  • Patent number: 9556699
Abstract: A conductor pipe connector assembly for coupling a pressure containing component to a conductor pipe of a subterranean well includes an annular slip bowl circumscribing the conductor pipe. An annular slip segment is located between the slip bowl and the conductor pipe. A slip actuation ring is located between the slip bowl and the slip segment, the slip actuation ring having a beveled surface in sliding contact with one of the slip bowl and the slip segment. An elongate annular piston member circumscribes the conductor pipe and is coupled to the slip action ring, the piston member is movable by a pressure medium, such as hydraulic fluid or pressurized gas, to an engaged position to urge the slip segment radially inward against the conductor pipe.

  • Patent number: 7703554
Abstract: A toothed pipe gripping die insert has textured surfaces on the die surface opposite the pipe gripping teeth to reduce the insert-to-insert carrier contact surface area to increase unit loading such that selected loads forcing the die insert against its carrier impresses the textured pattern into the carrier surface to reduce the tendency for the die insert to slide on the die carrier surface.

  • Patent number: 6918618
Abstract: The present invention relates to a PVC-pipe, axially-tensioned joint. The pipe joint comprises a first PVC pipe having a spigot end, wherein the spigot end has a circumferential groove in and circumferentially around the outer surface of the spigot end. An inner ring is fitted into the groove in the spigot end and has a radial edge which forms a substantially radial shoulder circumferentially around the inner ring. The pipe joint also comprises a second PVC pipe having a bell end, wherein a plurality of angularly-spaced-apart holes extend radially through the bell end. The bell end of the second PVC pipe is fitted onto the spigot end of the first PVC pipe. There is a set of radial fasteners, wherein each given one of the radial fasteners extends through one of the plurality of angularly-spaced-apart holes in the bell end such that a first end portion of the fastener abuts against a shoulder of the inner ring.

  • Publication number: 20020163190
Abstract: A connector for connecting two tubular members has a pin and a box, the box having a bore that receives the pin in stabbing engagement. The bore having a grooved profile, and a split lock ring mounted to the pin, the lock ring snapping into engagement with the grooved profile in the box when the box and pin are stabbed together to lock the tubular members together. An annular wedge shoulder is located on the pin axially spaced apart and facing a rim on the box. The wedge shoulder and rim are inclined relative to each other, resulting in a closer axial distance between them at outer diameters of the pin and box than farther inward. An annular recess is located on the pin at an inner portion of the wedge shoulder, the recess having an inner wall facing outwardly.
