Publication number: 20040100064Abstract: This invention resides in a hauling trailer, particularly of the type used to transport scrap such as crushed and flattened vehicles. A trailer according to the invention broadly includes a floor with walls and one open side, and a hinged door structure that allows one of the long sides of the trailer to be opened and closed for loading and unloading. In the preferred embodiment, the door structure opens centrally, but includes two panels on either side which are respectively hinged to one another, resulting in an articulated structure that provides more clearance. The doors are preferably cross-braced, and are covered with mesh and/or canvas to retain smaller loose components from falling out. The height of the doors is also adjusted to suite trailer having a lower floor between front and rear axles, and hinged braces are provided to maintain at least the top bridge of the doors in a straight and aligned condition when the doors are closed.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 27, 2003Publication date: May 27, 2004Inventor: Charles Bush

Patent number: 5486013Abstract: A sled construction consists of a generally concave sled which conforms to the buttocks of the sledder and a strap assembly for releasably securing the sled to the body of the sledder. A body portion of the concave sled includes an inner contoured surface which is received in conforming relation with the buttocks of a sledder and a outer surface having longitudinal runners extending downwardly therefrom. The sides of the body portion taper inwardly and curve upwardly to form symmetrical triangular wing portions which extend around the hips of the sledder. The front of the body portion tapers inwardly and curves upwardly to form an apex received adjacent to the crotch of the sledder. A substantially planar flange portion extends outwardly from the back of the body portion so that it is received adjacent a waist of the sledder. The body portion includes a lateral slot adjacent to the apex and the flange portion includes two symmetrically spaced slots therein.Type: GrantFiled: October 17, 1994Date of Patent: January 23, 1996Assignee: Pindi International, Ltd.Inventors: Rein Kilk, Madis Idarand

Patent number: 5149117Abstract: A saucer-shaped toy is designed to be utilized alternatively as a swing, a water slide and a snow slide. The saucer may be hung from a support when functioning as a swing, while it may be towed behind a boat when operable as a water slide. The saucer shape permits the toy to be used as a sled up on a snow covered surface, and removable runners can be employed to improve its steering capability over snow. When used as a water slide, a removable rudder can be used as well as water spray jets or enhanced aesthetic appeal. An upright steering pole can be attached to the saucer with a stiff spring so as to permit the pole to flexibly move to lessen the likelihood of injury to a user under certain situations.Type: GrantFiled: September 9, 1991Date of Patent: September 22, 1992Inventors: Doublas A.
