Abstract: An ultraviolet curing pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet prepared by forming an ultraviolet curing pressure-sensitive adhesive layer on at least one surface of a substrate film and adhering a separator to the surface of the ultraviolet curing pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, wherein the separator has an ultraviolet transmittance at a wavelength of 300 to 400 nm of 65% or lower. The separator is obtained by forming a layer containing an ultraviolet absorber on the surface of the substrate film opposite the surface adhering to the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer or incorporating an ultraviolet absorber in the film. The ultraviolet curing pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet is useful as a semiconductor-protective pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet and a semiconductor wafer-fixing sheet, which can be used without causing a curing reaction with the exposure of a slight amount of ultraviolet rays from a surrounding environment at the standby for adhering wafers.

Abstract: The use of an adhesive tape for detecting the unauthorized broaching of a package, by virtue of the fact that on removal from the surface of a package the adhesive is irreversibly destroyed and clearly indicates an attempted broaching by being destroyed by tearing, or by splitting in the thickness direction, the adhesive tape having a backing based on cellulose acetate, cellulose diacetate, cellulose triacetate or cellulose hydrate of low tear propagation resistance, one side of which backing has been provided with an adhesive composition.

Abstract: A label sheet includes a release liner having a leading edge for first traveling through a printer. An overlay is adhesively bonded to the liner. The overlay includes a feed strip extending laterally across the liner adjacent the leading edge thereof. A narrow label and a wide label are disposed laterally along the feed strip at corresponding die cuts for permitting individual removal thereof. The die cut at the leading edge of the narrow label has an interrupting tie therein for locally joining the narrow label to the feed strip, with the wide label having a continuous die cut at its leading edge without interruption.

Abstract: A multiple-layer label having a base sheet and a resealable top sheet in laminated arrangement to define a peripheral margin and an interior area. The top sheet is adhesively hinged to the base sheet in a first area of the peripheral margin and releasably adhered to the base sheet in substantially the remainder of the peripheral margin. A first informational sheet is adhered to the rear interior area of the top sheet. A second informational sheet is adhesively hinged to a portion of the front interior area of the base sheet. The label thus provides multiple sheet surfaces for informational text. The sheets of the label turn like the pages of a book, yet can be enclosed and substantially sealed by the top sheet to protect the informational sheets from environmental damage. The label may be permanently adhered to the product so that the user will not lose or separate the informational text from the product.

Abstract: A label laminate includes a label for printing a recipient first address, with a release liner disposed thereunder. The label is releasably bonded to the liner and is removable therefrom. The liner is transparent to view a recipient second address hidden behind the label until removed.

Abstract: A label includes a bottom panel and a top panel overlying the bottom panel. A tear line is formed in the top panel. A hole is formed in at least one of the top and bottom panels. An exposed adhesive is disposed in the hole. The label may be opened by tearing along the tear line and the label may be resealed using the exposed adhesive.

Abstract: A method of enhancing the three-dimensional effect of a plastic part and the label used therewith is disclosed. A label for enhancing the three-dimensional visual effect which comprises a plastic core and/or, an insulating layer, and/or a heat-activated adhesive backing is disclosed. The label is aligned on the surface of a relieved mold. When plastic is forced against the back surface of the label, the label is stretched and forced into the relief along with the plastic. The label adheres to the plastic part by either a heat-activated adhesive backing or the core forms a melts/weld interface with the molded part creating a permanent bond between the label and the molded part.

Abstract: A tamper evident seal for applying to an envelope having a first face closed by a flap and a second face, the seal comprising a strip having a first panel joined to a second panel by a fold line, each panel having a first side and a second side, the first side of each panel bearing adhesive and the second side of a panel bearing indicia showing that postage has been paid, the arrangement being such that in use a panel adheres to each face of the envelope with a panel overlying the flap.

