  • Patent number: 9302380
Abstract: A seat puller removes a valve seat or bushing from a structure such as a fluid pump. The seat puller may be formed of a shaft having a threaded adjusting nut fastening region, a central shaft region, a land region, a cone shaft region and an end stopper region. The seat puller includes a slide lock jaw held onto the shaft at the land region by a spring. The spring permits the slide lock jaw to open slightly and thereby permits the slide lock jaw to slide down the shaft to the cone shaft region. This causes the slide lock jaw to open and engage the internal and bottom surfaces of a seat with its outer circumference, thereby permitting the seat puller to remove the seat from the structure in which it is seated.

Abstract: A tool to assist in the installation of a waste disposer beneath a kitchen sink includes a central, threaded shaft with a flared bottom end supporting a lift plate which is cocked on the shaft so that it may be inserted into the top of the waste disposer. The tool further contains a threaded stabilizing plate which mates with the threaded shaft, and which is inserted and retained in the top of the sink strainer, so that the shaft and lift plate extend through the sink strainer and into the waste disposer beneath. When the lift plate is straightened on the shaft, and the shaft rotated relative to the stabilizing plate, the waste disposer is drawn up until it engages the adapter on the sink strainer, to which it attaches.

  • Patent number: 6446328
Abstract: This invention is a specialized tool to install bearing cups on trucks and other large vehicles. Typically, conventional means to install bearing cups would be to use a device that includes striking the device with a hammer. Such an installation tool could damage the trucks wheel hub or the bearing cup. Other means exist utilizing complex, hard to use, mechanical devices. This invention is a simple, non-impact type bearing cup installation tool utilizing a rod, specialized cap tools, and a wrench. With just a few simple turns, the bearing cups are installed effortlessly and safely.

  • Patent number: 6327769
Abstract: A tool for brake spring maintenance provides the ability both to release brake springs and then hold them out of the way for removal and replacement of brake shoes or for other maintenance operations related to drum brake arrangements. A main support bar is adapted to be received on an exposed wheel mounting member. The bar has a pair of threaded pins and cooperating threaded nuts for controlled axial movement of the pins. The pins have hooked ends and are situated for engaging respective brake springs whenever the tool is properly positioned on the exposed wheel mounting member. By rotating the threaded nuts to move the pins a set axial distance with the pin hooked ends engaged with the brake springs, such springs can be drawn back from their hold on the brake shoes, to permit disassembly and maintenance of the entire drum brake arrangement.

  • Patent number: 6195863
Abstract: A pneumatically operated disc brake piston installation tool is disclosed for use in installing a piston into the piston bore of a disc brake caliper housing. The tool comprises a first piston engaging plate and a second plate positionable against the inside surface of an outer shoe bracket of the caliper housing. A cylinder extends from the second plate. A piston shaft is centrally attached to the first plate and extends perpendicularly therefrom, passing slidably through an opening in the second plate into the cylinder. In response to pneumatic pressure, the piston shaft is pushed outwardly against the piston to force the piston back into the piston bore of the caliper housing.
