The gimbal press can include a force delivery component coupled to an upper plate having an internal depression, a lower plate having a ball bearing that accepts force from the upper plate via the internal depression, a flexible ring member, and a compliant annular component. Both plates have a plurality of interlocking features with grooves extending therethrough that accept the flexible ring member. Force is evenly distributed to the diaphragm via a gimbal effect at the ball bearing, and the flexible ring member centers the upper and lower plates with respect to each other while permitting some relative tilt and rotation between the plates.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 22, 2011Publication date: October 25, 2012Applicant: APPLE INC.Inventor: Patrick Kessler

Patent number: 8112856Abstract: A clamp of an anti-vibration spring includes a pipe body and a sheathing element fixed to an end the pipe body. Another end of the pipe body is fixed to a covering element. The sheathing element is passed through the external periphery of the pipe body. The pipe body includes a screw rod screwed at the moving element, and an end of the screw rod is protruded from an end of the covering element and fixed at a driving element. A connecting element between the sheathing element and the moving element positions the sheathing element and the moving element. Each sheathing element has a connecting portion including a transversal slot, two clamping disc, and an insert portion on the clamping disc connected to the transversal slot and fixed by a positioning element. By turning the driving element, the anti-vibration spring is compressed or released between the two clamping discs.Type: GrantFiled: August 5, 2008Date of Patent: February 14, 2012Assignee: Yakita Metal Industry Co., Ltd.Inventor: Chia Hao Huang

Patent number: 8091194Abstract: The system according to the invention allows the separation of two equipment items of an installation in a confined environment, without interrupting the confinement inside this installation. It primarily comprises a confinement flange (10) placed tightly between the two parts of the installation, and comprising a slot (12) protected by a temporary cover (11). The assembly is completed by a guillotine made up of two closure plates (20A, 20B) pressed against each other before their insertion into the slot (12). Once this insertion of the guillotine is complete, the two closure plates (20A) and (20B) can be separated from each other so as to each constitute a tight covering of the two parts of the installation to be separated. Application to confinement installations for the implementation of vacuum intervention methods where one wishes to maintain a special confinement.Type: GrantFiled: May 29, 2006Date of Patent: January 10, 2012Assignee: Commissariat a l'Energie AtomiqueInventor: Raphaël Clatot

Patent number: 8046888Abstract: A yoke assembly includes two support members that are connected to one another, both of which include respective first ends and second ends. The support members are spaced apart enough to fit over existing hardware on a T-adapter at a dead end. In proximity to the first end of the two support members, a connection member is connected to the support members for securing the yoke assembly to the T-adapter. The yoke assembly includes a pole connector, which is pivotably positioned in proximity to the second end of each support member, wherein the pole connector is positioned between the two support members and secured thereto by the second pin. A pole can be secured between the pole connector of the yoke assembly and the power pole, reducing stress on an insulator for removing/repairing the insulator.Type: GrantFiled: November 28, 2007Date of Patent: November 1, 2011Assignee: The Southern CompanyInventor: Stephen Michael Williams

Patent number: 8024850Abstract: A tool for drawing duct sections together is formed of a U-shaped steel section. The center pane of the U has a V-shaped notch that is slipped behind the flanges of duct sections. The V draws the duct sections together as the tool is moved into place. When the tool is in place, a cleat can be inserted over the flanges from the same direction as the tool was installed. Because of the gauge of material used to make the tool, the cleat and the tool both fit behind the flanges of the of the ducts, allowing the cleat and tool to be installed from the same side of the duct. After the cleat is in place, the tool can be removed.Type: GrantFiled: October 5, 2007Date of Patent: September 27, 2011Inventor: Joseph Di Lalla
