And Means To Sever Work From Supply Patents (Class 29/564.6)
  • Patent number: 6256862
Abstract: A coil advance drive apparatus for connector plate coils is described. The coil advance drive apparatus includes a support structure, a motor coupled to the support structure, at least one elongate coil support member coupled to the support structure, and at least one drive wheel operatively coupled to the motor Each drive wheel is configured to engage the connector plate coil stock. The coil support member includes a plurality of grooves extending longitudinally in one surface of the support member The grooves are configured to receive the pre-punched teeth extending from the connector plate coil stock. The drive wheel includes a plurality of teeth extending from a circumferential surface of the drive wheel. The teeth are configured to engage the open slots in the connector plate coil stock so as to move the coil stock along the support member as the drive wheel rotates. An elongate coil guide cover is coupled to the surface of each coil support member above the grooves.

  • Patent number: 6249943
Abstract: Disclosed is an automatic semiconductor wafer applying apparatus capable of lightly easily stacking and loading ring frames onto a frame supply section. This apparatus has the following construction. An adhesive tape unwound from a tape roll is applied to a lower surface of the ring frame supplied to a tape applying position. The applied adhesive tape is cut out along the ring frame. The ring frame having the adhesive tape applied thereto is transported to a wafer applying position. A semiconductor wafer is applied onto the adhesive tape of the ring frame. In this apparatus, a frame supply truck movable with the ring frames stacked and held thereon is arranged so that it can be pushed/transported into and pulled out/transported from the frame supply section. A lift unit for receiving, lifting and supplying a group of ring frames stacked on the pushed and transported frame supply truck is installed in the frame supply section.

  • Patent number: 6226857
Abstract: The balancing of rotors for dynamo-electric machines (e.g., electric motor armatures) is achieved by attaching a balancing strip to the rotor after an impregnation resin has been applied to the wire coils, and the unbalance of the rotor has been measured. To create the balancing strip, a material supply selectively and incrementally delivers a predetermined quantity of material, such that the quantity of material has a mass sufficient to compensate for the measured unbalance of the rotor. The predetermined quantity of material is separated from the material supply to form a balancing mass, and the balancing mass attached to the rotor to compensate for the measured unbalance. A mounting member having a recess may be preliminarily attached to the rotor for subsequent attachment of the balancing mass thereto. A second material supply may be provided such that a controller can select between the first and second material supplies.

  • Patent number: 6206677
Abstract: Apparatus for cutting an indefinite length suture to different lengths for subsequent threading and swaging to surgical needles includes a drawing tower having first and second guide members defining a drawing axis parallel thereto. First and second grippers are provided to grip the indefinite length suture and to alternately draw it along the drawing axis, with each gripper being mounted for reciprocal movement along a guide member. Each gripper alternately grips the suture and draws it a distance beyond the location of a cutter assembly while the other gripper reciprocates to a start position before the cutter assembly. A tipping assembly heats a predetermined small length of the suture to stiffen the suture thereat after subsequent cooling, in preparation for cutting the suture thereat and inserting a stiffened lead cut end of the suture into an end of a needle for swaging thereto.

  • Patent number: 6205655
Abstract: In a method of inserting, into a board, axial-type electronic components, wherein each of the electronic components has a pair of lead wires extending from a main body and belongs to an assembly of electronic components connected by a tape as arranged at regular intervals, the components are grasped with a plurality of chucks which are intermittently moved to a component supplying position and a component transferring position, respectively. Each of these chucks comprises grasping pieces having first and second grasping grooves, the first grasping grooves having inner surfaces for grasping end portions of each of a first kind of the components whose taped portions are of a first tape interval, the second grasping grooves having inner surfaces for grasping end portions of each of a second kind of the components whose taped portions are of a second tape interval smaller than the first tape interval, the second grasping grooves being slightly deeper than the first grasping grooves.
