Abstract: A connection arrangement for connecting two especially cylindrical oil-containing components contains two receiving rings, each having a hollow connecting piece attached radially to the outside of the receiving ring with a passageway that ends at the inside of the receiving ring. The outer end section of the passageway contains a thread, wherein the pitch of the threads of the two connecting pieces is different. The two connecting pieces are connected by a hollow screw having two threaded sections. The thread of one threaded section corresponds to the thread of one connecting piece, and the thread of the other threaded section corresponds to the thread of the other connecting piece. The receiving rings are connected to the components such that a fluid connection is provided between the inner chambers of the two components through the two connecting pieces.

Abstract: In a pipe joint where two pipe sections (14, 16) have threadably engaged end portions (17, 18), joint ends (32, 34) are substantially sealed to each other by a sealing surface (40, 50) on one pipe section that substantially abuts a sealing surface (42, 52) on the other pipe section. In one joint, a ring-shaped cutout (121, FIG. 7) is formed in a first pipe section and a ring-shaped spacer (120) is located in the cutout. The spacer is chosen from several that have slightly different lengths so the spacer end contacts the corresponding sealing surface (130). In a pipe string used to carry corrosive fluid, the inner surface (44) of adjacent pipe sections is covered with a corrosion resistant coating (70, 72). Where the sealing surface is connected to a rounded corner (82, 84), the coating extends to and along the sealing surfaces (40, 42). Where there are sharp corners (80) at the intersection of the inside surface (40) with the sealing surface (40B, 42B), the coating does not extend along the sealing surfaces.

The method comprises the steps of connecting a first expandable tubular in the form of a first section of the liner and a second expandable tubular in the form of a second section of the liner. A seal is located between radially overlapping portions of the liner sections, and the seal is configured to maintain sealing between the liner sections both pre and post expansion.

Abstract: A premium threaded tubular connection including, on at least one threaded element, a distal abutment surface at the free end of a threaded element, and a lip sealing surface at a given distance from the threading. The lip includes an appendix that extends the lip towards its free end beyond the lip sealing surface so that the lip has both high radial stiffness and low axial stiffness. This results in enhanced performance as regards the seal of the threaded connection under pressure and/or under tension, and other advantages of precision of real makeup torque, mechanical strength in axial compression, a shock barrier effect, and tolerance in engaging the threaded elements.

A male fitting having a series of male threads and a cylindrical extension terminating in the distal end of the male fitting is threadedly coupled to the female fitting. The threads are non-tapered and cylindrical. A mechanical connection between the male and female fittings is provided by the engagement of the threads, while the seal is formed between the gasket and the extension, thereby enabling orientation about the common axes of the fittings relative to one another for a full 360°.

Abstract: A connector arrangement used for connecting a first tubular to a second tubular. The first tubular member has at least one circumferential ring profile, and the second tubular member has a corresponding number of matching circumferential ring profiles. When the ring profiles of the two tubulars are mated and interlocked, they form separate and independent fluid seals as well as a mechanical lock able to hold the tubulars together during future expansion of the entire tubular and joint. Further, selecting properties of the tubulars such as yield strength and modulus of elasticity or constraining a diameter of one of the tubulars during expansion or compression forms a tight connection due to elastic recovery of the tubulars.

Abstract: Flexible couplings are provided comprising a male member disposed within a female member in a spaced apart configuration, with the space being filled, at least partially, with an elastically deformable material. The male and female members comprise features that prevent separation from one another after the elastically deformable material is provided in the space between them. For example, the male and female members of one embodiment each comprise a threaded region, with the respective male and female threads being intermeshed but generally spaced apart from each other. At least one of the male and female threads is tapered in two opposing directions with respect to a coupling centerline. The double taper requires the elastically deformable material to be displaced for the male and female members to become separated. However, the elastically deformable materials are constrained by surfaces of the male and female members, and therefore, cannot be displaced.

Abstract: In a hydraulic joint structure for joining respective tubular joint portions of two members, opposed pressure-contact surfaces of the two members for preventing loosening form a downstream space on the downstream side of a seal member. A passage is formed on the pressure-contact surfaces in such a manner that when working fluid leaks from the upstream side of the seal member to the downstream space via a clearance between the seal member and the tubular joint portions, the passage permits the working fluid to flow from the downstream space to an external space in the state in which the pressure-contact surfaces are in pressure contact. The passage is formed in such a manner that the passage extends in a circumferential direction of the thread portions, and communicates at one end with the downstream space and at the other end with the external space.
