The clamping device can be operated with a single hand, being bent around the outside of the pair of flanges so that the clamping segments engage opposite faces of the pair of flanges and hold them together, and the latching elements are interconnected.

    Abstract: An engagement section of a holder is engaged with a metal gasket, the gasket is received in a tubular section, and the tubular section is fitted in a step of a connection pipe. Another connection pipe is placed close to and facing the connection pipe that holds the gasket through the holder, and a center ring is installed surrounding the outer peripheries of the flanges. While a trapezoidal section having slopes which define both sides is inserted into a groove, center ring segments are closed to form a ring shape. A bolt which penetrates through a cutout of a segment is screwed into a threaded hole of the segment. The screwing of the bolt causes the amount of insertion of the trapezoidal section, which has slopes which define both sides, into the groove to be increased. As a result, the distance between flanges is reduced and the contact pressure of projections against both sides of the gasket is increased.

    Abstract: A clutch for rigid but releasable connection of two coaxial parts of construction, preferably rotating shafts, having flanges centrally arranged at their proximate shaft ends, in which torque is transmitted by a frontal spur or cog gear. Both flanges are clasped by tension sleeves by means of radially protruding collars. The axial force arises by shrinking the tension sleeves which, in a heated condition, are radially positioned on the flanges. An advantage in connection with Cardan joints is that the external diameter of the clutch is no larger than a cross joint or universal, which can transmit the same torque.

    Abstract: Lockable meter retention rings for securing electric meters in meter boxes comprise an inner ring of multiple arcuate parts wherein the inner ring has spaced-apart inwardly extending flanges for holding the electric meter in the meter box and a steel outer ring which fits over and engages with the inner ring wherein the outer ring keeps the inner ring assembled. The outer ring has a lock enclosure which, together with a portion of the inner ring, defines an opening for receiving and retaining a barrel lock, the barrel lock securing the rings together. Bayonet and screw type engagements between the inner and outer rings are disclosed, with the barrel lock preventing relative rotation of the rings necessary to disengage them. Another form of engagement has a flange of the outer ring received by the inner ring, with the barrel lock securing the outer ring to the inner ring diametrically opposite the flanged engagement.

The arcuate grooves in the clamp segments are provided with antifriction bearings, e.g. ball bearings, roller bearings or bushings, and the segments are provided with external stops limiting the movement of the individual segments in clamps having four or more segments. This clamp type connector is secured on one of the conduits and is removed or installed with such conduit.
