  • Patent number: 9174658
Abstract: A collapsible wheelbarrow has a barrow formed of a plurality of panels that are hinged together to transition between an erected state in which the panels are configured to define the operative barrow and a collapsed state in which most or all of the panels are not folded together and the barrow is relatively flattened out extending over a greater ground area than when in the erected state so that the barrow in the collapsed, flattened state can function as a ground sheet, having an enlarged surface area. For a gardener this makes it much better for collecting leaves, grass or other garden cuttings or materials, which may be swept or raked directly onto the flattened but floor area-expanded barrow before then raising/erecting the barrow to its operative wheelbarrow state to be wheeled off to a compost heap or other location.

  • Patent number: 8936268
Abstract: An apparatus for traversing loose, granular material includes a frame and a rotatable traction device connected to the frame. The outer surface of the rotatable traction device includes spaced apart curvilinear or angular traction ridges and spaced apart curved or angular valleys, each valley being between a pair of adjacent traction ridges, thereby forming curved or angular shovel-like elements. Each shovel-like element has a leading curved or angular surface and a confining curved or angular surface. Rotation of the rotatable traction device results in rotation of the shovel-like elements through the loose, granular material. Each shovel-like element enfolds a portion of the loose, granular material bordering the leading curved or angular surface of the shovel-like element, and the confining curved or angular surface of the shovel-like element confines at least part of the enfolded portion of the material, thereby confining and restricting displacement of the enfolded portion of the material.

  • Patent number: 7614628
Abstract: A collapsible wheeled cart for carrying cases comprises a handle, a support platform for a carrying case pivotally connected to a lower end of the handle, a pair of wheel arms each having an outer end carrying a wheel and an inner end pivotally connected to the lower end of the handle, and an actuator operable to effect movement of the platform and wheel arms in unison from a non-deployed position in a collapsed configuration for the cart to a deployed position in an expanded configuration for the cart. The actuator is operable by a user applying a single manual operative motion to the actuator, which serves to expand the depth and width of the cart when it is placed in the expanded configuration from the collapsed configuration.

  • Patent number: 7552931
Abstract: A golf cart collapsible device includes a frame including an upper frame and a lower frame, a foldable articulation mounted on a mediate portion of the lower frame for folding the lower frame, two rear wheel frames mounted between the lower frame and two rear wheels, a collapsible articulation mounted between the lower frame and a front wheel frame for folding a front wheel, and a pull bar mounted between the collapsible articulation and the two rear wheel frames. Thus, the pull bar is connected between the collapsible articulation and the two rear wheel frames, so that when the front wheel is folded, the pull bar is driven to move the two rear wheels simultaneously so as to fold the front wheel and the two rear wheels simultaneously by connection of the pull bar.

  • Patent number: 7500680
Abstract: A wheeled transport device, such as luggage, a trash can, a garden cart or other hand cart configured to be manually wheeled in an inclined position by a pedestrian user, includes a collapsible handle at one end and wheels at the other end. The wheels are independently connected to the device by respective suspensions that exhibit a compliance, in response to forces applied to their respective wheels by the surface in a direction opposing wheel motion, selected to sufficiently alter suspension geometry to temporarily change an attitude, such as toe, camber or caster, of their respective wheels to counter a tendency of the device to overturn in response to the applied forces.

Abstract: A collapsible cart comprises a base having a pair of base sections separated by a base joint, a first side having a pair of first side sections separated by a first collapsing means, a second side having a pair of second side sections separated by a second collapsing means, two or more wheels coupled to the base, and storage means coupled to the first and second sides of the cart. The base joint is structured for allowing the base to be moved between an expanded base position and a collapsed base position. Similarly, the first collapsing means is structured for allowing the first side to move between an expanded first side position and a collapsed first side position, while the second collapsing means is structured for allowing the second side to move between an expanded second side position and a collapsed second side position.

  • Patent number: 7464956
Abstract: A foldable frame assembly includes first and second frames pivotally connected to each other and respectively having a wheel-carrying end and a foot end. The tabletop bracing member is pivotally connected to the first frame in proximity of a handgrip portion, and supports a machine thereon such that in a propped up position, the center of gravity of the machine is disposed rearwards from the table top bracing member. The tabletop bracing member has a retaining region brought to engage a retained region on the second frame. The base prop is disposed to sit on the ground surface in the propped up position so as to relieve the frame subassembly of the mass of the machine, thereby facilitating displacement of the frame assembly to a folded or unfolded position. A locking member is disposed to place engagement of the retaining region with a selected one of the first and second retained regions.

Abstract: A hand truck for carrying and transporting an object comprises a frame having a base and a back arranged in a generally L-shaped configuration. The frame is supported by at least a pair of wheels for rolling over the ground. An object may be placed on the base for using the hand truck to move the object. A retainer has a loading position in which the retainer is sufficiently clear of the base to allow the object to be slid onto the base. After the object is slid onto the base, the retainer may be raised to a transport position in which the retainer at least partially encircles the object to hold the retainer on the base. • Patent number: 7434818
Abstract: The “One-Hand Operation Conversion for Wheelbarrow Handles” added to a wheelbarrow, on one hand, offers single hand operability and maneuverability, and on the other hand offers added benefits to dual-handed users. The wheelbarrow can easily be converted from dual to single-handed operation and then back again with this said unit. This is completed by adding a centrally mounted handle to cross support(s) which are attached to the two longitudinally extending handles of the said wheelbarrow. When the center handle is attached, one-hand operation is achieved by the load balancing capabilities of the said handle and its mounting orientation. The center handle is formed into or mounted to the cross support(s) that are mounted to the existing longitudinal handles. The unit size dimensions and mounting method are arbitrary and will be made to fit the circumstances of mounting position and cross support material. The cross support(s) material and the handle material are of variable rigid form.
