    Abstract: A clampless coupling which attaches a hose to a nipple without need of a clamp at the end of the hose to ensure sealing, including a connector and a nipple of a fluid system component. The connector is sealingly pre-connected at one end with a hose; the opposite end is in the form of a sleeve. The sleeve features a notch at its forward end, a boss on a resilient lock arm, and an O-ring seal. The nipple has a pocket depressionally formed on its outside nipple surface and an alignment tab. In operation, a user slides the sleeve over the nipple by pressing the connector toward the near end of the nipple. As the sleeve slides over the nipple, the tab is received by the notch to align the connector with the nipple, the boss drops abuttably into the pocket, and the O-ring seal sealingly compresses between the nipple and the connector. A seal assurance feature reveals improper connection when a pressure test is undertaken.

    Abstract: A combination sheath and frost-resistant wall hydrant include a hydrant having a wall-penetrating conduit and intermediate wall bracket. There is an internal valve seat between the bracket and indoor or inlet end, and so is located in a presumptively warm indoor climate and spaced back from the wall and/or outdoors so as to reduce chances of freezing outdoor temperatures freezing water stopped behind the valve seat. The sheath telescopes over the hydrant's inlet end until the sheath's leading end mates against the hydrant's bracket. The leading end is vented for venting leakwater from the hydrant outdoors and not indoors in cases if the hydrant bursts by freezing because water got stopped in the conduit between the valve seat and outlet and failed to drain despite an open outlet. The sheath's trailing end seals onto the hydrant somewhere behind the valve seat.

    Abstract: A pump which is designed to be mounted within a recirculating water system where a portion of the recirculating water is diverted (bypass water) and cause to flow through the motor chamber with this recirculating water to absorb heat that is produced during the operation of the motor. The heated bypass water is then added back to the recirculating water. The pump includes an electric motor which is mounted within a pump motor chamber of a motor housing and is completely enclosed therein. The pump motor chamber is filled with oil thereby submerging of the electric motor in oil. A water conducting tube is mounted within the pump motor chamber and surrounds the electric motor. The tube inlets water from the pressure side of the pump impeller, conducts this bypass water entirely through the tube and then discharges the bypass water into the inlet of the recirculating water to the pump impeller.

    Abstract: The present invention is direct to a method of connecting a piece of tubing to an outlet manifold of an oxygenator that prevents excessively high positive or negative pressure from forming in the oxygenator and helps to minimize the possibility of misidentifyig the outlet connector. The outlet connector is hollow and substantially cylindrically tubular in shape so that a hollow inner conduit is formed. The outlet connector is in fluid communication with the outlet manifold of an oxygenator through the inner conduit. In one embodiment, the outlet connector has an elongated hole extending through the tubular material of the outlet connector into the hollow inner conduit formed therein. The elongated hole is preferable large enough to be felt by the fingers of the person connecting tubing to the outlet connector. The elongated hole is preferably arrow shaped with the arrow pointing in the direction of fluid flow out of the outlet manifold.

    Abstract: A hose coupling shroud for enclosing and securing coupled ends of a pair of hoses, particular those of the type used to convey an abrasive media under high pressure. The shroud has tapered portions at oppositely-disposed ends thereof, openings at the oppositely-disposed ends for receiving the hoses, and vents to allow excess pressure and media to be released from the hose coupling shroud in the event of a coupling failure. Radially-projecting ribs within the tapered portions secure the coupled ends of the hoses within the shroud in the event of coupling failure, and form a pair of sealing barriers between the coupled ends and the openings at the oppositely-disposed ends of the shroud. The tapered portions reduce the likelihood that the hose coupling shroud will become snagged on an object as the hoses are pulled through a work environment.
