Retractable Patents (Class 280/807)
  • Patent number: 11964626
Abstract: Provided are a seat belt retractor and a seat belt device capable of suppressing an increase in frictional resistance when a pretensioner is steadily driven and increasing the resistance to be applied to a webbing when energy is absorbed. A seat belt retractor includes a guide member facing at least a part of an outer circumferential surface of a locking base and disposed along an opening portion. The guide member is configured not to come into contact with the locking base until a pretensioner is shifted to a steady driving state, is configured to come into contact with the locking base when the pretensioner is steadily driven, and is configured to allow contact between lock teeth and the locking base when subjected to a predetermined load after the pretensioner is shifted to the steady driving state.

  • Patent number: 11840186
Abstract: A vehicle occupant notification apparatus provides a notification to a vehicle occupant by retracting a seatbelt of a vehicle and includes an operation-amount measuring instrument, an arithmetic controller, and a retraction device. The operation-amount measuring instrument measures a measurement seatbelt operation amount when the vehicle occupant sits on a seat of the vehicle and fastens the seatbelt. The measurement seatbelt operation amount is either one of a measurement seatbelt pull-out amount and a measurement seatbelt pull-out angle. The arithmetic controller determines whether the measurement seatbelt operation amount is larger than or equal to a predetermined value. The retraction device varies a retraction amount in the retraction of the seatbelt when the notification is to be provided by retracting the seatbelt based on a command from the arithmetic controller. The command indicates that the measurement seatbelt operation amount is larger than or equal to the predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 9145106
Abstract: In a webbing-winding device, a tension acting on a webbing is smaller when a pretensioner-mechanism is actuated than when a force-limiter mechanism is actuated, thus, projection dimensions of a first claw and a second claw can be made smaller than projection dimensions of second contact portions. A total of contact areas of first contact portions and the second contact portions with a body portion is larger than a total of contact areas of the first claw and the second claw with the body portion. Accordingly, the first claw and the second claw are caused to insert through an insertion hole from the lower side of a stay to attach. Since the projection dimensions can be made smaller, an amount of deflection of the protector can be made smaller. Therefore, the protector can be held on the stay reliably to allow the protector to be attached to the stay easily.

Abstract: When releasing a connection between a motor and a spool, the value of a drive voltage is increased at start-up of the motor. After the rotating shaft of the motor starts rotating, the value of the drive voltage is set to a minimum value necessary to maintain the rotation of the rotating shaft. By this means, it is possible to prevent the number of revolutions of the rotating shaft of the motor from increasing unnecessarily and reduce the sound produced from the motor.

  • Patent number: 8783722
Abstract: The self-releasing vehicular harness is a harness designed to prevent a driver or rider of a motorcycle from flying over the handlebars during a head-on or upright collision. The self-releasing vehicular harness includes a tether that extends from the harness to a spring-loaded drum located in a housing positioned to the rear of the end user. The housing contains at least one tensioning means that releases the drum in order to enable the tether to unroll thereby releasing the end user from the vehicle in the event of a non-head-on collision or other parameter. An inclinometer detects the angle of the vehicle in order to determine whether to release or lock the spring-loaded drum. A kill switch and/or seat sensor may work in conjunction with the inclinometer to further define parameters for releasing or locking the tether.

Abstract: A seat belt system for a vehicle that is reversible between a 3-point arrangement and a 4-point arrangement is provided. The seat and seat belt arrangement includes a seat having a centerline, a seat back and a seat base. The seat and seat belt arrangement further includes a pair of shoulder belts, a pair of moveable shoulder belt guides and associated moveable retractors. A pair of lap belts is also provided. A buckle assembly is also provided to which the shoulder belts and lap belts are attached. Lap belt retractors are provided. One of the retractors is selectively movable between a retracted position in which the buckle assembly is to one side of the centerline and non-retracted position in which the buckle assembly is generally on the centerline. In the retracted position the moveable guides are moved away from the centerline while in the non-retracted position the moveable guides are moved toward the centerline.

  • Patent number: 8720950
Abstract: A ring gear 15 of a pretensioner 8 includes a plurality of levers 17 and one arc-shaped stopper 16 to allow force transmission members to smoothly move in a pipe, to facilitate setting of a stopper for stopping rotation of a ring gear, and to reduce the cost with a simple structure. During operation of the pretensioner 8, the levers 17 are sequentially pressed by balls 12a to rotate a pinion 19 and a spool in a seatbelt retracting direction. When the ring gear 15 rotates by a predetermined rotation amount, an outer peripheral edge 16c of the stopper 16 contacts and presses the opposing ball 12a. Since the ball 12a is thereby clamped between the stopper 16 and an inner peripheral surface 10d1 of a pipe I0, the ring gear 15 is stopped.
