Abstract: The purpose of the present invention is to provide a device for brush-polishing by means of a polishing brush that rotates and revolves as in a planetary motion, wherein the conditions to polish can be easily set in accordance with the properties of the workpiece and the purposes to polish. A brush unit has a polishing brush that rotates and revolves. The brush unit includes a mechanism for driving the rotation that rotates the polishing brush and the mechanism for driving the revolution that revolves it. By adjusting the speed of the rotation by the mechanism for driving the rotation the capabilities to polish the workpiece are enhanced. By adjusting the speed of the revolution by the mechanism for driving the revolution the entire workpiece is uniformly polished.

Abstract: A hinge is disclosed with a barrel having a reduced thickness compared to a conventional barrel hinge. The arms that form the barrel are reduced in thickness prior to curling the arms so that a relatively thin barrel is achieved. The disclosed hinge can therefore be used as a flush mount hinge with minimal alteration to the objects to which it is coupled. The hinge can also be used as a top mount hinge with fewer safety issues in, for example, boating operations, where the hinge may be located in an area typically walked upon by people or animals. The disclosed hinge is easy to manufacture because the small arms require less force to curl, and yet the hinge portions can remain relatively thick to couple together heavy objects requiring high structural stability.

Abstract: An exemplary hinge assembly includes a sleeve, a first member, a second member, and a resilient member. The sleeve includes a sleeve wall and an open end. The first member is received in the sleeve. The second member is located next to the first member. One of the first member and the second member have a cam, the other of the first member and second member have a cam follower interacting with the cam so that the first member rotates about an axis and the second member moves linearly along the axis when the cam follower follows the cam. The resilient member is fitted in the sleeve and provides an elastic force to bias the first member and the second member into contact with each other. At least one tab is formed adjacent to the open end and blocking a minor portion of the open end. The at least one tab retains the first, second, and resilient members in the sleeve for preventing them from escaping the sleeve through the open end.