Abstract: A combination shipping label/invoice form, including a shipping label section detachably secured along a dividing border to an invoice section, the shipping label section bordered at a first edge by a first marginal strip and at a second edge by a second marginal strip, the invoice section bordered by a third edge and a fourth edge, the shipping label section being wider between the first and second edges than the invoice section between the third and fourth edges, such that folding the invoice section along the dividing border and against the shipping label section results in the invoice section lying between the first and second edges of the shipping label section, where the lower side of the first and second marginal strips is coated with adhesive.

Abstract: A description is given of a multi-ply label for applying information to primary or secondary packages, having a marking area which is enlarged with respect to the package areas, comprising a flat base element which is suitable for fixing the label on the package to be labeled, or which is itself part of the package, one or more flat information carriers, which are fixed to the base element such that they can be folded, and a hold-closed means which can be activated and deactivated and which prevents the label being folded out or turned over unintentionally and, if necessary, components which permit the security closure of the package.

Abstract: A coupon card assembly (10) having a first card half (12) and a second card half (14). Both the first (12) and second (14) card halves include a liner (20, 26) and two layers of card stock (22, 24, 28, 30) sandwiching the respective liner (20, 26) therebetween. A number of mini-coupons (36) are detachably cut into each of the card halves (12, 14) through an inner layer of card stock (24, 30). The card assembly (10) is characterized by a living hinge (40) interconnecting the first card half (12) with the second card half (14) to define a dual coupon card assembly (10) wherein the first card half (12) may be folded upon the second card half (14). The subject invention provides a structurally sound coupon card assembly (10) with numerous mini-coupons (36) wherein the coupon card assembly (10) may be folded to form a relatively compact card preferably the size of a standard credit card.

Abstract: Laser labels comprising: a) at least one polymer layer; b) a self-adhesive composition coated on one side of said at least one polymer layer; c) a printing ink applied by printing between said self-adhesive composition and said at least one polymer layer; and d) optionally a release paper or release film covering said self-adhesive composition; are useful for anti-counterfeit marking. The printing ink can be printed on the polymer layer before the self-adhesive composition is applied to the polymer layer.

The film (8) is transparent so that the printing on the substrate (2) can be seen through the film (8).

Abstract: The lottery ticket is composed of base sheet (1), cover sheet (2) and ticket sheet (3) lying therebetween. Base sheet (1) and cover sheet (2) are adhered to each other in the edge region (6). The adhesive means is strip-shaped. In addition, base sheet (1) and cover sheet (2) are perforated to each other. Said perforation (9-12) is line-shaped and lies in said edge region (6) provided with glue. The distance of the perforation (9-12) from the edge (4, 5) of base and cover sheet (1, 2) is in the region of 2-4 mm. The ticket sheet (3) is thus completely surrounded by a border (6) of glue and by a border (9-12) of perforations lying therein. The six surfaces of base sheet (1), ticket sheet (3) and cover sheet (2) are provided with a plurality of imprints in base areas covering one another. Due to these imprints which cover one another and hence cross one another, the ticket sheet (3) cannot be deciphered by means of examining against the light when the lottery ticket is unopened.

Abstract: A release coating composition containing about 50 to about 75 wt. % of an epoxy functional silicone; about 8 to about 25 wt. % of a reactive solvent; about 5 to about 25 wt. % of a reactive diluent; about 6 to about 12 wt. % of a wax-treated silica powder; and, about 2 to about 4 wt. % of a photoinitiator is disclosed. The composition is useful in preparing a low-gloss release coating for use on linerless labels.

Abstract: A tamper-evident form for securely carrying information includes a scrambling pattern (4) which underlies the printed information such that the printed information cannot be read. Separation of the printed information and scrambling pattern, or other disabling of the scrambling pattern, is tamper-evident and renders the information readable. In preferred embodiments the information is printed on a lamina (6) which overlies the scrambling pattern (4). The information can be printed by conventional printers and no post-processing of the form is required to render the information secure.

