  • Patent number: 11451030
Abstract: A tubular snap-in connector includes one or more elastically mounted retaining tabs formed integrally with the connector. The retaining tabs permit the connector to be selectively connected to an electrical junction box by inserting a body of the connector into an appropriate opening in the junction box, advancing the body of the connector forward so that a wall of the junction box depresses a ramp portion of the retaining tabs, and continuing to advance the body of the connector forward until a wedge portion of the retaining tabs passes the wall of the junction box, at which point the retaining tabs spring outwards. A rear wall of each wedge engages an inner wall of the junction box to retain the connector within the box.

  • Patent number: 8708374
Abstract: A sealing ring having a flexible ring body and a front and rear seal separated by a channel and a set screw recess adjacent one end. The sealing ring is placed on the end of a set screw electrical fitting or connector and forms a seal between the body of the set screw electrical fitting or connector and the exterior surface of an electrical conduit. The sealing ring prevents concrete from entering a gap formed between the body of the set screw electrical fitting or connector and an electrical conduit during pouring of concrete. Concrete entering the gap may interfere with electrical connections.

  • Patent number: 8690194
Abstract: A transition coupler for coupling a flexible metal conduit (FMC) to an electrical metallic tubing (EMT) or rigid conduit comprises a housing with a hollow cylinder having an aperture passing therethrough, the aperture for receipt of an EMT or a rigid conduit. The cylinder includes an extension with recesses. The first shell member is secured to the extension and is shaped to support an FMC. The shell member has first and second flanges, the first flange having apertures and the second flange having an elongated groove. A second shell member has first and second flanges, the second flange having an extending projection for passage through the elongated groove of the first shell member, thereby providing for securement of the FMC to the transition coupler upon receipt of screws through the first and second shell members. A ring having tabs is inserted within the recesses of the extension.

  • Patent number: 7914048
Abstract: A coupling device that provides a liquid tight seal at the connection with a conduit with easy installation. The device comprises a tubular connector body, a compression nut, a first sealing ring, a second sealing ring, a ferrule, and a lock nut. The coupling device may be installed fully assembled and does not require disassembly of the packaged product before installation. In the connector body a radial ledge is formed within the tubular spaces between the first and second ends. The radial ledge of the connector body has at least one depression. The ferrule has a tubular body with a radial flange extending from a first end portion. At least one protrusion extends from the radial flange that corresponds to the depression on the tubular body. When the depression of the tubular body engages the protrusion of the ferrule, it restricts the ferrule from relative rotation. This restriction allows that the coupling device be installed fully assembled.

  • Patent number: 7390027
Abstract: A water proof electrical connector assembly for securing metal tubing to a junction box or in an end to end connection having a connecting body with opposed open ends, and an electrical metal tubing secured to at least one open end. The open end includes a linear length sized to snugly receive the end of the metal tubing and a diverging linear length immediately adjacent the open end. A sealing gland having a complementary tapered outer surface with a radially outwardly extending flange and a split compression ring fitted onto the metal tubing so that when assembled, the sealing gland provides a fluid tight seal, and the split ring effects a mechanically tight, electrically grounded, connection between the connecting body and the metal conduit.

  • Patent number: 7338087
Abstract: A connector fitting for fixing a longitudinal body, for example, a cable, a hose, a pipe, a corrugated hose to a wall opening. The connector fitting includes a chuck, which penetrates the opening and includes slits that extend in an axial direction. The chuck is radially outwardly expandable, in an insertion direction behind the opening into a clamping region containing the slits, and can be tightened on an outer side or in front of the opening of the housing by the thread and a matching tensioning nut, such that the clamping region can be withdrawn into the opening and thus braced against the longitudinal body. The tensioning nut includes an abutment acting in the axial direction and the chuck comprises a counter-abutment adjacent to its thread section, and the counter-abutment exerts pressure on the abutment in a released position of the chuck.

Abstract: A rain tight fitting for connecting electrical metal tubing to a panel. The rain tight fitting includes a tubular body having an inner bore and a rearward end. A threaded outer periphery and a seal ring seat are included on the rearward end. A seal ring is disposed against the seal ring seat and a compression ring against the seal ring. A compression nut is threaded upon the rearward end and tightened thereon to force the seal ring tightly into the seal ring seat and against the outer periphery of the metal tubing. An effective rain tight seal is formed by the close tolerances between the inner periphery of the seal ring and the outer periphery of the metal tubing and by the hardness of the seal ring.
