bicycle fender system designed to accommodate the tight clearances between the front and rear tires and the fork, frame, and brakes tire of modern racing-style bicycles. The front and rear fenders mount to the bicycles by means of hook and loop fastening straps and single support stays that are secured between the wheel quick release and the fork and frame dropouts. One embodiment is a sectional fender that can be disassembled and carried in a bag that attached to the bicycle frame or below the saddle. An optional tensioning means provides additional stability for the fenders and helps to ensure a tight connection of the sections of the sectional fender embodiment. The fender system includes optional front and rear mudflaps that provide front wheel spray protection for the cyclist and rear wheel spray protection for following riders.
