Abstract: An electronic device housing may contain a display module. The display module may contain layers of material such as a color filter layer and a thin-film transistor layer. These layers of material may be mounted in a display module chassis. A cover glass may cover the display module. The housing may have springs that mate with corresponding holes in the chassis of the display module to hold the display module in place within the housing. The springs may flex about a flex axis that is perpendicular to a planar rear housing surface and the planar layers of the display module. A disassembly tool may be inserted into a gap between the cover glass and housing sidewalls. When the disassembly tool is rotated, a fin on the tool may press against an engagement structure in the spring and may release the spring from the display module.

Abstract: A compression assembly hand tool for attaching a connector to a coaxial cable tool includes a sliding carriage driven by handles through multiple stages of mechanical advantage to provide a very high level of compression assembly force in order to compress large diameter connectors. The middle and the back of a connector are engaged between relatively closely spaced, parallel, and opposed compression surfaces on the front of the tool and on the sliding carriage. Adapter inserts that slide into openings in the compression surfaces allow different connector sizes to be compressed. The tool allows the cable to extend outward from either end so that splice connectors may be attached. In the preferred design, a ratcheting system using two pawls provides the very highest level of compression force.

Abstract: A repair method for detaching a part from a board in an electronic device module having at least the board and the part bonded with the board by a press fitting process. A repair use block having a repair use through hole is placed on the part, and a repair use bolt is fastened with a repair use female thread formed in the part, in advance, through the repair use through hole. The repair use bolt head abuts against the top surface of the repair use block, then is further fastened, whereupon the part is pulled up together with the repair use female thread upward above the board. When a repair use female thread cannot be directly formed in the part, a repair use auxiliary part which is to be pulled up integrally with the part, is interposed.

Abstract: An inexpensive, easy to use, convenient, and effective tool kit and method of use are disclosed for removing broken spark plug components from a cylinder head. The tool kit includes a rigid wire that can be wedged into the central hole of a broken insulator component, allowing withdrawal of the insulator, and a tapered drill that can bite into a broken sheath component, engage the sheath, and break it free for removal. The rigid wire can be angled and/or the tapered drill can include a universal joint, so as to reach inaccessible areas. The method includes inserting the rigid wire into a spark plug hole, wedging it into the insulator central hole, and removing the insulator. Then the tapered drill is inserted into the spark plug hole and pressed and rotated into the hollow sheath to engage it and break it free. Finally, the sheath is removed with the drill.

Abstract: A specialized tool is provided for the removal of components in a microwave module in which a fixed tool having a channeled tip is positioned adjacent the component to be removed. A hot stream of gas, in one embodiment nitrogen, is then forced through the channel onto the top surface of the component to be removed, with the microwave module lying on a heated platen, such that the local increase in temperature at the component to be removed is enough hotter than the ambient temperature of the module as determined by the heated platen to soften the silver epoxy used to mount the component to the module without damaging nearby components. With the fixed tool adjacent the component to be removed and with the component provided with targeted heating, the module is moved against the tool to cause a shear force that moves the component away from its original position, thus breaking the epoxy bond, after which the component is plucked from the module.
