Abstract: A tool revolver unit for a machine tool for machining workpieces has a housing (1) and a tool drive rotatable relative to the housing about an axis (3), has a rotary drive (13, 15) for a rotational motion of the tool disk, and has another rotary drive (19, 23). The other rotary drive (19, 23) is a servomotor for controlling a locking device (5, 31, 37) enabling a releasable rotary lock between the housing (3) and the tool disk.
Abstract: A machine may produce a tube having textured internal and external surfaces in a single operation. Inner and outer knurling tools may form the textured surfaces. The texturing of the internal and external surfaces may be helical patterns of ribs and grooves. The height of the ribs formed in the internal and external surfaces may be less than about 35 mils. The angles of the patterns relative to a longitudinal axis of the tube may be less than about 45°. The angle of the helical pattern allows textured tubes to be used as heat exchanger elements wherein flow is directed substantially coaxial to the longitudinal axes of the tubes. The helical pattern formed in the external surface may be oriented in a right hand or left hand helical orientation. Similarly, the helical pattern formed in the internal surface may be oriented in a right hand or left hand orientation.
Abstract: An oil conduit mechanism for spindle head of five-axis machine tool integrates cutting liquid conduit, lubricating oil conduit and braking oil conduit within the spindle head. Those conduits comprises ducts to guide cutting liquid, braking oil and lubricating oil to the processing location for cooling and lubrication. The oil conduit mechanism further comprises a lubricating oil recycling conduit to recycle the lubricating oil for repeated use.

Abstract: A clamping mechanism is provided to prevent movement of the rotatable stock carrier of a multiple spindle bar machine after it has rotated into position for the machining operation. The clamping mechanism comprises a controllable locking pin to engage indexing pin slots on the stock carrier, a passive pressure brake located opposite the locking pin, and a hydraulically actuated pressure brake in the same quadrant as the locking pin. The hydraulically actuated brake clamps the carrier against the passive brake, and in combination with the locking pin holds the carrier against movements caused by the forces of the machining tools. The hydraulic brake is released by a programmable controller to allow intended rotation of the carrier to a new position.

Abstract: Surfacing is realized by fusing refractory alloy rings on the effective areas of valves. The apparatus comprises: a heater, a valve clamping device and a manipulator adapted to receive and to convey a valve with a ring on the stem thereof to the heater zone simultaneously positioning said valve head downwards. The manipulator is operatively connected to a platform on which a feed mechanism adapted to feed the valve to the heater and to the valve clamping device, a sprayer and an unloading chute are mounted. According to the motion of the manipulator the platform alternately positions under the heater the operating mechanisms mounted thereon.
