Abstract: An apparatus for supporting a pad of paper comprising a plurality of sheets joined together at a joined edge portion, the joined edge portion having at least one hole therethrough is disclosed. The apparatus includes a substantially rigid support member including a front surface and a back surface, the support member configured to support the pad of paper at an edge portion of the support member, wherein the edge portion includes a recess that is arranged to allow a portion of the plurality of sheets to be accessed from the back surface of the support member; and at least one fastener member provided at the edge portion of the support member and projecting forwardly therefrom, the at least one fastener member being configured to be received in the at least one hole in the joined edge portion of the pad of paper being engaged with the front surface of the support member so as to removably secure the pad of paper to the support member.

The covering sheet (1) comprises at least one region, which is completely punched-out and/or at least one region (7), which, due to a partial punching out is easily removable from the covering sheet (1). The punched-out region is a window (6), through which the title and/or the headline of a newspaper or magazine packed into the covering sheet (1) is visible. Partially punched-out regions (7) of the covering sheet (1) are marked by corresponding printing as voucher, reply card, collector's card, punch-out sheet or toy and are removed from the covering sheet (1) for functions other than the covering function of the covering sheet (1).

Abstract: The present invention provides a retractable dual-purpose file folder, including a retractable chamber with a front panel, a rear panel, a retractable bottom wall, two retractable side walls and an accommodation space. A plurality of three-sided sealed spacers is arranged at intervals into the accommodation space of the retractable chamber, the bottom of which is coupled onto the retractable bottom wall. There is a multi-section locator, including first and second locators. The first locator is arranged onto the front panel, and the second locator arranged on the rear panel. The invention includes positioning bands, each with a positioning end located securely on the front panel and a moveable end with a mating portion mated securely with the first and second locators. The retractable dual-purpose file folder can be accommodated into the brief case and placed uprightly on the table for meeting the diversified customer requirements with better applicability.

Abstract: The present invention provides an expandable file folder, including a main body, a hanging portion and a locating zipper. The locating zipper includes a first zipper tooth, a second zipper tooth and a zipper head. The first and second zipper teeth are fitted separately with a meshing side on the first and second cover plates of the main body; and the hanging portion is arranged at inner side of the first cover plate for hanging of the file folder. The users can increase the number of file folders depending on the growing quantity of files, and permit the file folders to be used collectively, thus improving its functionality and applicability.

The cover includes front and back covers (20 and 30) which are foldably coupled to each other by a main coupling part (10). Front and back collapsing covers (25 and 35) are coupled, respectively, to upper surfaces of the front and back covers (20 and 30) by separation lines (25a and 35a) in such a way as to overlap the front and back covers (20 and 30). An angle holding unit is provided between the front or back cover (20 or 30) and the corresponding front or back collapsing cover (25 or 35) to hold an angle between the front or back cover (20 or 30) and the corresponding front or back collapsing cover (25 or 35).

Abstract: A holder for flat objects according the invention includes an endless belt made of a flexible sheet material, wherein an end portion of the belt is folded into itself forming an inner bend and an outer bend with the inner bend disposed inside of the outer bend. A set of first and second support rods are disposed side by side in parallel to each other, the first rod at the bottom of the inner bend and the second rod at the bottom of the outer bend. A pair of third and fourth rods extend through parallel endwise openings in the belt between the inner and outer bends, which third and fourth rods are disposed side by side in parallel to each other with the belt is wound over the third and fourth rods so that the belt can slide over the third and fourth rods, whereby movement of the first rod away from the second rod causes sliding movement of the belt over the third and fourth rods. In a preferred embodiment an inside surface of the belt is attached to one or both of the first and second rods.

Abstract: The present invention is a foldable clipboard that generally comprises a flat board with an upper end and a lower end. Each flat board includes a writing surface and a rear surface. The foldable clipboard further includes an engagement means that engages the flat boards and an attachment means proximate the upper end of the writing surface. The plurality of folding serrations allows the clipboard to be in open and closed positions and provides a continuous and smooth writing surface when in an open position. The foldable clipboard protects the paper by providing an external cover in the closed position. The clipboard may include locking means to prevent unwanted movement and ensure a flat writing surface in an open position.

The cable is separate from the hybrid storage apparatus and used for communicating with a host. Also provided is a hybrid storage apparatus for holding print media and for storing digital content that includes a plurality of pages containing printed content, a cover for retaining the pages, and a storage device that is fixedly attached to or embedded within the cover. The pages include at least one page that displays a table of contents and refers to the digital content items stored in the non-volatile memory.

The web (12) is folded on a bottom (20) of the file so as to form at least one fold (18) and is provided with two sidewalls (22) that extend from the bottom (20) of the file to the top edges (14). Hooks (26) that project from the lateral edges (16) are attached to the top edges (14). The suspension file (10, 110) further comprises at least one reinforcement element (36) which is connected to the web (12) and extends from one top edge (14) to the other along one of the lateral edges (16). According to the invention, the at least one reinforcement element (36) is arranged at a distance from the respective lateral edge (16).

