  • Patent number: 11305177
Abstract: A front insert for a ski mountaineering boot has first and second heads, positionable on lateral portions of a front part of the boot, a first housing in the first head, a second housing in the second head, and two contact elements with respective holes for coupling with respective hooking elements of a binding. The housings and respective ones of the contact elements are reciprocally conformed so as to enable the contact elements to displace from internal positions with respect to the housings, towards the outside, so that the contact elements orient with respect to the housings so that the holes can misalign from an alignment axis to maintain the contact with the hooking elements following a rotation of the ski boot with respect to the ski.

  • Patent number: 11229831
Abstract: A telemark ski binding has a toe retainer pivotally coupled to a base. A lock assembly of the binding has an actuator assembly. The lock assembly is adjustable between a locked configuration and an unlocked configuration. The binding further has a heel retainer rotatably coupled to the toe retainer. When the lock assembly is in the unlocked configuration, the toe retainer is unlocked, and the toe retainer and heel retainer are both rotatable together substantially inline, relative to the base, around a first center point. When the lock assembly is in the locked configuration, the toe retainer is locked, and the toe retainer is restrained from rotating relative to the base. The heal retainer is rotatable relative to the toe retainer around a second center point. The second center point is at a different location from said first center point.

  • Patent number: 10035058
Abstract: A boot binding system for a splitboard that can include a latch pedal mechanism at an end of a baseplate on which the rider's boot rests. The latch pedal can have a dual function: either to attach each boot binding to a ride mode interface, or to attach each boot binding to a ski tour interface. In a “release position” the latch pedal is disengaged allowing the baseplate assembly to alternate between the ski tour interface and the ride mode interface. In a “lock position,” the rider depresses the latch pedal and locks the boot binding onto the selected interface. The latch pedal is held down by the rider's boot when in the lock position, contributing to the system's lightness and strength.

  • Patent number: 9566498
Abstract: A ski binding comprises a first recess for receiving a ski shoe pin, a locking member movable between a locking position and a open position, a biasing means to bias the locking member towards the locking position, and an activation member rotatably attached to the housing for rotation around a transversal rotational axis of the binding. The locking member has at least one outer portion that allows a ski shoe pin to force the locking member from the locking position towards the open position when the ski shoe pin enters the first recess. The activation member has an arm extending radially away from its transversal rotational axis. The activation member and the locking member are operatively connected such that when the arm rotates in the first rotational direction through a predetermined lower operational range, the activation member forces the locking member from the locking position to the open position.

  • Patent number: 9289675
Abstract: A flexor for use in a ski binding or mounting plate for a cross country or touring ski, comprises an extending flexor arm and a holding and positioning portion, wherein the extending flexor arm is connectable to, or integral with, the holding and positioning portion such that the extending flexor arm can rotate and/or displace with respect to the holding and positioning portion around the point of connection between the two. The extending flexor arm is formed such that the amount of displacement of the extending flexor arm as a result of an applied force acting thereon follows a substantially linear relationship, up to a first desired amount of displacement. For a displacement of the extending flexor arm greater than the first desired amount of displacement, the amount of displacement of the extending flexor arm as a result of an applied force acting thereon follows an approximately exponential relationship.

The cable includes a heel lever that engages both the heel of the boot and a heel block such that the boot heel remains free to be lifted vertically relative to the ski and binding. The heel of the boot is reversibly secured to the sports equipment by frictional forces between a camming surface of the heel lever and an anterior surface of the heel block. The heel lever can be tipped between an open position and a closed position.
