Patent number: 11543060Abstract: A pipe-fitting device capable of easily connecting pipes having different diameters includes a fitting body and a pair of fixing nuts. The fitting body includes a first channel portion having a first inner diameter formed in a first inner side of the fitting body, a second channel portion having a second inner diameter formed in a second inner side of the fitting body, the second inner diameter being smaller than the first inner diameter such that a step is formed inside the fitting body at the boundary between the first channel portion and the second channel portion. Each fixing nut is rotatably coupled to a corresponding open end of the fitting body and configured to fix the corresponding one of the first pipe and the second pipe through rotational tightening.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 2018Date of Patent: January 3, 2023Inventor: Brian B. Kim

Patent number: 11035506Abstract: A system for repairing irrigation poly-pipe comprises cooperating, user-deployable, inner stabilizer and an outer sealing band that are adhesively attached to prepared ends of the poly pipe to be joined. The stabilizer and sealing band are lightweight, and adapted to be disposed in flat, storage or shipping configurations prior to use. Each end of two flat poly-pipe end segments can be drawn over the stabilizer, abutting tabs at the stabilizer center. Adhesive on stabilizer segments may be exposed by removing tear strips to affix to the pipe ends. An externally applied sealing band has ends that can be manually grasped, for deployment around the pipe ends drawn over the stabilizer, coaxially surrounding the seam formed by the tabs at the juncture of the two pipe ends to seal it and waterproof it.Type: GrantFiled: February 19, 2019Date of Patent: June 15, 2021Inventor: Johnny Sam Dancer

Publication number: 20070241558Abstract: A pipe system includes first and second pipes having first and second ends welded together forming a girth-weld and a corrosion coating covering the girth-weld. In addition, a flexible sheet is provided to cover the girth-weld. The flexible sheet comprises a first structured layer that mechanically couples to the corrosion coating, where the corrosion coating permeates a substantial portion of the first structured layer. The flexible sheet also includes a second layer comprising a polymer layer adhered to the first layer, the second layer protecting the corrosion coating from mechanical or environmental damage. Alternatively, the protective cover comprises a polymer material and includes a port formed therethrough adapted to receive a delivery mechanism that delivers a corrosion coating to the girth-weld.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 9, 2007Publication date: October 18, 2007Inventors: Mark K. Nestegard, Mark T. Anderson, Dawn V. Muyres, Mario A. Perez

Patent number: 7051523Abstract: Exhaust system assemblies employ wire bushings for thermal compensation to minimize noise due to “stick-slip” while the system cools. In a preferred embodiment, the wire bushings are formed of at least one strand of wire coiled about male end portions of pipe sections used in the system, each of which male end portions are inserted into a female end portion and held therein by an interference fit. The strand of wire is spot welded at spaced locations to the male end portions to provide bearing surfaces between the spot welds that move slightly as the exhaust system heats and cools to relieve thermal stress in small, substantially inaudible increments.Type: GrantFiled: March 10, 2004Date of Patent: May 30, 2006Assignee: General Motors CorporationInventor: Douglas M. Patent number: 6676169Abstract: A connector for joining a segment of composite pipe is disclosed. The connector includes an end connector having at least one fiber trap on its outer surface thereof. The end connector is attached to a liner portion of the segment of composite pipe. Fibers forming an outer surface of the segment of composite pipe are wound around the at least one trap under tension. The connector includes a binder which impregnates the fibers. The tension is maintained on the fibers in the trap during cure of the binder.Type: GrantFiled: September 19, 2000Date of Patent: January 13, 2004Assignee: Hydril Company L.P.Inventors: Harris A.