Abstract: A label (6) for re-closable packages (1) has an application side (8) on which a layer of self-adhesive glue (20) is spread for application to a surface (7) of a re-closable package (1) to achieve a predetermined adhesive strength. The application side (8) is siliconized in a manner such that the adhesive strength between the side (8) and the layer of self-adhesive glue (20) is less than the predetermined strength. After application, the layer of glue (20) is transferred to the application surface (7), eliminating the risk of tearing of the re-closable package (1).

Abstract: A card having an adhesive layer for allowing the card to be removably attached to any desired structure. In one embodiment of the invention, the adhesive layer is applied to one of the surfaces of the card and a layer of liner material is disposed over the adhesive layer. Peeling off a portion of the liner material exposes a portion of the adhesive layer. The card can be removably attach to the desired structure by pressing the exposed adhesive layer against the structure. In another embodiment of the invention, the card has a pressure sensitive label portion and a coupon portion. The label portion includes a layer of adhesive between a layer of sheet material and a layer of liner material. Peeling off a portion of the liner material exposes a portion of the adhesive layer. The card is removably attach to the desired structure by pressing the exposed adhesive layer against the structure.

Abstract: A drug dispensation method and apparatus significantly reduces the likelihood that a nurse or other health care personnel will inadvertently administer the wrong drug to a patient. The method and apparatus identify a classification and a characteristic of a drug.

Abstract: A label or transfer adapted to mark an elastomeric article includes a cured elastomeric sheet which is overcoated with a heat resistant polymer preferably a thermoset polyurethane. Indicia is then applied to this heat resistant polymer layer using a thermal transfer printer. The indicia is then overcoated with a second protective layer preferably a clear thermoset polyurethane. The backside of the cured elastomeric film is applied to a surface of the elastomeric article which is being marked. The elastomeric article is then subjected to a cure cycle bonding the elastomeric sheet to the surface of the elastomeric article and permanently marking the article with the indicia. In a preferred embodiment, the indicia is a bar code.

Abstract: A label assembly includes first and second longitudinally aligned portions releasably adhered to a liner with one of the portions having a side dimension greater than a width dimension of the other portion. After marking the label portion with the desired indicia, the label can be removed and applied to the desired object. Then the overlaminate portion having the larger side dimension can be removed from the liner rotated 90° and placed over the label to complete the overlaminate protected label assembly.

Abstract: An adhesive composition that includes the reaction product of (a) a polyester-based polyurethane; (b) an epoxy resin; (c) an epoxy-functional silane; and (d) an isocyanate-functional compound, and multilayer laminates in which this adhesive composition is used to bond two polymeric substrates together where at least one of the substrates has an ink-bearing surface.

Abstract: The present device provides a baggage tag attachable to the handle of a piece of baggage for displaying indicia of the identification and destination of a passenger owning the baggage. The tag has a first or base ply and a second tear-resistant ply or liner. The underside faces of the base ply and tear-resistant liner are arranged for engagement with one another. An adhesive is disposed between the base ply and the liner for releasably sealing them together. It is preferred that a release coating be applied to the underside face of the liner. This allows the removal of the liner from the adhesive layer, allowing the adhesive to remain with the base ply. The base ply and liner each have cuts proximate one end thereof defining a claim stub. Upon removal of the claim stub, a length of the underside face of the base ply adjacent the base ply cut is exposed with the adhesive permitting the two tag ends to be secured around a bag handle.

Abstract: A multi-part, partially pre-printed form useful as an airbill has address information printed thereon by a non-impact printer. Different configurations of the form are described, including panels overlappingly affixed together by an adhesive having removable strips defined by cuts through the top overlapping panels. The center panel is transparent or at least translucent. The address information printed on the outer panels is in a mirror image format relative to the information printed on the transparent panel.

