  • Publication number: 20140167410
Abstract: The present invention relates to a connector for fluid lines having of a coupling part that can be plugged together with a counter-coupling part along a plug-in axis. A locking device releasably locks the coupling part together with the counter-coupling part. • Patent number: 7431344
Abstract: A connection system for sealingly interconnecting components of a high pressure fluid flow system, for example, an automobile engine air intake. The system can include a conduit defining a groove that is locked in a corresponding groove defined by a component, for example, an engine intake. An interlock ring is placed in the conduit groove. A clamp is placed over the interlock ring, however, the clamp and ring can be an integral component. When tightened, the clamp forces the ring into the conduit groove, which presses the conduit into sealing and/or locking engagement with the component groove.

  • Patent number: 7401820
Abstract: A connector is inserted into a connection hole provided on a fluid piping equipment, and the connector is prevented from dropping out via a retainer held by a retainer holding portion. The connector has a connecting portion including a flange stop portion, and a positioning means is disposed between the connecting portion and the fluid piping equipment. This positioning means is to position the connecting portion in a circumferential direction so as not to rotate relative to the connection hole and has a mounting angle adjusting function capable of positioning the connecting portion in the circumferential direction selectively at any one of a number of mounting angular positions relative to the connection hole. An annular surface on the other end in the axial direction of the stop portion is formed in a taper shape tapered toward the other end in the axial direction.

Abstract: Fluid coupling for connecting pressurised conduits. The coupling includes a spigot having a first circumferential groove disposed on an outer surface thereof and a socket having a second circumferential groove on an inner surface thereof. The spigot and the socket are adapted for axial engagement whereby the conduits are sealingly connected for fluid communication through the coupling and whereby the circumferential grooves are substantially in radial alignment. A releasable retaining member is moveable between a locked configuration, wherein the retaining member extends radially into both grooves to prevent axial disengagement of the spigot and the socket, and a release configuration wherein the retaining member is disposed substantially within one of the grooves and is substantially clear of the other to permit axial disengagement. The coupling further may include a release mechanism for moving the retaining member from the locked configuration to the release configuration.

Abstract: A pipe joint for joining pipes having a low surface energy and resistance to solvents. The components are an extrudable adhesive; a first pipe having a socket with an inside diameter, where the socket has a mouth, a self-centering bottom, and a cylindrical wall with an inlet, an outlet, and an inner annular channel; a second pipe having an insertion section with an end and an outer annular channel, where the second pipe has an outside diameter that is less than the inside diameter of the socket, the difference in diameters defining a gap and an interlocking keyway; and a flanged annular ring. The annular ring has an inside diameter that enables it to be slid over the second pipe and a thickness that is comparable to the gap. When the adhesive cures it forms a mechanical key. The adhesive is preferably an alkyl borane adhesive.

  • Patent number: 7331612
Abstract: A low profile tension style flexible joint for pneumatic ducting may be useful as, for example, a joint for aircraft engine pneumatic ducting. The joint of the present invention may be used at both ends of a duct that passes high temperature (up to about 1200° F.) and high pressure (up to about 110 psia) compressor air to the combustor of a turbomachine. Some turbomachines, such as the turbo engine of a jet-powered aircraft, require a very short curved duct to fit into an unusually small aircraft installation envelope. Moreover, these installations also require those features found in conventional flex joints, including being able to support the axial load inherent in pressurized ducting systems. Unlike conventional flexible joints, such as ball joints, gimble joints and pressure compensated joints, the low profile tension style flexible joint of the present invention provides a low profile, low weight design with the ability to support the axial load inherent in pressurized ducting systems.

Abstract: A pipe joint clamp for connecting piping members includes a circular holding portion in which flange portions of the piping members are clamped, and multiple flexion-shaped hinge portions, which protrude from the holding portion toward a diametrically outer side thereof. The hinge portions are resiliently deformable to accommodate a variation of outer diameters of the flange portions. Thus, a protrusion amount of the each hinge portion can be reduced. Accordingly, the space occupied by the clamp at the joint part of the piping members is decreased.

Abstract: A pipe lap joint for use with vehicle exhaust systems which includes an inside pipe end telescopically inserted into an outside pipe end with the pipe ends secured together by a band clamp. The outside pipe end includes a sealing zone having a collapsible sealing slot that enables the outside pipe end to be drawn tight over the outside surface of the inside pipe end via the band clamp to thereby provide a fluid-tight seal between the pipes. The sealing slot extends from an open end of the outside pipe end and includes a pair of opposing sidewalls each having a tooth and recess. As the band clamp is tightened, the sealing slot collapses such that the teeth of the sidewalls move into the opposing, complementarily-shaped recesses, while adjoining circumferential edges of the teeth engage each other to thereby form a fluid seal.

Abstract: A pipe joint apparatus and method using spiral groove halves formed on the nested surfaces of male and female pipe ends. The exterior half of the spiral groove is connected to an exit port. The interior half of the spiral groove has a proximal end recessed from edge of its pipe. Alignment of the pipes and partial insertion of the spline allows for a threaded pipe connection that may be screwed or unscrewed to overcome the pressure for the gasket seal. Full insertion of the spline to engage the exit port locks the spline in position and the interior half's proximal end prohibits the unscrewing of the pipe joint. The pipe ends may be easily disconnected by pulling the spline out of the exit port to unscrew the pipe sections or fully removing the spline to separate the pipe ends. A gasket is used to form a sealed joint.
