  • Patent number: 6394504
Abstract: A clampless coupling which attaches a hose to a nipple without need of a clamp at the end of the hose to ensure sealing, including a connector and a nipple of a fluid system component. The connector is sealingly pre-connected at one end with a hose; the opposite end is in the form of a sleeve. The sleeve features a notch at its forward end, a boss on a resilient lock arm, and an O-ring seal. The nipple has a pocket depressionally formed on its outside nipple surface and an alignment tab. In operation, a user slides the sleeve over the nipple by pressing the connector toward the near end of the nipple. As the sleeve slides over the nipple, the tab is received by the notch to align the connector with the nipple, the boss drops abuttably into the pocket, and the O-ring seal sealingly compresses between the nipple and the connector. A seal assurance feature reveals improper connection when a pressure test is undertaken.

Abstract: A snap in locking cable connector is composed of two mating pieces that snap together and provide a connector for armored or metal clad electrical conductors. One piece includes a die cast member including a smooth outer cylindrical section having an inner diameter that may accommodate a spring steel adaptor with flanges to hold the spring steel adaptor in place. The spring steel adaptor is used in conjunction with an electrical junction box to fix the location of the locking cable connector with respect to the junction box. Another piece includes a spring steel locking ring provided to receive an armored cable and lock into the die cast member. The spring steel locking ring has tangs allowing unidirectional insertion into the die cast member and restricting withdrawal motion from the die cast member. The spring steel locking ring also includes oppositely directed tangs to permit reception of the armored cable in one direction and restrict its movement in the reverse direction.

Abstract: In its preferred embodiment, a quick connector (10) for connecting a male conduit (12) to a female receptacle (14) has a pair of waist segments (60 and 62), a body segment (56), and a pair of leg segments (68). Each of the leg segments (68) are defined by a pair of projecting elements (76) which are at least partially compressible toward one another thereby causing the pair of waist segments (60 and 62) to move toward one another. • Patent number: 6000729
Abstract: A connector is disclosed before attaching a flexible hose to a rigid tube in which the tube includes an outwardly and circumferentially extending bead around its free end. Both the hose and tube are circular in cross sectional shape. Furthermore, the hose is dimensioned so that, with the hose positioned around the tube and over the bead, the hose stretches outwardly and forms an annular bulge having a predetermined diameter around the bead. The connector includes an annular collar having a sleeve and radially inwardly extending flange at one of the sleeve. A circular throughbore is provided through the flange which has a preset diameter less than the predetermined diameter of the hose bulge around the bead. Similarly, an annular ring has an inside diameter less than the predetermined diameter and the ring is positioned over the hose. The ring and collar are secured together such that the ring and flange are positioned on opposite axial sides of the bead thereby securing the hose to the tube.