Abstract: A binder arrangement that has a plurality of covers hingably connected to a spine that spaces apart each cover such that each cover can carry a binder and be closed one on top of the other without either binder interfering with each other or case closure. Each binder includes a hold down page that is releasably attached by a hold down page latch that accommodates the binder holding contents having different thicknesses. In a preferred embodiment, the hold down page latch comprises a hook and loop fastener that has a loop strip fixed to a latch strap and a hook strip that is fixed to the hold down page. To increase the number of opening and closing cycles the binder arrangement can endure, the binder arrangement has sidewalls joined by a fastening arrangement that is resiliently anchored at one end to the spine, preferably by an elastomeric connector. In one preferred embodiment, the fastening arrangement is a zipper that is resiliently anchored at its zipper bottom stop by a piece of elastic fabric.

Abstract: A pad is disclosed to assist a user to carry a number of small articles such as a mobile telephone, calculator, personal digital assistant etc. The pad, typically about the size of A4 paper, has a flat surface having plurality of magnets associated therewith. The magnets can be located beneath the surface of the pad protected by a layer of plastics material or can be flush with the surface. Typically, a magnet is disc-shaped but can also be in the form of a strip for particular uses. A bulldog clip or the like can be included in order to retain papers or forms on the pad. If necessary, a magnet or magnetizable element can be affixed to an article to be carried to provide the article with engagement with the magnets.

The foldable frame has an erect configuration and a folded configuration and the flexible sheeted material is attached to the foldable frame. The foldable frame includes first, second, third, fourth, and central elongated support members, each having first and second ends. The first and second elongated support members have first and second pivots, respectively. The first end of the central elongated support member is operatively connected to first end of the first elongated support member and the second end of the central elongated support member is operatively connected to the first end of the second elongated support member. When the foldable frame is in the erect configuration the central elongated support member is positioned substantially parallel to the third and fourth elongated support members and is about centrally positioned therebetween.

Abstract: A stand for supporting a structure (e.g., a notebook) for holding one or more pages includes a mounting member adapted to engage the structure. A support member secured to the mounting member is moveable between a stowed and support positions. The support member includes a pair of legs defining at least in part a base of the support member. Each of the legs is selectively reconfigurable between a first configuration in which the leg has a relatively shorter length and a second configuration in which the leg has a relatively longer length. When the legs are in the relatively shorter configuration, the stand may be used to support the structure in an inclined position on a work surface. When the legs are in the longer configuration, the stand may be used to retain the structure in self-supporting configuration so the structure can support itself upright on the work surface.

These sections will be attached to the book cover and/or additional sections by a mechanical way. The user of the book will then be allowed to select and detach individual sections of the book without destroying the integrity of the entire book block. Likewise, publishers of the book are now able to update and/or replace sections of an entire book block without needing to reprint and republish the whole book.

The file folder may also have open side ends or closed side ends that are closed in with side walls. The rigid bottom piece is uniquely affixed with a hinge attachment and is useful in creating a stable file folder that maintains its shape when filled with documents, items, or other materials.

Abstract: A portable book holder capable of expanding to fit various size books. The base includes an upper section that is capable of being extended in order to accommodate books that are taller. Additionally, there are two book supports that are adjustable outwardly based on the thickness of a particular book. The two book supports are also adjustable with a semi-circular base adjuster thereby allowing for the adjustment based on the width of a book. The portable book holder easily folds out to form the book support and easily folds up for portability.

Abstract: A clipboard has a light assembly built into a clip on the board. The light assembly includes a light head adapted to fit into a recess on the clip. The light head may have a curved top surface matching a curved top surface of the clip head. When in the stored position, the light assembly sits generally flush with the clip. Accordingly, when the light is not needed, it can fold compactly out of the way, and the clipboard can have the shape and size of a conventional clipboard. The light head may be attached to the clip by a link or arm having pivot joints at each end, to allow the light head to be aimed.

Abstract: A clipboard may be assembled from a backboard and a clip assembly by sliding the clip assembly onto the top edge of the backboard. The clip assembly and the backboard are shaped so that the clipboard assembly has a substantially continuous contour along its top edge. Specifically, the top edge of the backboard is spaced away from the remainder of the top edge in the area where the clip assembly is attached. The amount of spacing away corresponds to the thickness of a lip that depends from the clip assembly and engages the top edge or the backboard in the area where the clip assembly is attached. The clip assembly is retained on the backboard by flanged rails that engage slots in the backboard and by ramped projections that engage detents and the backboard.

