Canted Ring Patents (Class 285/902)
  • Patent number: 9568127
Abstract: A mechanical coupling between a straight pipe end and a socket fitting comprises a seal ring and a locking ring disposed within the interior of the socket. The locking ring has a generally frustoconical shape with a plurality of corrugations extending circumferentially thereabout, the corrugations presenting inner edge portions engaging the outer annular surface of the pipe end and outer edge portions engaging the interior annular surface of the socket for opposing withdrawal of the pipe end axially outwardly from the socket. In an advantageous embodiment, the locking ring is assembled with a support disk to optimally orient the locking ring with respect to the fitting and the pipe end.

  • Patent number: 8997272
Abstract: A water outlet structure has a housing with an outlet and an opening. An inner pipe body is assembled into the housing via an assembly portion and connected to the outlet. An assembly ring flange is extended from the rear end of the inner pipe body, A locating ring inserted rotarily onto the rear end of the inner pipe body has a circumferential wall and a penetrating portion, so that said water pipe could pass through the penetrating portion, allowing its outlet end to be inserted into the inner pipe body. A leakproofing member is set between the water pipe and the locating ring or inner pipe body. A turn-lock locator is set correspondingly to the circumferential wall of the locating ring and the assembly ring flange of the inner pipe body, such that the locating ring and the inner pipe body can be rotarily locked and positioned.

  • Patent number: 7373674
Abstract: An improved system for attaching a tub spout to the rough in water supply pipe or stub-out which typically extends out of a tub wall. The improved tub spout includes a vertical ring clamp inside the spout for receiving the stub-out. The stub-out passes through an aperture in the middle portion of the clamp and then into a tubular receiver. By tightening a screw associated with the clamp, the clamp is tilted to engage the stub-out. By further tightening of the screw, the stub-out is drawn into sealed engagement with the interior of the spout and the spout is drawn tightly against the tub wall.

  • Patent number: 6857667
Abstract: A fluid quick connect includes a body having a conical, split end retainer slidably mounted in a recess in at least one end of the body. The retainer has a leading edge extending into a through bore in the body which is engagable with an annular flange on an endform inserted into the housing forcing the retainer angularly outward in the recess to allow passage of the annular flange of the endform past the retainer. A biasing force on the retainer due to the expansion of the diameter of the retainer moves the retainer back to a position in which the leading edge extends behind the trailing edge of the annular flange on the endform to latch the endform in the housing. The retainer and conical recess maybe used at one end of the housing for connection with one end form or at both ends of the housing to fluidically couple two end forms.

  • Patent number: 5224681
Abstract: A device for releasably gripping a shaft has a body with a central channel for receiving the shaft. The device also has an arrangement, mounted to the body, for gripping and releasing the shaft when a member of the arrangement, is respectively in first and second positions with respect to the body. A sleeve is disposed concentrically outside of the body, and is mounted for axial movement with respect to the body in such a manner as to cause axial movement of the member, so axial movement of the sleeve in a first direction will achieve release of the shaft. In this manner, one may grip the sleeve and, in a single motion, achieve release of the shaft and slide the device relative to the shaft.

  • Patent number: 5186501
Abstract: A self-locking connector comprising first and second tubular fittings, the first fitting having an annular intermediate shoulder and a threaded end, and the second fitting having an annular shoulder adjacent one of its ends. A nut is rotatably mounted on the second fitting and threaded to the threaded end of the first fitting, and the nut has a flanged end which is adapted to engage the shoulder on the second fitting to bring the two fittings into axially aligned mating and sealing relationships as the nut is tighten onto the threaded end of the first fitting. A frusto-conical shaped resilient lock washer is interposed between the shoulder on the first fitting and the nut. The adjacent edges of the nut and the washer have mating ramps formed thereon, with each ramp having an angle greater than the helical angle of the threads of the first fitting and of the nut.

  • Patent number: 5108066
Abstract: A hand releasable locking collar to secure objects or itself in a desired location on a shaft, bar or the like. The device comprises a housing, end cap, preload spring and clutch plate conformed to the shaft. The clutch plate is rotatably assembled within the device such that said device is free to move axially on the shaft when the clutch plate is positioned perpendicular to the axis of the shaft. When released, said clutch plate allows further tightening of the device by moving axially in the direction installed, but locks positively to prevent removal or movement in the opposite direction unless such clutch plate is again moved to the position of perpendicularity with the axis of the shaft.

  • Patent number: 4613172
Abstract: In a releasable plug-in socket coupling for one or more pipes or pipe elements sealingly insertable into a socket member, an annular groove-like chamber is provided for receiving a retaining element in the front area of the socket member. The retaining element, comprising individual, segmental portions, is held in the chamber by an elastic retaining ring. Each portion is tiltably supported with a correspondingly constructed top portion in the outer circumferential surface of the chamber and has on the side facing the pipe end surface a base portion provided with a first cutting edge and a second cutting edge spaced therefrom. An axially removable release ring is in operative connection with the retaining element so that when the release ring is axially displaced, the ring pivots the tiltable portions into the release position.
