    Abstract: An ultraviolet curing pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet prepared by forming an ultraviolet curing pressure-sensitive adhesive layer on at least one surface of a substrate film and adhering a separator to the surface of the ultraviolet curing pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, wherein the separator has an ultraviolet transmittance at a wavelength of 300 to 400 nm of 65% or lower. The separator is obtained by forming a layer containing an ultraviolet absorber on the surface of the substrate film opposite the surface adhering to the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer or incorporating an ultraviolet absorber in the film. The ultraviolet curing pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet is useful as a semiconductor-protective pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet and a semiconductor wafer-fixing sheet, which can be used without causing a curing reaction with the exposure of a slight amount of ultraviolet rays from a surrounding environment at the standby for adhering wafers.

The overlay includes a feed strip extending laterally across the liner adjacent the leading edge thereof. A narrow label and a wide label are disposed laterally along the feed strip at corresponding die cuts for permitting individual removal thereof. The die cut at the leading edge of the narrow label has an interrupting tie therein for locally joining the narrow label to the feed strip, with the wide label having a continuous die cut at its leading edge without interruption.

    Abstract: A multiple-layer label having a base sheet and a resealable top sheet in laminated arrangement to define a peripheral margin and an interior area. A first informational sheet is adhered to the rear interior area of the top sheet. A second informational sheet is adhesively hinged to a portion of the front interior area of the base sheet. The label thus provides multiple sheet surfaces for informational text. The sheets of the label turn like the pages of a book, yet can be enclosed and substantially sealed by the top sheet to protect the informational sheets from environmental damage. The label may be permanently adhered to the product so that the user will not lose or separate the informational text from the product.

Due to these imprints which cover one another and hence cross one another, the ticket sheet (3) cannot be deciphered by means of examining against the light when the lottery ticket is unopened.

The card can be removably attach to the desired structure by pressing the exposed adhesive layer against the structure. In another embodiment of the invention, the card has a pressure sensitive label portion and a coupon portion. The label portion includes a layer of adhesive between a layer of sheet material and a layer of liner material. Peeling off a portion of the liner material exposes a portion of the adhesive layer. The card is removably attach to the desired structure by pressing the exposed adhesive layer against the structure.

    Abstract: The present device provides a baggage tag attachable to the handle of a piece of baggage for displaying indicia of the identification and destination of a passenger owning the baggage. An adhesive is disposed between the base ply and the liner for releasably sealing them together. It is preferred that a release coating be applied to the underside face of the liner. This allows the removal of the liner from the adhesive layer, allowing the adhesive to remain with the base ply. The base ply and liner each have cuts proximate one end thereof defining a claim stub. Upon removal of the claim stub, a length of the underside face of the base ply adjacent the base ply cut is exposed with the adhesive permitting the two tag ends to be secured around a bag handle.

    Abstract: A specimen container label is particularly suited for use by robotic elements to improve the tedious process of aliquoting urine samples to increase productivity and decrease costs in laboratories. The label has a substrate with top and bottom surfaces and pressure sensitive adhesive provided on the bottom surface to effectively secure the label to a specimen container. The substrate also includes a central enlarged, preferably circular in plan, portion, with at least one wing, typically two opposite wings, extending outwardly from the central enlarged portion, and an opening in the substrate at the central portion which allows a robotic element to handle a specimen container cover over which the substrate central portion is applied. The opening may be covered with a glassine patch, which is easily pierced by the robotic element. The label may initially be provided with a release liner of the same dimensions and configuration, and the wings may be necked down where they engage the central portion.

The prescription label can then be peeled from the carrier section or insert and applied to a prescription vial. One or more of the information labels may also be peeled from the carrier insert and applied to the prescription vial.

The form includes a face ply which has a pattern of adhesive applied to at least a portion of the inner face, and a release liner which includes a pattern of adhesive which exposes a portion of the release liner to direct adhesive contact to the face ply without intervening release coating to permanently adhere a part of the release liner to the face ply. The release liner has a surrounding protective border provided with release coating on the release face thereof and which is removed prior to application to the substrate, and a slip which remains with the form as applied to the substrate. The face ply includes lines of perforation defining a central portion.

    Abstract: A special service mail form constructed of a sheet of paper and a backing sheet adapted to simplex printing so as to allow use of the special service mail form is a self-help, kiosk. The sheet of paper is divided into two sections by a line of weakness. The first section provides a return post card having printed indicia on the front surface associated with special service mailers such as PS Form 3811. The second section includes two adhesive backed removable labels. Return address information is printed onto one of these two labels. To assemble a special services mailer, the return address label is removed from the remainder of the sheet of paper and applied to the appropriate area on the back of the return post card. The backing sheet is attached to a back surface of the sheet of paper to protect the adhesive applied to the back of the labels from exposure prior to their detachment from the remainder of the sheet of paper.

    Abstract: An assembly for mailing an article requiring delivery by a special service and a method and system for imaging the same are provided. The assembly includes a generic mailing label having a back side adhesively and detachably affixed to a backing sheet. The label may be imaged with all of the information necessary to serve as one of many types of special service mailing labels. Removal of the label from the associated backing sheet allows the label to be permanently affixed to a mailpiece. Upon delivery of the mailpiece, a return receipt postcard portion of the label may be removed and forwarded to the sender of the mailpiece as a return receipt. A method and system for the automatic imaging of such mailing label are also provided wherein the sender of the mailpiece may obtain a special service mailing label from a vending-type machine upon providing all of the required information for the desired special mailing service.

The booklet is folded and glued closed with the free edges secured interiorly. An adhesive is printed onto the unvarnished region of the label and the folded booklet is adhered to the unvarnished region. The booklet has a tab portion to facilitate opening of the book during use. The tab portion faces the identifying portion of the label which extends longitudinally outwardly from the unvarnished region. The label may be placed onto a cylindrical container and bent in the longitudinal direction whereby the spine and folds of the booklet remain straight, flat and parallel to each other.

A laminated sheet provided with an adhesive layer having exposed opposite side edge portions is overlaid on the tack sheet. The laminated sheet is punched to form a plurality of divisions, and the divisions are bonded to the tack sheet by the portions of the adhesive layer not corresponding to the releasing regions. Portions having a desired figure of the tack sheet are punched out to provide adhesive labels.

In another embodiment the label is printed and scored to form individually removable segments which can be removed from the redemption card and redeemed.

    Abstract: A decal organization tool for products needing large numbers of decals utilizes a single large sheet on which all product decals for a specific product or product model are carried. The invention includes a means by which the previously unavoidable irregular margins surrounding the decals are effectively hidden from the eye and allows large sheet printing of decals with an aesthetically satisfactory overall appearance. An irregularly zone is added to the edge of each decal, and along with an ultraviolet responsive additive placed in the decal adhesive, allows the decal to form an indelible footprint on the product to which it is applied. The footprint, invisible to the eye, becomes visible under ultraviolet light, allowing identification of a specific decal and proof of its application to a product, even when the decal is no longer on the product.