Abstract: A label for an electronic price tag includes a panel having an opposite face and back, and a border surrounding a removable strip for overlaying a visual display of the tag. An adhesive is disposed on the label back for bonding the label to the tag. And, a barrier is disposed on the adhesive under the strip for desensitizing adhesion of the strip with the tag display. The strip is readily removable from the label and display since the barrier degrades adhesive effectiveness.

Abstract: A label sheet includes an overlay attached to a liner by an adhesive. The liner includes adjoining relatively low and high adhesion surfaces. And, the adhesive bonds together the overlay and liner at the high adhesion surface and allows separation of the overlay at the low adhesion surface.

A notebook may further be provided in the property maintenance scheduling system. The notebook is used for detailing the procedure for each property maintenance task to be performed during the month. Abstract: A repositionable securement strip with message for business and courtesy cards includes a strip of paper having a front side and a back side and further having a first narrow band of repositionable adhesive disposed transversely on the back side for removably attaching the strip of paper to an object. The repositionable securement strip further includes a second narrow band of repositionable adhesive disposed transversely and intermediate on the front side for removably securing the card thereon and also includes a special message being informational or courtesy imprinted near the bottom edge on the front side of the strip of paper. This repositionable securement strip allows the user to neatly arrange and removably secure the card to an object to substantially prevent the loss of the card before the receiver even receives it.

An exposed adhesive is disposed in the hole. The label may be opened by tearing along the tear line and the label may be resealed using the exposed adhesive.

Abstract: A template sheet forming postal meter labels or combination postal meter/address labels are described upon which postal indicia can be printed, by a non-impact printer, less than one-quarter inch from the edge of the label. The sheet includes a plurality of removably affixed meter tape or meter tape/address labels positioned on one face of a laminated individual or continuous feed sheet. The combination meter tape/address labels are self-aligning for conforming to United States Postal Service IBIP specifications.

Abstract: Disclosed is a heat-sealable adhesive label with a built-in spacer and methods of its manufacture. The adhesive label of the present invention includes a substrate having a first surface and a second surface, and an adhesive coating disposed on the first surface of the substrate. The adhesive coating includes an adhesive and a plurality of spacer particles that impart roughness to the adhesive coating. Methods of making and using a heat-sealable adhesive label also are disclosed.

Abstract: A product authentication system and method employs a unique mark that is simple and cost-effective to apply and read, but provides several layers of protection, including anti-counterfeit and anti-diversion, against counterfeiters. The unique mark includes a bar code that is printed in invisible ink comprising a UV or near-IR ink and an IR mark. The first layer of protection is invisibility. The second layer of protection is the bar code itself. The third layer of protection is the presence of the IR mark in the unique mark. The fourth layer of protection is the IR emitting characteristics of the IR mark.

Abstract: A set which can be printed on in a simple manner with reduced waste material. The set is formed of a flat supporting sheet and a plurality of flat repositionable adhesive information carriers each having a front and a back and are provided on their back with a layer of contact adhesive. All adhesive information carriers are disposed above one another and staggered with respect to one another on the supporting sheet in such a way that the first adhesive information carrier with its layer of contact adhesive is detachably disposed on the supporting sheet and the next adhesive information carrier in each case is disposed with its layer of contact adhesive detachably on the front of the adhesive information carrier lying below it, wherein in each case a region of the front of the underlying adhesive information carrier is not covered by the adhesive information carrier lying above it. All the adhesive information carriers have the same length.

Abstract: A mailing assembly for use in connection with non-domestic delivery of a mailpiece wherein the sender of the mailpiece is required to complete the sender's declaration. The assembly includes a mailing label, a tracking area, and a backing sheet. Alternatively, the assembly includes a mailing label, a tracking area, a receipt card, and a backing sheet. The mailing label and tracking area are detachably connected to each other and form an entirely complete mailing form. The mailing label, the tracking area, and the receipt card may form the entirety of the mailing form. Such form is adhesively connected to the backing sheet. An adhesive layer is provided between the mailing form and the backing sheet. The sender provides all of the necessary information on the mailing label relating to the contents of the mailpiece being delivered. The sender may also add a machine-readable code to the tracking area which aids in the tracking of the mailpiece.

