  • Patent number: 10480699
Abstract: A quick connector and assembly therewith is provided. The connector includes a housing having a tubular housing wall with an inner surface extending between open opposite ends with at least one locking opening extending through the wall. The inner surface bounds a through bore and forms a radially inwardly extending shoulder. A retaining member has an annular retainer wall with inner surface sized for receipt about at least a portion of the housing wall. The retainer wall has at least locking member resiliently biased radially inwardly for receipt through the opening of the housing wall in axially spaced relation from the shoulder by a gap, in which the annular collar of the insertion member is received and locked. The at least one locking member is restrained against substantial axial and rotational movement within the at least one opening, and thus, prevents unwanted removal of the insertion member from the housing.

Abstract: Fluidic coupling assemblies include a fitting body having a single integral piece or separable pieces such as male and female fittings such as luer fittings. The assemblies further comprise a rotatable fastening assembly having a drive collar and a driven member, and at least one resilient member having a spring bias that defines a threshold torque of the rotatable fastening assembly. The spring bias may be directed axially or radially with respect to the longitudinal axis of the fluidic coupling assembly. The resilient member is configured to prevent overtightening of the fluidic coupling assembly by allowing the drive collar to rotate the driven member only when less than a threshold torque is applied. The sleeve may be biased toward the clip by a dust seal abutting a shoulder of the sleeve distal from a lead-in end of the sleeve abutting the clip. Also, the sleeve may radially retain the clip, compressed in an annular groove of the stem, and/or the sleeve abutting the clip may stabilize the clip and axially align the clip with the stem, for insertion of the stem into the port.

Abstract: A coupler for connecting and disconnecting a first hydraulic connector and a second hydraulic connector. The coupler has a first end and a second end. The coupler first end has a threaded opening adapted to combine with a threaded connector. The coupler second end has an opening with several members movable relative to the longitudinal axis of the coupler. The movable members have a first position wherein they are moved outward to make the opening larger and a second position wherein they are moved inward to make the opening smaller. The opening in the coupler second end is adapted to receive a threaded connector when the movable members are in their first (larger) position. After a portion of the threaded connector is inserted into the opening, the members are moved to their second (smaller) position thereby securing the threaded connector to the coupler second end.

  • Patent number: 7533908
Abstract: A coupling assembly having male and female coupling members that are connectable and separable from each other. The coupling assembly utilizes a resiliently expandable locking element, which is provided on the male coupling member, to connect the male and female coupling members together by trapping the locking element, in its expanded position, between respective locking surfaces of the male and female coupling members. A locking sleeve, which is movable between unlocked and locked positions, is employed to move the locking element to its expanded position. In this position, the locking element prevents the withdrawal of the male coupling member from the female coupling member by creating a positive lock therebetween. To maintain the locking sleeve in its locked position, a retainer can be used.
