Abstract: A children's book includes pages having text in a first orientation and pages in a second orientation, the first and second orientation related by being upside down relative to each other. As a child reads the book from a first end, the child encounters up a page with writing in both orientations, instructing him to turn the book upside down, close, and re-open the book. As the child re-opens the book that was turned upside down, the story continues from the opposite end of the book.

Abstract: A resin sheet includes a plastic layer and at least one cylindrical lens. The resin layer has a first surface and a second surface that is the surface on the opposite side from the first surface. The cylindrical lens is formed on the first surface and extends along a first axis. The resin layer is provided with a print portion that is colored by exposure to a laser beam. The print portion includes a focal point of the cylindrical lens. The resin layer is configured allow a laser beam that enters the cylindrical lens to pass through to the print portion.

Abstract: An apparatus for teaching fine motor skills to a special needs student. The apparatus has a plurality of different personal life-skills training tools that more accurately replicate the skill encountered in real life. When the apparatus is arranged in its primary orientation and rests against the student's body, the life-skills training tools replicate the orientation of the objects relative to the orientation encountered by the student in real life. The apparatus includes a configurable platform having a plurality of walls. A plurality of hinges pivotally connect each wall with at least one other wall. The walls of the platform can be oriented and arranged in at least a first configuration forming a housing enclosing the training tools, and a second configuration wherein all of the walls are coplanar. The walls can also be oriented and arranged in at least a third configuration wherein none of the walls are coplanar.

Abstract: Binding equipment and false cover forming equipment for hardcover books are disclosed. The false cover forming equipment carries out false covers, by positioning a pair of endpapers in correspondence of lateral binding flaps of a respective backstrip, arranging folds of the endpapers at a pre-assembling distance associated with the thickness of the text block and gluing margins of past-down sheets of the endpapers with binding edges of the backstrip. The binding equipment is feedable, at a cover input “IC”, with the false covers for carrying out book blocks by gluing the backstrips of the false covers with the binding edges of corresponding text blocks and refolding the pairs of endpapers on the respective text blocks. An electronic processing unit is settable for the control of the false cover forming equipment and the binding equipment as a function of the dimensions of the hardcover book to be bound.

The cover boards are only attached to each other via the cover strips and can be rotated and turned inside-out. One book can have two different appearances simply by rotating the cover boards with respect to each other. Abstract: The present invention relates to a photo journal scrapbook which combines the attributes of a photo album, a scrapbook, and a journal in a single book. The book has a number of pages, a front and back cover, and a binder to hold the binder and pages together. The book may also include pocket pages to include larger items, and can be supplemented by the addition of pop-in pages by the user. Each page of the photo journal scrapbook has two different sides so that when the photo journal scrapbook is opened, frames for displaying photographs are present on one page, while lines with text prompts are present on the other page. This facilitates the inclusion of textual description alongside the included photographs. The photo journal scrapbook also utilizes variable size frames that can be altered to fit photographs of a variety of sizes.

Printed indicia may also be located on or beneath said carrier.

The holes may be elongated.

Abstract: A soft book comprised of foam pages bound by a book binding portion and a plurality of page binding portions is presented. A front cover page, a rear cover page, and at least one page, each having a perimeter, are provided, with the pages forming a spine portion, with the book bound such that at least a portion of the perimeter each page is approximately flush with the binding portions. The pages of the book may include impressions or cutouts that may be made in various shapes. Cutouts may provide a puzzle-type game for children. Various binding materials may be used, preferably chosen to provide sufficient support for the flexible foam pages.