Abstract: A specimen container label is particularly suited for use by robotic elements to improve the tedious process of aliquoting urine samples to increase productivity and decrease costs in laboratories. The label has a substrate with top and bottom surfaces and pressure sensitive adhesive provided on the bottom surface to effectively secure the label to a specimen container. The substrate also includes a central enlarged, preferably circular in plan, portion, with at least one wing, typically two opposite wings, extending outwardly from the central enlarged portion, and an opening in the substrate at the central portion which allows a robotic element to handle a specimen container cover over which the substrate central portion is applied. The opening may be covered with a glassine patch, which is easily pierced by the robotic element. The label may initially be provided with a release liner of the same dimensions and configuration, and the wings may be necked down where they engage the central portion.

Abstract: An identification card strip assembly including a support strip having thereon at least one, and preferably a plurality of identification card blanks removably and adhesively adhered to the support strip. Each identification card blank has a front printing surface for printing indicia thereon and a rear adhesive surface having an adhesive thereon. The rear adhesive surface is removably and adhesively adhered to the support strip. The card blank includes a first sheet and a second sheet foldably connected to each other along a fold line. Each sheet has at least one substantially identically shaped aperture therein.

Abstract: A label for labeling containers, preferably cylindrical containers. The label has at least one removable tag and an attachment for detachably attaching the removable tag. In particular, the label includes a base part having a first adhesive layer on its bottom side, and an overlapping part which at least partially covers the base part when the label is placed on the container. In this way optimum use of the jacket surface of a labeled container can be achieved.

Abstract: The composite label form includes two sections both of which is to receive printed information and one which carries various labels. The label section includes a removable prescription label in a front ply which upon removal pulls a carrier section or insert from a back ply which, in turn, with the prescription label carries a plurality of information labels from the front ply. The prescription label can then be peeled from the carrier section or insert and applied to a prescription vial. One or more of the information labels may also be peeled from the carrier insert and applied to the prescription vial.

Abstract: A shelf talker sheet includes a plurality of labels arranged head-to-head in a common sheet along a separation line. Each label has printing thereon inverted on opposite sides of the separation line.

Abstract: A business form is provided which is particularly useful in shipping products where certain preprinted information can be provided and then individualized information is printed before the form is applied to a substrate. The form includes a face ply which has a pattern of adhesive applied to at least a portion of the inner face, and a release liner which includes a pattern of adhesive which exposes a portion of the release liner to direct adhesive contact to the face ply without intervening release coating to permanently adhere a part of the release liner to the face ply. The release liner has a surrounding protective border provided with release coating on the release face thereof and which is removed prior to application to the substrate, and a slip which remains with the form as applied to the substrate. The face ply includes lines of perforation defining a central portion.

Abstract: A special service mail form constructed of a sheet of paper and a backing sheet adapted to simplex printing so as to allow use of the special service mail form is a self-help, kiosk. The sheet of paper is divided into two sections by a line of weakness. The first section provides a return post card having printed indicia on the front surface associated with special service mailers such as PS Form 3811. The second section includes two adhesive backed removable labels. Return address information is printed onto one of these two labels. To assemble a special services mailer, the return address label is removed from the remainder of the sheet of paper and applied to the appropriate area on the back of the return post card. The backing sheet is attached to a back surface of the sheet of paper to protect the adhesive applied to the back of the labels from exposure prior to their detachment from the remainder of the sheet of paper.

Abstract: An assembly for mailing an article requiring delivery by a special service and a method and system for imaging the same are provided. The assembly includes a generic mailing label having a back side adhesively and detachably affixed to a backing sheet. The label may be imaged with all of the information necessary to serve as one of many types of special service mailing labels. Removal of the label from the associated backing sheet allows the label to be permanently affixed to a mailpiece. Upon delivery of the mailpiece, a return receipt postcard portion of the label may be removed and forwarded to the sender of the mailpiece as a return receipt. A method and system for the automatic imaging of such mailing label are also provided wherein the sender of the mailpiece may obtain a special service mailing label from a vending-type machine upon providing all of the required information for the desired special mailing service.

