The bell housing is elongated to accommodate the internal gasket recess, prefabricated and precisely placed gasket and flange. The flange receives a plurality of restraint components which secure the boltless pipe joint to a second pipe segment. The elongated bell housing also provides additional support.

Abstract: A piece mounted in a fixed, detachable, and sealed manner, on a rigid, annular collar of a second piece having an end opening, include an annular peripheral wall having an inner face that can come into contact with the outer face of the collar. The first includes a transversal wall that can enter the opening; and an annular wall forming a skirt, the inner face of the skirt including a part with a larger diameter, a part with a smaller diameter and an intermediate part that can come into contact with the conjugated parts of the outer face by clamping. The transversal wall and the skirt form one component and are made of a material having a high degree of flexibility enabling the piece, by manual external action, to be brought into an intermediate state wherein it is sufficiently enlarged to be slipped over or removed from the second piece, while remaining in the field of elastic deformation.

Abstract: A wafer-style valve assembly adapted to be coupled between opposing pipeline components having a common centerline secured together by a plurality of longitudinal fasteners includes a substantially cylindrical valve body, a seat retaining plate, and at least one clip. The valve body has a peripheral edge portion and an axial end surface. The seat retaining plate is disposed on the axial end surface. The at least one clip is also disposed on the axial end surface and extends radially outward of the peripheral edge portion. The clip has a radially inward portion and a radially outward portion. The radially inward portion secures the seat retaining plate to the to valve body. The radially outward portion has an edge defining a first recess and a second recess. The first and second recesses are each adapted to accommodate a longitudinal fastener to locate the valve assembly relative to the centerline of the pipeline.

Abstract: A gasket retention system and flange coupling has a ring gasket that disposes in seal seats on opposing flanges. One or more retainer tabs extend from an outer periphery of the ring gasket. Preferably, the ring gasket defines a slot on the outer periphery, and the retainer tab affixes with an interference fit in the slot to be held therein. The retainer tab defines a transverse opening therethrough. When the ring gasket fits into the seal seat of one of the flanges, the transverse opening of the tab fits onto a fastener affixed in a pre-drilled hole in the face of the flange.

Abstract: A flange connection for connecting e.g. two sections of a tube or pipe comprises two flanges and a sealing ring inserted into an annular sealing space defined by radial faces and axially extending peripheral walls between the flanges. The sealing ring has an annular main body and an outer periphery with a cross-sectional shape that has legs extending outwardly from the main body. These legs, in a condition prior to application of sealing pressure, are inclined away from each other and have rounded outer ends that abut both the radial faces and the peripheral walls defining the annular sealing space. The legs, in a condition where the flanges are forced against each other, are axially compressed and upset at least in a radial direction by plastic flow of material on the outer ends in sealing engagement with the axially extending peripheral walls.

Abstract: A threaded joint has a seal flange or device in order to avoid the seepage of external pressure of fluid inside the pipe. The sealing flange has an L-shape and is interposed in a housing between a pin and a box, and the flange-like annular portion of the flange helps to verify proper positioning of the flange during make-up and contributes to increase tightness of the joint because the external fluid pressure improves adherence of the sealing flange against the contact surfaces of the joint.

Abstract: The invention relates to a sealed mechanical connection between glass and metal for receiver tubes used in solar plants of the type using a heat-transfer fluid, which uses a mechanical force in order to establish the seal between the inner metal tubes and the outer glass tubes, between which tubes a high vacuum is established in order to prevent heat losses. According to the invention, a flexible, deformable metal joint is used for the above-mentioned seal, which joint, when duly compressed, adapts to the corresponding surfaces of the tubes to be sealed, thereby establishing the seal between the respective tubes. In addition, the invention can include a continuous system for maintaining the necessary vacuum between both types of tubes.
