  • Publication number: 20100084838
Abstract: The invention relates to a slow sliding board, in particular a ski, with a board body and a chord, which is supported and/or anchored on the board body at at least one supporting point. In this case, the chord is guided longitudinally displaceably in at least one control region and coupled with the snow sliding board with respect to longitudinal flexing in the control region in such a way that a force resulting from flexing of the snow sliding board in the control region acts along the chord on a steering region at a longitudinal end of the snow sliding board in such a way that the snow sliding board is flexed in the steering region. The snow sliding board has in this case a transmission device, which transmits the force along the chord into the tensile force on the steering region. A force path between the board body and the steering region thereby comprises the following elements in the following sequence: supporting point, chord, transmission device, steering region.

Abstract: A ski for a snow vehicle includes a snow contacting portion that has a generally horizontal surface and a keel depending therefrom. The keel includes a keel base, a first inclined surface, and a second inclined surface. The keel base extends laterally from a longitudinal central plane of the ski to a lateral extent. The first inclined surface extends between the keel base and an inflection line that extends longitudinally. The second inclined surface extends between the inflection line and the generally horizontal surface. The inflection line is located no farther laterally from the longitudinal central plane than is the lateral extent of the keel base.

  • Patent number: 7150464
Abstract: A device and method are disclosed for a configurable snowshoe and ski device. The device may include a base member having a bottom for traversing over snow, and a plurality of wings rotatably coupled to the member, the wings convertible between a skiing configuration in which the wings form a surface for gliding over snow and a snowshoe configuration in which the wings extend outward laterally. Also, the device may include a traction device connected to the base member and configured for gripping snow or ice when the plurality of wings is in the snowshoe configuration. The method may include rotatating a plurality of wings coupled to a base member outward laterally to form a snowshoe configuration, and rotating the plurality of wings inward to form a skiing configuration in which the wings form a surface for gliding over snow.
