Abstract: An apparatus and method for both rotating a cylinder about its center axis and translating the cylinder linearly along the same axis. The invention is suitable for X-raying rockets and other cylindrical objects. Multi-axis movement is accomplished by two sets of rollers: rotational and translational. The translational roller set is held in a retracted and unengaged position while the cylinder rests on the rotational roller set. Movement about the axis of the rotational roller set is allowed. When the translational roller set is engaged with the cylinder, the cylinder is disengaged from the rotational roller set, and movement about the axis is not allowed, but linear movement is allowed. The action may be reversed and repeated. The rollers or the cylinder may be powered by motor or manual device.

Abstract: A wrought aluminum sheet product having a textured surface for improved heat transfer properties. A plurality of textured features having dimensions of about 1-50 microns is roll textured onto one or both sides of the sheet. The aluminum sheet may be used as the fins or tubing of a heat exchanger.

Abstract: An assembly platform for supporting the various parts and sub assemblies of a ceiling fan while other parts and sub-assemblies of the ceiling fan are attached prior to installing the ceiling fan. The assembly platform includes a round, cylinder shaped, open-ended, plastic support tube, a fan part support shelf, and a number of insert structures.
Abstract: An improved angle guide for use in directing a first structural member toward a position adjacent a section structural member. The angle guide includes a flange and set screw assembly for clamping to the second structural member. A brace extends from the angle guide for engagement with the second structural member for preventing rotation of the angle guide when it is under load.
Abstract: A fastener such as a rivet, bolt or screw is provided with a protective coating for protection against corrosion and deterioration, formed by application of a mixture of a powdered metallic substance such as powdered aluminum or molybdenum disulfide with a phenol-formaldehyde resin in a volatile carrier from the group consisting of lower alkyl alcohols, methyl ethyl ketone and petroleum distillate, such as toluene or ethyl alcohol, or both, together with strontium chromate and zinc chromate. Either teflon or fatty amido diamine is added to the foregoing mixture. The thickness of the coating after drying can be made very thin and controlled to a high degree and possesses sufficient toughness and lubricity so that it is not damaged even when used on interference type fasteners.
