Spring Patents (Class 280/79)
  • Patent number: 10227080
Abstract: In certain aspects, a roller assembly includes a base structure defining multiple recesses that extend inwardly from a top surface of the base structure, a first wheel, and a second wheel. The multiple recesses are configured such that at least one of the multiple recesses is engageable with an auxiliary component of the load, and the multiple recesses include a central recess positioned at a center of the top surface of the base structure. The first wheel is disposed along a first side of the base structure, and the second wheel is disposed along a second side of the base structure, the second side of the base structure being spaced apart from and parallel to the first side of the base structure.

Abstract: An independent wheel suspension for the non-driven wheels of a vehicle comprises a wheel carrier for rotatably mounting a wheel of the vehicle, the wheel carrier being connected to a first transverse link and a second transverse link. The first transverse link is configured to be torsionally stiff and comprises a U-shaped opening in the link. The first transverse link is connected to the vehicle body via two link bearings on a body side and is connected to the wheel carrier via two link bearings on a wheel carrier side. The wheel suspension includes a bearing spring supported on the vehicle body and on the wheel carrier and positioned within the U-shaped opening of the first transverse link.

  • Publication number: 20100308554
Abstract: An actuator, which can be actuated along a longitudinal axis, in particular for a spring carrier, includes a stationary part, a first rotor, which can be driven so as to perform a rotary motion, a rotatable second rotor, which is supported against the stationary part in the axial direction in an axial rest position, a coupling device, by which the second rotor is coupled to the first rotor, and an output element, which is connected to the second rotor and can be moved axially by means of a rotary motion of the second rotor. The coupling device interacts with the first rotor and the second rotor in such a way that, starting from the rest position, an axial movement of the second rotor can be produced by means of a first rotary motion of the first rotor in order to release the second rotor from the stationary part and thereby bring it into a working position.

  • Patent number: 7562897
Abstract: A collapsible transport cart includes a bottom wall with a planar top surface, and a plurality of apertures formed in opposed corners thereof. First and second axially opposed walls are attached to the bottom wall, and third and fourth walls are attached to opposed longitudinal edges thereof. A plurality of brackets is removably mated with top edges of the walls such that a rectangular cavity is defined within an interior perimeter thereof. A plurality of shelves and caster assemblies is adjustably mated to the bottom wall. A mechanism adjustably and removably supports the shelves within the cavity such that the shelves remain statically nested within the cavity when the walls are biased to a horizontal and open position.

  • Patent number: 7422228
Abstract: The invention is directed to a sports board (15). In the preferred embodiment, the board comprises an expanded polymer foam core (16), an extruded thermoplastic polymer outer layer (20) having an inner surface (21) and an outer surface (22), an expanded polymer foam intermediate layer (19) between the core and the outer layer which is laminated to the inner surface of the outer layer, the outer surface of the outer layer being substantially planar and having at least one series (23) of longitudinally extending, parallel and alternating grooves (26) and ridges (27), the series having a width (28) and the grooves and ridges spaced across the width so as to provide from about ten to about eighty grooves per inch of the width. The grooves may be spaced so as to provide about forty-five grooves per inch of the width. The grooves may have a depth (33) of from about 0.05 mm to about 1 mm. The depth may be about 0.4 mm.

  • Patent number: 6607201
Abstract: A swivel wheel assembly includes a wheel axle, and a vehicle wheel rotatably mounted on the wheel axle. A shock-absorbing wheel fork is secured to opposite ends of the wheel axle and includes first and second elongated spaced-apart support arms. A pivot pin extends through pin openings formed with proximal ends of the first and second support arms. A base is carried by the pivot pin, and is adapted for pivoting movement about an axis defined by the pivot pin. An adjustable shock absorber dampens pivoting movement of the base relative to the vehicle wheel, thereby absorbing the energy of sudden shocks to the vehicle wheel during use.

Abstract: A swivel wheel assembly includes a wheel axle, and a vehicle wheel rotatably mounted on the wheel axle. A shock-absorbing wheel fork is secured to opposite ends of the wheel axle. The wheel fork includes first and second elongated spaced-apart support arms located on opposite sides of the vehicle wheel. The support arms have respective distal and proximal ends. The distal ends define respective axle openings receiving the wheel axle. The proximal ends extend beyond a periphery of the vehicle wheel and define respective pin openings. A pivot pin extends through the pin openings formed with proximal ends of the first and second support arms. A base is carried by the pivot pin, and is adapted for pivoting movement about an axis defined by the pivot pin. A vertical swivel shaft is mounted on the base, and is adapted for connecting to an underframe of a vehicle to provide swivel movement of the vehicle wheel about an axis defined by the swivel shaft.

  • Patent number: 4553774
Abstract: A beam axle is passed through 2 separated plates, one pair at each end. A stub axle also passes through the 2 plates at each end and is offset from the beam axle. The innovation is the location of a leaf spring between the plate and between the stub and beam axles. The spring is preferably jammed in position by opposing wedges. The springs are closer to the wheels than is possible in prior art constructions.
