Abstract: The invention relates to a connector device for plugingly connecting at least one media conduit. The conduit device (1) is composed of a housing part (2) comprising at least one receiving hole (4) for plugging in the conduit (6), and a clamping ring (8) which is arranged in the receiving hole (4) and cooperates with an inner cone (16) of the housing part (2) in order to lock the plugged-in conduit (6). The inner insertion piece (32) that is removably connected to the base piece (28) via a catching connection (30) and is provided with the inner cone (16). The insertion piece (32) is equipped with at least two radially elastic spring arms (40) so as to be able to remove the conduit (6), the free ends (48) of the spring arms (40) extending from the region of the inner cone (16) in the direction of the mouth side of the receiving hole (4). Radially outward-protruding catching extensions (42) of the spring arms (40) engage into corresponding catching holes (44) for detaching purposes.

Abstract: The invention concerns a coupling for tubes with a body with a neck (14) provided with two or more longitudinal recesses (15) and each of which is positioned a jaw (12) able to move radially between and expanded release position and a contracted lock position. The jaws can move from one position to the other by means of cam surfaces (24) provided inside a tightening nut (13) assembled and susceptible to partial rotation on the neck of the coupling body. Furthermore the nut has means for interacting with the neck to block it and prevent it from turning in the release direction.

  • Patent number: 7140645
Abstract: A coupler for coupling an end of a hose to a mating end of a faucet or another hose. In the first embodiment, the female end of the coupler is mechanically locked in sealing engagement with a male end by simply translation thereof by means of wedges and an outer retaining sleeve. In a second embodiment, hydraulic pressure provides the final seal, with the female end being a spring split-ring locked and compressed by means of an outer locking sleeve, which outer locking sleeve is released by squeezing it in order to deform it. A third embodiment combines the first and second-embodiments.

  • Patent number: 7089645
Abstract: A method of forming a fluid quick connect includes steps forming a housing having a split end retainer slidably mounted in a recess in at least one end of the housing. A first angular recess is formed in the housing adjacent the first end. The first recess communicates with a bore extending from the first end of the housing. The retainer is captured in the recess by deforming an extension of the first end of the housing angularly inward. In one aspect, a conical surface is formed inward of the extension to form the recess in conjunction with the deformed extension. The retainer and recess may be used at one end of the housing for connection with one endform or at both ends of the housing to fluidically couple two endforms.

  • Patent number: 6764107
Abstract: The present invention is a pre-assembled fitting or coupling having a body, a sleeve, and a nut. One end of the nut has a through bore that is tapered and decreases in diameter toward the end of the nut. The outer surface of the sleeve is tapered as well which facilitates the radial movement of the sleeve segments upon tightening locking the sleeve segments into the proper position on the corrugated tubing. The body contains an inner seal surface with improved geometry that effectively concentrates the sealing load over a pre-determined surface and prevents overloading of the seal surface area. The sleeve of the present invention is divided into four separate segments. The inner surface of the sleeve contains an annular spring. The spring on the inner surface facilitates the removal of the corrugated tube from the nut and coupling body by forcing the segments outward upon loosening the nut.

  • Patent number: 6581981
Abstract: A female fitting for pipes or tubes, particularly indicated for use in cramped quarters and under highly restrictive environmental conditions, has a split front section threaded with tapered translation-type threads. A hex-nut with commensurate and similarly tapered threads is used to cinch the split front section over an engaging pipe or tube. A circular groove within the fitting can nest an O-ring or other sealing collar. A flange with flattened parallel peripheral zones surround the fitting for reinforcement and to provide a convenient clamping surface. A cutting tool with dual pairs of cutting wheels is used to score two parallel channels around the end of the pipe or tube to receive a first sealing-ring made of compressible material and a second made of the same material as the pipe or tube.

Abstract: A split nut assembly (100) for joining a threaded pipe (90) with a flanged pipe (95), the split nut assembly having a two-piece split nut (110, 130) having locking pins (113, 133) that engage locking apertures (115, 135) to properly align the split nut. A locking ring (150) slidably engages the properly aligned split nut to hold the assembly together. Rectangular apertures (123, 143) are provided on the split nut, that engage corresponding channels (163) in the locking ring, whereby the locking ring is rotationally coupled to the split nut when assembled. Locking tabs (164) hold the locking ring in place after assembly. This split nut assembly allows the pipes to be joined without threading any hardware along the length of either pipe, and with the split nut threads (112, 132) engaging the pipe threads (92) without having to rotate the nut.
