Patent number: 8763232Abstract: Weatherstrips (13, 15) having opposed pile sealing elements (226) are installed in opposed slots in a frame member (14) so that the piles may engage opposite sides of a panel, shutter or screen (203), by insertion apparatus having laterally-movable slotted guides (60, 62). The weatherstrips are driven through the slots in the guides by a drive wheel (42). A laterally reciprocating cutter (48) has openings (107, 109), through which the weatherstrips are driven, and shearing edges (98) for cutting ends of the weatherstrips to facilitate entry of the weatherstrips from the slots in the guide into the slots in the frame member. Metering wheel (44) engages at least one of the weatherstrips moving through the guides, and provides for actuation of the cutter, when the desired length of the weatherstrips is driven through the guides; the length corresponding to the length of the frame member which receives the weatherstrips.Type: GrantFiled: April 10, 2012Date of Patent: July 1, 2014Assignee: Ultrafab, Inc.Inventors: Daniel W. Patent number: 8161612Abstract: A broken tee extractor has a bulbous handle portion and a pair of tweezer arms extending downwardly from the bulbous handle portion. A narrow neck extends upwardly from the bulbous handle portion. A platform terminates the narrow neck and is supported by the narrow neck. A tee pulling member is mounted to the platform and a notch is formed between a pair of hook arms. The tee pulling member comprises the pair of hook arms and the notch. The broken tee extractor also has a pair of points disposed on the pair of tweezer arms. The pair of points are oriented inward.Type: GrantFiled: August 7, 2009Date of Patent: April 24, 2012Inventor: Man-Young Jung

Publication number: 20120011690Abstract: A CNC system can include a cylinder adapted to rotate about, travel along, and deliver a force in an axial direction, an extension coupled to a distal end of and extending outward from the elongated component in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction, and a removable fixture adapted to receive the axial force and to be moved and positioned thereby along a plane (i.e., two directions) substantially perpendicular to the axial direction. The fixture has a central opening along the first direction adapted to receive the elongated component, and includes external features adapted to guide manufacturing operations for other manufacturing components. Chamfers on both the extension and removable fixture convert the downward axial force into a plurality of lateral forces that move the fixture against a receiver base. Datums located at guide holes in the fixture stop such lateral movement when the movement causes them to contact guide pins coupled to the receiver base.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 18, 2010Publication date: January 19, 2012Applicant: APPLE INC.Inventors: Daniel Karraker, Thomas Johannessen, Xiao Bing Cai

Patent number: 7926156Abstract: Valve keeper pliers that facilitate the installation of the two-part valve keepers in an internal combustion engine, the pliers comprising jaws and handles with a pivot point therebetween, at least two grasping pins per keeper projecting outwardly from a shoulder stop at a terminal end of each jaw, the pins adapted to abut an outer surface of a keeper, and at least one magnet substantially flush with each shoulder stop for engaging an end of a keeper, the magnet adapted to releasably retain a keeper in contact with its grasping pins while minimizing the magnetic attraction between the pins and the engine, whereby each keeper is retained in contact with its magnets and pins without requiring grip pressure to retain it in place allowing easier insertion of the keeper, particularly in cases where the keeper has more than one retention groove. The jaws are preferably offset from a plane created by the handles to facilitate reaching into the locations where the valve keepers must be installed.Type: GrantFiled: March 9, 2009Date of Patent: April 19, 2011Inventor: Harold Jenks

Publication number: 20100277973Abstract: A phase-change material for use in a phase-change memory device is provided. The phase-change material includes at least one metal and is reversibly phase-changeable, switchable, to a detectable metallic glass state or to a detectable crystalline state thereof. There is also provided a phase-change memory, that includes at least one phase change memory cell comprising the phase change material whereby the phase-change material and thereby the phase-change memory cell is reversibly programmable to one of these states. A method of fabricating the phase-change memory is also provided.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 29, 2010Publication date: November 4, 2010Inventor: Zaven Altounian

Patent number: 7111376Abstract: A tool includes first and second elongated members, each member having a handle portion at one end and a jaw portion at an opposite end. Intermediate portions of the members are movably coupled to one another. Movement of the handle portions opens and closes the jaw portions. Each jaw portion includes a gripping surface configured to grip a workpiece. A pair of blade members are rigidly secured to the jaw portions, each blade member having a cutting edge.Type: GrantFiled: September 16, 2003Date of Patent: September 26, 2006Assignee: The Stanley WorksInventors: Keith M. Patent number: 4567635Abstract: The invention to which this specification pertains represents a new design in cotter-pin extracting pliers, in that the toothed end of this invention is recessed down into the forked end, and the toothed end and forked end are flush with each other, the combination of which characteristics facilitate removal of deeply set pins from shafts and nuts. Another improvement is found in the fact that the pin to be removed is surrounded by the forked end of this invention to prevent slippage. We believe that the extended and upwardly curved upper jaw, unique to our invention, will make possible a tool which will better perform the job of extracting cotter-pins; at the same time, the compact design and the placement of the pivot point make possible a tool requiring a very small amount of space in which to perate, because compression of the handles is the only movement required.Type: GrantFiled: September 4, 1984Date of Patent: February 4, 1986Inventors: Dennis M.
