Patent number: 10022801Abstract: A bracing device for bracing pipe on a pipe machining apparatus may include a mounting portion configured to mount on a support arm of the pipe machining apparatus and may have a continuous loop to capture a portion of the support arm. The mounting portion may be pivotable and slidable on the support arm. The device may include a support portion configured to engage a pipe and having an abutment surface for abutting against the exterior of the pipe. The support portion may have an open configuration to permit the abutment surface to be moved into contact with a pipe in the pipe machining apparatus when the mounting portion is mounted on the support arm. The device may also include a spacing portion extending between the mounting and support portions to maintain the support portion at a fixed distance from the mounting portion.Type: GrantFiled: December 1, 2015Date of Patent: July 17, 2018Inventor: Gregory Devaney

Patent number: 8327515Abstract: A moving-positioning means of belt-fastening apparatus including a head and an anvil plate on which a row of fastener holes disposed, a row of positioning grooves are disposed in one side of the anvil plate; said positioning grooves are parallel to said fastener holes and the spaces of the positioning grooves are identical to those of said fastener holes; and a positioning strip disposed on the head is compatible with said positioning grooves. Since the positioning grooves and the fastener holes are separately disposed on the anvil plate, the positioning strip may be inserted into the positioning grooves to be located when the head moves. Therefore the fastener holes are no longer used for the location, and the movement of the head is not restricted to the fastener holes, which means the head may move in the whole area of the frame no matter whether the fasteners are inserted into the fastener holes or not.Type: GrantFiled: May 16, 2007Date of Patent: December 11, 2012Assignee: Shanghai Goro Conveyor System Components Co., Ltd.Inventor: Yingguang Ren

Patent number: 6842954Abstract: The invention concerns a machine for the chip-forming machining and the measurement of gears and screw-type workpieces. Arranged on a swivel head (6) swivellable about an axis (A) at right angles to the rotary axis of the workpiece (4) are functional units (8a, 8b, 8c, 8d) with machining and measuring tools (10, 12, 14, 15, 17) which are displaceable radially and parallel relative to the swivel axis (A), which said tools can be brought consecutively into engagement with the workpiece (4), thus making possible the application of different tools (10, 12, 14, 15, 17) and machining techniques in the same work set-up without colliding. The work spindle (1) is driven by electric motor either directly or via a gear unit.Type: GrantFiled: July 16, 2003Date of Patent: January 18, 2005Assignee: Reishauer AGInventor: Erich Ronneberger

Patent number: 6832433Abstract: The present invention comprises a machining apparatus including a work piece holder having an adapter body with an axial bore and a translating portion located within the axial bore of the adapter body. The translating portion has a proximal end for coupling with a retention knob collet of a spindle and a distal end for attaching to a collet. The work piece holder includes a retaining piece coupling the adapter body and the translating portion allowing the translating portion to move axially within the adapter body. The apparatus facilitates a rotating spindle grasping and rotating a work piece to be brought into contact with a processing tool held stationary on a work table. The present invention also includes a fixture block for attaching milling tools and other devices to a work table and a method of operating a milling machine utilizing the fixture block and work piece holder.Type: GrantFiled: March 3, 2003Date of Patent: December 21, 2004Assignee: Rockford Products CorporationInventor: Rodney M. Patent number: 5644828Abstract: A device for repairing a cylinder in a printing machine while the cylinder is installed in the printing machine. The device includes a cross slide rail having a base body with longitudinal guides, a longitudinal support slidably mounted on the longitudinal guides, and a transverse support connected to the longitudinal support. The cross slide rail is removably mounted to side walls of the printing machine so as to be parallel to a longitudinal axis of the cylinder to be repaired. A pull spindle is rotatably mounted to the base body and operatively connected to the longitudinal support so that the rotation of the pull spindle moves the longitudinal support along the longitudinal guides of the base body. A tool holder is connected to the transverse support for carrying a tool for working the cylinder. A mechanism for driving the cylinder is also provided.Type: GrantFiled: June 17, 1994Date of Patent: July 8, 1997Assignee: MAN Roland Druckmaschinen AGInventors: Colin Sailer, Paul Harmathy, Eckhard Tusche, Thomas Weissbacher, Heinrich Schoder, Xaver Bachmeir, Johannes Ruschkowski

Patent number: 4982634Abstract: The conventional multiple-spindle automatic lathes are expensive on account of their complicated construction, and the production output and production possibilities are limited on account of the restricted number of work spindles utilized. The novel automatic lathe is to offer higher production outputs and more universal manufacturing possibilities with a simpler construction. The basic structure of an automatic lathe with eight tool spindles (10) for the manufacture of workpieces in eight successive machining stations resides in that, additionally to the number of basic tool stations (1 through 8), each basic tool station, except for the first, is once more included as an additional tool station (2 through 8) arranged in the same sequence of machining upstream of the basic tool stations (1 through 8) so that the total number of machining stations amounts to N=2n-1, a loading and unloading station being provided at the tool station (1).Type: GrantFiled: October 24, 1988Date of Patent: January 8, 1991Inventors: Peter Nagel, Franz Schmid

Patent number: 4750248Abstract: A registration system for flexible printing plates includes a drill apparatus and a registration table which, used in conjunction, makes registration and mounting of flexible printing plates on plate cylinders relatively quick and easy. The drill apparatus includes a table with spaced, opposed drills slideably mounted on tracks in the table to accommodate different plate widths. The registration table includes a guide against which the plate cylinder is positioned and a slideably mounted plate mounting bar to which the flexible plate is pinned. The plate mounting bar is swept parallelly toward the cylinder guide and the plate rolled on to the cylinder, and adhered by double sided sticky tape. The pins affixing the plate to the mounting bar are removed and the remaining plate material rolled on to the cylinder. The process ensures that a selected longitudinal axis of the plate will be in registration, or aligned, with the longitudinal axis of the cylinder.Type: GrantFiled: April 29, 1986Date of Patent: June 14, 1988Assignee: Press Ready Plate, Inc.Inventor: Anthony J.
