  • Patent number: 5125689
Abstract: Packages for sets of promotional or other articles (such as lottery tickets or coupons) which conceal information included on the articles, and methods of forming the packages, are disclosed. Embodiments of the package include even (or odd) numbers of integrated panels of equal size, pairs of which panels are separated by fold lines. A four-panel package may be folded along the first and third fold lines so that the inner face of each panel contacts the inner face of an adjacent panel. The package then may be folded along the second fold line so that the exposed outer faces of the remotest panels contact, thereby forming a package having the length and width of a single panel. Sets of tickets or articles equal to the number of panels (or multiples thereof) may then be formed simultaneously by creating areas in the folded package completely defined by lines of weakness.

  • Patent number: 5021110
Abstract: A process for preparing self-adhesive multilayered labels which comprises the steps of printing main and supplementary label messages on a label stock simultaneously by a label printer, cutting the label stock thus printed into halves, and then superimposing the halves of the label stock thus cut in a manner so that the face paper carrying the supplementary label message is releasably superimposed on and in alignment with the face paper carrying the main label message. After printing the main and supplementary label messages simultaneously in two parallel rows, the label stock is cut lengthwise into halves. One half of the label stock is peeled off its release paper and its face paper alone is forwarded on the conveyer line. The other half of the label stock is forwarded on the conveyer line together with its release paper.

  • Patent number: 4955640
Abstract: A business form suitable for use as a packing list or invoice attached to the package, and having the portion which serves as a shipping label to which variable address information may be applied, is produced in a simple and effective manner. Label stock and a bond paper portion are glued together at an overlapping section. Tractor holes may be provided in the free edges of the label and bond portions to facilitate driving through a printer. An adhesive strip on a first face of the label stock and another adhesive strip on a second, opposite face of the bond portion, holds the sections of the form together when it is Z-folded (accordion folded). The release liner on the label stock is removed to apply the form onto a package. The first face of the form may be printed utilizing a non-impact printer, with variable information. The second face of the form may be printed with non-variable information at a manufacturing location.

  • Patent number: 4720408
Abstract: Carbon paper duplicating sheets, such as those used in credit-card transaction forms, are made easily destroyable after authorized use without hand-soiling by incorporating, into the tissue paper base of the carbon paper sheets, filament strands arranged in repetitively alternating angular relationship to the edges of, and throughout, the carbon paper sheets. Duplicating-ink-free areas are provided at opposite edges of each sheet so that it may be grasped between the thumb and fingers of each hand to render the used carbon paper shredded, uncopyable and therefore safely disposable. The addition of perforations in the paper base in selected areas may be made to enhance the easy destructibility of the duplicating sheets.

  • Patent number: 4703933
Abstract: A game piece formed of a strip of sheet material folded into a packet containing a plurality of overlaying panels. First and second panels of equal dimensions are connected along a common end edge by a perforated line. The second and third panels are separated by a fold line. Two perforated lines are formed on opposite sides of the fold line. Additional perforated lines are formed along the longitudinal edges of the first, second and third panels, as well as the outer end edge of the first panel. The third panel is folded over the second panel and the first panel is folded over the third panel after adhesive has been applied to the peripheral edges adjacent the longitudinal perforations and end perforations on the first panel to secure the first, second and third panels together into a closed form. Tearing of the overlaying perforations enables the first, second and third panels, each of which bears advertising or promotional indicia to be completely separated from each other for individual use.
