The threaded female pipe end is then threaded onto the threaded collar, the threads each being clocked so as to press the collar against the male pipe using the ring segments and into a sealed connection with the female pipe. A pin inserted through a pin hole in the collar and into a pin recess in the female pipe end holds the parts in place. The pin hole and pin recess are positioned relative to the clocked threads of the collar and female pipe.

    Abstract: A novel design for the connection of lengths of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) casing. Each length of casing has a male end and a female end. The female end has a narrowing interior diameter with its wider interior diameter at its outermost end sufficient to receive the male end of similar length of casing for connection. The diameter of the female end narrows to a diameter which is less than the outer diameter of the male end. The male end has a lip at its leading edge and is slotted and compressible when forced through the narrowed diameter of the female end. A groove in the interior surface of the female end is sufficient to receive the lip at the leading edge of the male end. When the lip at the leading edge of the male end reaches the groove, it allows the compressed male end to expand with the groove receiving the lip therein. The connected lengths of casing are locked together in this manner.

    Abstract: A sealing system with sealing ring for coupling members for connecting pipes to user devices such as pumps, compressors, tanks and the like, by means of a shank that screws into a seat provided on the said user devices, comprises a groove and an annular seal. The groove, which is shaped according to the teaching of international standard ISO UNI 5711-65, is situated in a position adjacent to the shank of the coupling member, at the opposite end from the end of the shank. The groove is able to receive the annular seal designed to be pressed against an abutting wall or a flared portion of the seat of the user device in order to establish the seal. In the original configuration prior to assembly, the sealing ring is of an essentially cylindrical shape, whereas, in the configuration of compression on the groove, it assumes a shape adapted to the profile of the groove, which is generally frustoconical.

    Abstract: A novel design for the connection of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) casing. Each length of casing has a male end and a female end. The female end has a narrowing interior diameter with its wider interior diameter at its outermost end sufficient to receive the male end of similar length of casing for connection. The diameter of the female end narrows to a diameter which is less than the outer diameter of the male end. The male end has a lip at its leading edge and is slotted and compressible when forced through the narrowed diameter of the female end. A groove in the interior surface of the female end is sufficient to receive the lip at the leading edge of the male end. When the lip at the leading edge of the male end reaches the groove, it allows the compressed male end to expand with the groove receiving the lip therein. The connected lengths of casing are locked together in this manner.
