Abstract: A child stroller apparatus includes first and second leg frames, a handle and a latch element. The first leg frame includes a first side segment affixed with a first coupling element. The second leg frame includes a second side segment affixed with a second coupling element that is pivotally connected with the first coupling element about a first pivot axis. The handle includes a third side segment affixed with a third coupling element that is pivotally connected with the first coupling element about a second pivot axis. The latch element is operable to move between a locked position where the latch element locks the first, second and third coupling elements together to hold the handle and the first and second leg frames in a deployed state, and an unlocked position to allow relative rotations between the handle and the first and second leg frames to collapse the stroller apparatus.

Abstract: A stroller includes a stroller frame, a front seat assembly, and a rear seat assembly. The stroller frame includes two side support assembly disposed oppositely. A front seat space and a rear seat space are formed between the two side support assemblies. The rear seat assembly is detachably and height-adjustably disposed between the two side support assemblies and located in the rear seat space, for performing a function of adjusting a sitting height of a child sitting on the rear seat assembly. The stroller can include an accommodating basket under the front seat assembly. When the rear seat assembly is moved relative to the stroller frame, an expansible side portion of the accommodating basket can spread upward to expand the accommodating space of the accommodating basket.

The bucket assembly includes a bucket construction and a handle assembly. The bucket construction includes two bucket-based, leg-receiving apertures adjacent the bucket bottom. The inner bucket surface defines a volumetric space for receiving an infant. The insert assembly includes a liner assembly and a harness assembly. The liner assembly is sized and shaped to fit the inner bucket surface. The harness assembly is removably attached to the bucket assembly and donnable by the infant. The ring assembly includes an upper ring assembly. The bucket assembly is received and supported by the upper ring assembly such that the bucket-based and certain mesh-based leg-receiving apertures of the upper ring assembly are aligned. The bucket assembly is selectively removable from the mesh sack for transporting the infant.

Abstract: A detachable tipping support device used to prevent strollers from tipping over because of a disproportionate rear weight is disclosed. The support device comprises a telescoping kickstand shaft and a detented, spring biased stroller connection means. The kickstand shaft comprises a movable grip housing an internal spring biased mechanism that locks the shaft into either a deployed or stored state. A high friction base at the kickstand shaft is used to stabilize the device against a surface and prevents sliding along a support surface when supporting the weight of a tipping stroller. The stroller connection means comprises a clamp having a first and second clamp member. The clamp members envelope a rear post of a stroller and are drawn together via fasteners to secure to the post. The kickstand shaft is then pivotable mounted to the clamp members and secured into a given position by the spring biased mechanism.

Abstract: A buggy for transporting children has a frame (3a, 3b, 5) and wheels (9) that are rotatably mounted relative to the frame to support the frame above a ground surface. A primary seat (8) is operatively supported by the frame for supporting a first child. A secondary seat (17) is operatively supported by the frame for supporting a second child. The buggy is convertible between an in use configuration for transporting children and a folded storage configuration, whether or not the secondary seat is attached. The secondary seat may be detachable. The secondary seat may be positioned at least partly behind and at least partly below the primary seat.

  • Patent number: 8814183
Abstract: Aspects of the present invention involve a steerable running stroller including a lower frame assembly supporting two rear wheels and an upper frame assembly supporting a front wheel. A self centering hinge mechanism, which may define a physical pivot axis or a virtual pivot axis, is coupled between the lower frame assembly and the upper frame assembly. The pivot axis defined by the self centering hinge mechanism is positioned at an angle, which may be an obtuse angle, such that the front wheel is normally in a straight orientation with respect to the rear wheels, and when a user imparts a turning force, the front wheel both turns and tilts relative to the rear wheels. When the turning force is removed, the self centering hinge mechanism acts to return the running stroller to a straight rolling orientation.

Abstract: Because sidewalks are slanted for rain run-off, they pose a safety risk for baby strollers if the person pushing the stroller stops and doesn't apply the brake. If s/he releases the stroller's handle when the brake is not applied, the stroller may veer off towards the curb owing to gravity, wind, the baby's movements, traffic vibrations, etc. Not applying the brake when stopped is a common mistake. While parents may remember to apply the brake when stopped, other caregivers may not. Applicant's improvement provides fully automatic slip-clutch joining means to inhibit veering off by automatically coupling the stroller's rear wheels together when the stroller is stopped. When coupled, the rear wheels must rotate in unison thus helping to prevent the stroller from veering-off toward the curb. When the stroller is being pushed the slip clutch handily becomes disengaged by turning or making other course adjustments.