Abstract: An apparatus for retaining at least one sheet against a back surface is disclosed herein. In at least one embodiment, the apparatus comprises a wedge member, a roller member, a biasing member, and a release mechanism. The roller member is moveable between a first position where the roller surface contacts the wedge member and a second position where the roller surface is separated from the wedge member. The biasing member biases the roller member toward the first position. The release mechanism is connected to the roller member and moveable between a clamp position and a release position. The release mechanism moves the roller member from the first position to the second position when the release mechanism is moved from the clamp position to the release position.

Abstract: Improvements in the instruments for drawing lines using grooves providing the presentation of lines that may be drawn by placing a sheet of paper over the presentation and engaging the sheet of paper with the point of a writing tool with sufficient force to press the engaged part of the paper into a selected groove and then moving the writing tool point within the line, depositing pencil lead or ink from the end of the writing tool on the paper that is pressed into the selected groove to form a line on the paper. The improvements include the provision of registration marks on a clipboard which has the presentation of grooves for lines to be drawn on the upper side of the clipboard, the registration marks acting as guidelines for the precise placement of the sheet of paper on which lines are to be drawn and its retention in that placement by a clip attached to the end of the clipboard and engaging the end of the sheet of paper for such retention.

The shape as seen from the side resembles a comma rotated so that the tail is the base. The back portion upon which the book or magazine rests is at a 45 degree angle to the base. The polyurethane foam is covered with fabric that can have any kind of design or color on it. Abstract: A writing mat comprises a writing surface which may be magnetically secured to a ferrous metallic surface of a vehicle and may be left in said secured position while the vehicle is in motion. Preferably, that vehicle surface is a generally horizontal surface so that the writing mat is held and used substantially horizontally. Said writing mat may have disposed, upon its upper surface, an engaging and retaining means for securing papers thereon, and a recessed area for placement and containment of small items. Preferred embodiments are flexible, for generally matching the contour of the vehicle surface upon which it is placed and for easier removal by “peeling” or otherwise pulling the mat off of the vehicle.

Abstract: An improved pocket-sized book capable of one-handed manipulation. The book has informational pages among which a user may navigate by using only the hand holding the book. The book has finger slots for receiving the fingers of a user and a thumb restraint for securing the thumb and thumb mass to prevent both from interfering with either the turning of the pages or the user's view of the information printed thereon. By placing his or her finger on one of the tabs and providing an upward rotational force on the book, a user is able to open the book to the desired section and view the information printed on the pages therein. A guard attached to the side of the book blocks the lateral movement of the pages so that the pages do not become askew.

Abstract: A device for facilitating the reading of a book by holding its pages in an open position, includes an elongate member formed of telescopically-engaged inner and outer elements 107 and 108. The outer element 108 has a projecting platform 14 to support the cover of an open book B, and respective inwardly-directed end-pieces 101 and 102 are pivotally connected to the respective elements 107 and 108, with inwardly-directed finger portions 30 that hold the pages of the book by means of coil springs 203. A support leg 40 is slidably engaged with the outer element 108 to support the rear of the book while resting on its lower edge. The support leg can be angularly adjusted about an axis which is substantially parallel to the outer element 108 and can be rotated about an axis which is substantially perpendicular to the outer element. The leg 40 may have an inner core which is telescopically engaged within a non-slip outer cover.

Abstract: An elongated poster support arrangement comprising an elongated extrusion having an uppermost wall, a first tapered sidewall and a second tapered sidewall. The first and second sidewalls angularly extend from the uppermost wall. A central support wall is arranged between the first and the second tapered sidewalls to define a first longitudinal chamber between the first tapered sidewall and the central support wall and also to define a second longitudinal chamber between the second tapered sidewall and the central support wall. An arrangement of gripping members is loosely disposed within the second longitudinal chamber. The second chamber is arranged to receive a poster therein for pinched securement between the gripping members and the central support wall.

Abstract: An integral tab system for a 2-D or 3-D tab for a folder, and a method of making same is disclosed. The integral 2-D (flat) tab (20) is provided in the hanging folder itself without the need for additional tabs being affixed. The 3-D tab version (120) is created by an extension which is folded onto itself so that one edge surface is at an angle relative to the panels of the file folder allowing it to be read from the side. These tabs may also be supplied in a detachable form.

Abstract: A book holder for supporting and protecting an article of reading material is provided. The book holder includes a spine, a pair of cover panels, each of the cover panels is hingidly to the spine permitting the pair of cover panels to be rotated into an open position and to be rotated into a closed position. The book holder is adapted to receive and support an article of reading material in an open position when the book holder is open and for enclosing and protecting the reading material when the book holder is closed. A page holder assembly is provided to hold the reading material open and for marking a page. The page holder assembly can also include a line marker for marking a line of text in the reading material. In additional embodiments, an illumination means for illuminating the reading material and a magnify sheet for magnify the reading material may be provided.
