Skids Patents (Class 280/32)
  • Patent number: 9688177
Abstract: A retractable guide for loading and unloading snowmobiles, ATVs and other equipment from a trailer or truck bed includes a first portion that is movable relative to a second portion that is fixedly attached to the truck or trailer bed such that the first portion pivotally moves relative to the second portion. The first portion is of a sufficient length such that when the first portion guide is in an extended position a distal edge of the first portion contacts the ground surface to provide a ramp for loading and unloading the ATV, snowmobile or other equipment. The ramp provides a smooth transition from the ground to the bed of the truck or trailer. Once the ATV, snowmobile or other equipment is loaded onto the bed of the trailer or truck, the first portion of the guide is pivotally positioned into a stowed position such that an end gate or other retaining wall can be positioned into a secured vertical position with the ATV, snowmobile or other equipment being positioned on the bed of the trailer or truck.

  • Patent number: 9486914
Abstract: A plumber's creeper includes a lower body support having an inner frame with wheels and an outer frame telescopically received over the inner frame. The outer frame slides telescopically over the inner frame for adjusting the height of the lower body support. A height adjustment element coupled with the outer frame has a locked position for preventing height adjustment and an unlocked position for enabling sliding telescopic movement of the outer frame relative to the inner frame for adjusting the height of the lower body support. An upper body support is connected with the lower body support via a hinge that enables the upper body support to be folded over the lower body support. The plumber's creeper has an unfolded configuration in which the top surface of the upper body support and the top surface of the lower body support lie in a common plane.

Abstract: A multi-function cart for storing and transporting emergency or other supplies. The multi-function cart comprises a shell and lid or two shells that can be secured together to form a transportable storage container. When separated, each shell is convertible into various configurations that can be used to sustain life during and after a disaster as well as to clean up and rebuild after a disaster has occurred. In this manner, the multi-function cart enables victims to quickly care for themselves, and encourages victims to immediately begin the clean-up and rebuilding process. The multi-function cart can also be used recreationally. Each shell is convertible into different configurations using various tubes. Hub brackets on opposing sides of the shell include adapters to which any of the tubes can be connected. The tubes can be connected to the adapters in an upward or a downward orientation to form different configurations.

  • Patent number: 8430411
Abstract: A selectively configurable trolley for transporting articles across a given terrain includes a housing having a top platform and sides that at least partially define an enclosure for mounting internal operating components therein. One or more roller bearings are disposed within the housing and all configured to rotatingly support a drive belt. A handle is attached to the housing for pushing or pulling the trolley and a guide roller is disposed at a proximal end of the housing and is angled relative to the roller bearings to facilitate rotation of the belt therearound.

  • Patent number: 7182351
Abstract: A crawling aid for infants having a partial disability provides a cushioned platform to support the body of the infant. The platform has wheels, including at least one caster, to render the platform maneuverable. Portions of the platform are narrow to allow the infant's good limbs to extend down and engage the floor; and, the head support allows the infant to see on both sides of the platform. Thus, the infant can execute crawling motion while body and disabled limbs are supported on the platform.

  • Patent number: 6189909
Abstract: A watercraft trailer support skid protection assembly includes a protective sleeve sized and shaped to fit the contoured free end of an existing watercraft support skid. The assembly includes a securing device to hold the sleeve in place on the proximal end of the support skid. The protective sleeve has a low coefficient of friction and cooperates with the main support portion of the support skid. The assembly ensures that a watercraft will be securely held in place during transit, while promoting ease of loading and unloading, when appropriate. In an alternate embodiment of the assembly, the protective sleeve is used as a capping member to protect the contact faces of support bunks associated with a watercraft lifting device.

  • Patent number: 5794291
Abstract: A ramp for loading and unloading snowmobiles and other vehicles from a load bed such as a trailer or transport vehicle. The ramp comprises a pair of longitudinal tracks joined by a plurality of transverse members. Such transverse members are adapted to receive the wheels of the objects being transported or, in the case of snowmobiles, the belt grip thereof. In the case of snowmobiles, the skis of such vehicle are received on the longitudinal tracks. The ramp includes a pair of wheels for use in moving the ramp across the load bed. The wheels are positioned at a location on the ramp corresponding to the center of mass of such ramp when supporting the snowmobile or other such vehicle. The tracks of the ramp are preferably angled upwards to avoid contact with the load bed when being moved across same. The spacing of such tracks is adjustable so as to permit transport of the vehicles having a variety of widths.
