  • Patent number: 9089672
Abstract: An introducer assembly is provided with a sheath and a positioning device. The positioning device is able to be configured between released and locking conditions, wherein in the released condition the device can be slid along the outer sheath of the introducer. In the locked condition, the position device is locked to the sheath. The position device is used to fix the length of sheath which can be inserted into a patient and thereby to set the position of the distal end the sheath and thereby the position at which a medical device would be deployed in the patient. The positioning device includes a coil spring with a plurality of coil turns able to apply an even compressive force to the sheath in all radial directions in order to minimize the chance of collapse of the sheath as a result of compressive force.

  • Patent number: 7611170
Abstract: A hose having a compressible wall which is adapted to be connected at one end thereof to a nozzle of a sprayer. The other end is attached to a stub pipe or stem extending from a tank of the sprayer which can contain a pressurized liquid which flows through the hose and is sprayed via the nozzle. The coupling provides a quick connection for the hose to the pipe stem and also allows the coupling/hose assembly to freely rotate 360° while remaining sealed. The coupling is an assembly of a nipple and a sleeve retainer having a throat which compresses the hose wall and provides a retainer, retaining the end of the hose on the nipple. A spring clip is sprung apart as the assembly of retainer, nipple, and hose is seated on the pipe stem. To disconnect or release the coupling, the spring clip is spread apart to free the assembly.

  • Patent number: 4635966
Abstract: A composite connector assembly for easily and quickly making a connection between a flexible hose and an inlet fitting such as on a heat exchanger. The connector includes an elongated nipple-shaped fitting having an enlarged bead on its free end over which the hose end is extended during a connection. A cylindrical housing encircles the fitting and supports a radially outwardly distorted snap ring and associated spacer device maintaining the distortion so that the end of the hose can pass through the ring's center as it extends over and along a central body portion of the fitting. The housing includes a reduced diameter portion to engage the distorted snap ring to limit axial movement thereof as the hose is pushed over the body portion of the fitting. Resultant engagement between the axially inserted hose end and the parts of the snap ring spacer cause disengagement of the snap ring spacer from the snap ring allowing it to spring radially inward about the hose.

  • Patent number: 4556241
Abstract: The invention relates to a device to connect hose or pipe ends. Until now such a device comprised at least two non-deformable clamp parts with flanges extending inwards which serve to press a hose end onto a nozzle or which engage behind annular collars provided at the ends of the pipes. At the ends facing one another the clamp parts are provided with a mounting arrangement for a hinge-pin which connects these parts. To avoid the work entailed by providing such a mounting arrangement and by the assembling of a number of clamp parts, it is proposed according to the invention that the clamp-type ring is made as one piece and is produced of a material which can be deformed by hand and that the flanges are formed by a permanent shaping of the ring. In this way a far more inexpensive construction is obtained, which also has the advantage of a lower mass and requires less space.

  • Patent number: 4438952
Abstract: A quickly-attachable pipe coupling comprises a flexible tube having an internal diameter approximately equal to the outer diameter of the pipe to be coupled, and a cylindrical spring overlying the flexible tube. The cylindrical spring includes a closely-wound coil of flat spring material having more than one turn, and having an inner diameter in its relaxed condition less than the outer diameter of the flexible tube. The coil spring is partially uncoilable under stress to open by increasing its inner diameter at least to the outer diameter of the flexible tube. Thus, the flexible tube and the cylindrical spring thereover, when in its stressed open condition, may be applied over the end of the pipe to be coupled, whereupon the cylindrical spring may be relaxed to close and to cause it to compress the flexible tube into tight engagement with the pipe for the complete length of the coil spring.