Abstract: A two part identifying and instructional booklet having a label part and a booklet part. The front of the label has a small unvarnished region. The booklet is folded and glued closed with the free edges secured interiorly. An adhesive is printed onto the unvarnished region of the label and the folded booklet is adhered to the unvarnished region. The booklet has a tab portion to facilitate opening of the book during use. The tab portion faces the identifying portion of the label which extends longitudinally outwardly from the unvarnished region. The label may be placed onto a cylindrical container and bent in the longitudinal direction whereby the spine and folds of the booklet remain straight, flat and parallel to each other.

Abstract: A business card assembly having a standard wallet-sized card with top and bottom surfaces. Business card identification information is printed on the top surface. Two or more adhesive-backed removable labels are secured to the bottom surface of the business card, and each of these labels has the business card identification information printed on it. The labels may be peeled off and placed, for example, in one's personal planner, file, or other convenient location. The card may be a traditional flat style, or a tent style. The card may also include a release liner beneath the removable labels, the release liner also optionally including additional printed information.

Abstract: A releasing agent is applied to opposite side edge portions of a tack sheet to form releasing regions. A laminated sheet provided with an adhesive layer having exposed opposite side edge portions is overlaid on the tack sheet. The laminated sheet is bonded to the tack sheet through portions of the adhesive layer not corresponding to the releasing regions. The laminated sheet is punched to form a plurality of divisions, and the divisions are bonded to the tack sheet by the portions of the adhesive layer not corresponding to the releasing regions. Portions having a desired figure of the tack sheet are punched out to provide adhesive labels.

Abstract: A shipping laminate includes a label for printing a recipient first address, with a release liner disposed thereunder. The label is releasably bonded to the liner and is removable therefrom. The liner contains a recipient second address hidden behind the label, and is viewable upon removal thereof.

Abstract: A label adapted for use on optical disks including an adhesive portion and an edge strip portion formed near the edges of the label and a release paper. After tearing off the edge strips of the release paper, the label can be adhered to a sheet of paper using the adhesive portion so that patterns or words can be printed on a labeling portion of the label. The labeling portion is provided with an annular portion and a central portion at the center thereof. AFter printing, a through hole of the central portion can be aligned with the central hole of the optical disk so that the label can be directly and conveniently adhered to the center of the optical disk without using any tools.

Abstract: A transactional control system, a promotional system, and a redemption system including a set of a card and a removable and reusable label. The removable and reusable label having a first side printed with indicia thereon, and a second side coated with a reusable adhesive layer suitable for affixing the label to either a first or a second planar side of the card. The label, printed with a registration indicia thereon, can be removed from the transaction card without leaving residue on the card and can be affixed to a registration form for registration of a holder of the transaction card. Alternatively, the label printed with a redeemable coupon indicia thereon, can be removed from a promotion card and affixed to a transaction receipt for associating a particular transaction with the redeemable coupon. In another embodiment the label is printed and scored to form individually removable segments which can be removed from the redemption card and redeemed.

Abstract: A decal organization tool for products needing large numbers of decals utilizes a single large sheet on which all product decals for a specific product or product model are carried. The invention includes a means by which the previously unavoidable irregular margins surrounding the decals are effectively hidden from the eye and allows large sheet printing of decals with an aesthetically satisfactory overall appearance. An irregularly zone is added to the edge of each decal, and along with an ultraviolet responsive additive placed in the decal adhesive, allows the decal to form an indelible footprint on the product to which it is applied. The footprint, invisible to the eye, becomes visible under ultraviolet light, allowing identification of a specific decal and proof of its application to a product, even when the decal is no longer on the product.
