Abstract: Apparatus for a perineal wash system, including a seat with a pair of pads and/or a conduit that redirects fluid from a hand-held spray nozzle to the perineal area of a person on the seat. The pads are separated and have front and rear access areas dimensioned to allow a caregiver to access the perineal area of a seated person. In one embodiment one pad is movable sideways. The frame supporting the seat is spaced a sufficient distance from the gap between the pads to not impede access to the perineum. In one embodiment a perineal washer is supported adjacent the seat. The washer receives a nozzle of a hose sprayer and redirects the fluid spray through a movable elongated conduit to direct a spray of liquid upward to the perineum. In one embodiment a commode pot below the seat has a gap sufficient to avoid pinching dangling body parts.

Abstract: A secondary lock device for a one-hand fold mechanism on a child's stroller is pivotally mounted next to the actuator of the one-hand fold mechanism. The secondary lock device is positioned for convenient access by a finger of the operator to provide an intuitively operable secondary lock device cooperable with the one-hand fold actuator. The secondary lock device is spring-loaded by a torsion spring mounted on the rotational axis of the adjacent cam member forming part of the one-hand fold mechanism. The pivoted lock member includes an outwardly projecting member that engages a corresponding niche in the actuator when in a locking position. The outwardly projecting member rides along a cam surface on the actuator when the actuator is being operated, while the biasing spring returns the outwardly projecting member into the niche when the actuator reaches the home position.

  • Patent number: 7591479
Abstract: A collapsible supporting structure (eg the framework of a stroller) comprises a central mounting body (15) having rotatable disc (41). In the supporting arrangement (depicted) front leg (20) extends from the front surface of disc (41) and rear legs (18-19) extend rearwardly from the rear surface of disc (41). When folding the structure for transportation, rotation of disc (41) by approximately 180 ° brings all three legs (18-20) into an upwardly splayed position. Individual pivoting of legs (18-20) will then bring them into approximate coextension with arms (35-36). Disc (41) in use is locked against rotation, however twisting of a lock on top of body (15) allows pivotal convergence of arms (35-36). The movement of arms (35-36) presses on captive balls that in turn displace radial plungers so they lie within the periphery of disc (41), allowing its rotation.

Abstract: The invention relates to a swivel wheel (10) with suspension (14), comprising a wheel frame (11), a wheel element (12) able to turn about a horizontal wheel axle (13), a suspension (14) and an arm (15). At one end the arm (15) is attached to the wheel frame (11) such that it can pivot about a horizontal arm axis (17) and at the other end it supports the wheel axle (13) some distance away from the arm axis (17). The suspension (14) engages on the arm (15) at an arm engagement point (18) and on the wheel frame (11) at a frame engagement point (19). The arm engagement point (18) and the frame engagement point (19) define a straight suspension axis (20) running through these points. The wheel furthermore has an adjustment mechanism (30) that is equipped for setting the distance (D) from the suspension axis (20) to the arm axis (17) by moving the arm engagement point (18) and/or the frame engagement point (19) along an adjustment track (31).
