  • Publication number: 20150061283
Abstract: A coupling device for coupling to a fluid line includes a coupler body having an end portion with a threaded outer surface and a conical inner surface. A fastener threadedly engages the threaded outer surface of the coupler body. A ferrule includes a rotational driving portion and a clamping portion having a threaded inner surface. When a tube is inserted through the ferrule and the fastener and into the end portion of the coupler body, the fastener threads onto the coupler body and the conical inner surface of the coupler body engages an outer surface of the clamping portion of the ferrule to substantially clamp the clamping portion of the ferrule around the tube. With the fastener tightened, the ferrule is rotatable relative to the fastener and the coupler body and the tube, whereby rotation of the ferrule moves the tube further into the coupler body.

  • Patent number: 8622093
Abstract: A vibration-resistant reinforced concrete watertight pipe, at opposite ends of which coupling units formed of a separate material are formed, and a method of manufacturing the same are provided. The vibration-resistant reinforced concrete watertight pipe includes a reinforced concrete pipe having a reinforcement mat, which is assembled with longitudinal reinforcements and transverse reinforcements, disposed in a concrete layer, and a convexity coupling part and a concavity coupling part that are coupled to opposite ends of the reinforced concrete pipe and have coupling ridges and coupling furrows respectively. Here, the coupling part and the concavity coupling part are formed of a synthetic resin, which is different in physical properties from the reinforced concrete pipe, and have the same shape and thickness as the reinforced concrete pipe. Each of the convexity coupling part and the concavity coupling part has a metal core installed therein to increase a coupling strength.

  • Patent number: 7858900
Abstract: The invention provides a method of making a component from first and second parts which are joined in a welding process wherein a laser beam is transmitted in a direction from a laser source and at least partly into a gap. The gap is made between edges of the component, and to enable a faster laser welding process, the laser has a focus point size which is at least of the size of the gap. To enable better control of the width of the gap, the invention further provides a method and components wherein one part is formed with a neck which extends into a complementary socket of the other part to prepare the parts for the welding process. The invention in particular concerns welding of brass.

  • Patent number: 6916248
Abstract: Flexible couplings are provided comprising a male member disposed within a female member in a spaced apart configuration, with the space being filled, at least partially, with an elastically deformable material. The male and female members comprise features that prevent separation from one another after the elastically deformable material is provided in the space between them. For example, the male and female members of one embodiment each comprise a threaded region, with the respective male and female threads being intermeshed but generally spaced apart from each other. At least one of the male and female threads is tapered in two opposing directions with respect to a coupling centerline. The double taper requires the elastically deformable material to be displaced for the male and female members to become separated. However, the elastically deformable materials are constrained by surfaces of the male and female members, and therefore, cannot be displaced.
