Hand Propelled Patents (Class 280/242.1)
  • Publication number: 20020140200
Abstract: An attachment for affixing hand operated side wheels to a scooter board is described. The attachment has a frame, preferably made from a metal strap with upturned ends. The ends are sufficiently spaced to accommodate a scooter board placed between them. Each end has a short axle on which a wheel is mounted. The wheels have an outwardly oriented offset handle acting as a crank to propel the attachment when combined with a scooter board. A washer and bolt passing through the center hole of the scooter board is sufficient to mount the attachment. Slotted indexing blocks attached to the frame engage reinforcing ribs on the underside of the scooter board to prevent rotation of the attachment.

Abstract: An electric vehicle having a steering assembly, a front wheel assembly, and an electric drive assembly. The steering assembly includes a rotatably mounted steering shaft and a steering hand mounted at an upper end of the steering shaft. The front wheel assembly includes a base member attached to a lower end of the steering shaft, a pair of front wheels, and a transmission operatively associated with the front wheels and configured for propelling the vehicle by driving the pair of front wheels when the steering shaft is rotated in an oscillating manner. The electric drive assembly includes a driving disc connected to an output shaft of an electric motor, a driven disc coaxially mounted on the steering shaft, and a driving arm having a first end rotatably connected to the driving disc and a second end rotatably connected to the driven disc for converting rotary movement of the driving disc to oscillating movement of the driven disc. A locking member selectively connects the driving arm to the driven disc.

  • Patent number: 6361058
Abstract: A playcart movable with hands has two wheel supports each has a side wheel fitted onto it. The wheel supports are each connected to a connecting plate with two pins. The connecting plates are each connected to one of two bent ends of a front support member, and can be relocated on the front support member to change a width of the playcart for users of various bodily sizes. A main support member connected with a seat member is separably secured to the front member; the seat member can be relocated on the main support to change a length of the playcart. The wheel supports each can be pivoted inwards to fold the playcart for easy storage when one of the pins is removed.

  • Patent number: 6247715
Abstract: To produce a wheelchair with high forward-moving efficiency, incorporating a simple structured driving mechanism that is compact enough to be fitted between the wheel and the frame. Thanks to this driving mechanism, the wheelchair moves forward not only when the operation lever is pushed but also when it is pulled. For the less frequent backward movement, the push rim continues to be used. An operation lever 2 is rockably established on each of the left and right sides of the moving direction of frame 1. Each operation lever 2 is provided with a pair of one-way-clutch-driving links 41, 42, in such a way that one ends of these 41, 42, are linked to the operation lever 2 via mutually spaced apart sub pivots 51, 52 at a certain distance forward from said main pivot 3, while the other ends of said links 41, 42 are linked to a pair of forward and backward arms 71, 72, which are established on opposite sides of a hub spindle of a one-way clutch.
