Specifically, the tool magnetically affixes temporarily to a fence pipe and offers support for a length of fence rail; especially the ends of adjacent fence rails, so that the rails are supported and level relative to a fence pipe bracket which is affixed to the fence pipe. The rail ends can then be fastened with screws or other fasteners to the fence pipe bracket when desired without further adjustment required.

    Abstract: A gun rivet and a device for placing said rivet are disclosed. The gun rivet contains a rivet head (1) with a collar (3) at one end and a rivet tip (6) at the other. The rivet body contains a cavity (7) in the form of a bore in a sleeve section (22). As with other gun rivets, the gun rivet is shot with a percussive-type action and with the aid of its rivet tip into an opening in two sheets (13, 14) that are to be joined together, until the collar comes to rest on the upper face of the upper sheet. A tensile bolt is then introduced into the cavity and is connected to the base (8) of the latter. This can be achieved by resistance welding. The tensile bolt is then drawn until a rivet head is formed on the opposite side of the two sheets. The tensile bolt is then detached from the gun rivet, for example by shearing. The tensile bolt can be re-used to place another rivet.

    Abstract: A pipe adjustment tool for use in aligning the confronting ends of a pair of pipe sections having a joint therebetween provides a frame having a seating surface for acting against an exterior surface of a pipe section. The seating surface being disposed at a 45-degree angle relative to a threaded bore of the frame. A flexible clamping member is attached to the frame at one end and is a of length to substantially encircle the pipe section. The opposite end of the clamping member is received and secured by a retainer. The retainer and the frame are connected together by an articulated joint formed by a ball-shaped end of a threaded bolt extending through frame and a ball-shaped socket in the retainer. The retainer and frame are movably relative to each other by operating the threaded bolt to provide tension in the clamping member about the pipe section.

In one form, the device is formed as a motorized tool, including a motor (such as an electric motor) and a bit. The motor is coupled to the bit, for example via a rotating collar and/or chuck, so that the motor can drive the bit rotationally. The bit preferably includes a drive ring with internal threads, where the drive ring is adapted (i.e., sized and shaped) so that the internal threads engage external threads on the ends of the conduit sections. The motor can be actuated to rotate the bit, thereby screwing the conduit into a connector. In another form, a bit is adapted for connection to a chuck and/or collar of a motorized drive, for example a prior art threading tool. A method for using a motorized tool to link sections of conduit using a bit or motorized tool is also described.
