  • Patent number: 10520124
Abstract: A pipe cap assembly for a normally-sealed system includes a pipe cap having a base portion. The pipe cap includes a connector portion extending from the base portion. A fluid passage extends through both the base portion and connector portion. A transition cap may be releasably coupled to the connector portion for sealing the fluid passage during normal operation. A transition fitting provides periodic access to the sealed system and includes an access port at one end, and a tubular port and fastener at the other end. The tubular port and fastener releasably couple to the connector portion of the pipe cap to provide access. A drain hose, vent hose, or the like, may be easily coupled to the access port of the transition fitting. A test instrument may be coupled either to the access port or directly to the connector portion.

  • Patent number: 10443774
Abstract: A cam lock fitting having a rotating female portion which may include a safety lock which prevents separation of the male and the female portions of the fitting to prevent inadvertent pressurized discharges. Rotation of the female portion is accomplished by placing a connecting collar on the rear of the female end portion so that the female portion rotates about the connecting collar. The safety lock mechanism operates by placing opposing notches in the end of the male portion so that when the cam levers are opened the male and female portions of the cam lock fitting initially only slightly separate allowing the operator to quickly reclose the cam lock fitting if it contains pressurized material. The rotating female portion easily aligns the cam lobes of the cam lever with the notches on the male coupling so that the male and female portions can be separated.

Abstract: Method and apparatus for a safety lock assembly for a cam lock fitting mounted onto the outside of the cam lock fitting so that the safety lock mechanism is in close proximity to the cam levers so that when the cam lock fitting is pressurized and the operator attempts to open the cam lock fitting the safety lock mechanism will prevent operation or separation of the male and the female portions of the fitting. This is accomplished by having slidable axles mounted in elongated slots in the bosses adapted to slide in response to movement of a safety lock mechanism handle so that the male and female portions of the cam lock fitting initially only slightly separate allowing the operator to quickly reclose the cam lock fitting if the operator observes that the cam lock fitting is still pressurized.

  • Patent number: 8240718
Abstract: A quick-connect sanitary fluid connector system provides for connection of a sanitary fluid system to an industry standard, flanged sanitary fitting. The standard fitting is placed in abutting relation to a sanitary gasket and to a first fitting of the quick connector, and at least two eccentric cams operated by cam levers press against the back surface of the standard connector flange, thereby applying pressure to the juncture and forming an abutted sanitary seal which avoids fluid entrapment within the connector. The joining pressure can adjustable by threaded rotation of the first fitting within a connector body. The cam levers can include locking holes and pins for locking the levers in their locking positions. Insertion of the standard fitting can automatically open the cams, and springs can automatically return the cam levers to their locking positions. Spring retracted telescoping cam levers can be automatically latched in their locking positions.

  • Patent number: 8146957
Abstract: In certain embodiments, a PCA connector has a polyethylene body, wherein the polyethylene is durable, corrosion resistant, and exhibits excellent strength over a large range of temperature and moisture conditions. The polyethylene body may be described as a single structure with integral features, such as a bearing portion, a latch housing portion, a latch guide portion, and so forth. Thus, the number of parts is significantly reduced by the one-piece design of the body. In addition, the PCA connector may include a latching mechanism configured to secure the PCA connector to an aircraft. For example, the latching mechanism may include a pair of levers, which engage a pair of latches on opposite sides of the polyethylene body. In some embodiments, the levers may be rotated in opposite directions relative to one another to impart movement of the latches in the same direction, e.g., an axial direction.
