Means To Place Traveler On Ring Or Ring On Bobbin Of A Textile Machine Patents (Class 29/765)
  • Patent number: 5752314
Abstract: A method and apparatus for applying travelers to a ring of a fiber processing machine. A traveler applicator includes a traveler rail on which travelers are urged by a pusher towards a reciprocating traveler tooth. Actuation of a trigger causes the traveler tooth to engage a traveler from the traveler rail and to advance it outwardly for attachment to a ring. Release of the trigger causes the tooth to retract and allows clearance between the tooth and the next traveler positioned on the traveler rail for dispensing. Upon full retraction of the tooth, the tooth advances inwardly to engage the next traveler on the traveler rail. A spring-biased engagement member contacts the traveler to secure it on the tooth. A cartridge having a plurality of traveler-holding rails about its periphery feeds travelers to the traveler rail. Once a cartridge rail is depleted of travelers, the cartridge is rotated such that the next rail having travelers is presented to the traveler rail for dispensing.

  • Patent number: 5417045
Abstract: A traveller changer in which a first operating portion having a tensor for absorbing the slack of yarn passed through a traveller in a ring spinning frame, and a second operating portion having a yarn hooking lever, a traveller removing element and a traveller mounting elements are provided on a carrier unit, the first operating portion being disposed at a predetermined certain height relative to the carrier unit, and the second operating portion being disposed vertically movably in arrowed directions with respect to the carrier unit so that it can follow up the height of a ring rail.

  • Patent number: 5390483
Abstract: A traveler changing method and an apparatus for carrying out the same capable of automatic traveler changing operation for labor saving. The traveler changing method comprises steps of positioning a traveler at a predetermined position on a ring by turning a bobbin in the normal direction with a roller, drawing portions of a yarn extending through the traveler to the ring, removing the traveler positioned at the predetermined position by a traveler removing device, and putting a new traveler on the ring at a position on the ring where the yarn is contiguous with the ring.

  • Patent number: 5303464
Abstract: An apparatus for automated replacement of ring travelers on spinning or twisting rings is disclosed comprising generally a housing having two planar support members, parallel to each other. A lift-out device is pivotably supported in a first of the two planar members and a device for the attachment of a new ring traveler is supported in the second plane, parallel to the first plane. The devices function by guide systems, pivotable by eccentric cams, located on a common drive shaft to be able to move the two devices between an operational and an off position. A housing, containing the two devices, is mobile along a ring rail of a spinning machine. The lift-out device lifts out a ring traveler which is to be replaced from the spinning ring on the ring rail. The attachment device subsequently attaches a new ring traveler from a magazine rod onto the spinning ring.

  • Patent number: 4864720
Abstract: A traveller setter having a main mechanism which includes a traveller holder with a guide on the undersurface of a forward end thereof and a magnet arranged at the upper part of said ring flange receiving seat, a traveller engaging hook at a forward end portion thereof for engaging a traveller held by the magnet with a ring flange, a traveller supplier for supplying travellers to the traveller holder. The main mechanism can be encased in a case when not in use by making the traveller engager slidable by a working pin. This traveller setter ensures accurate setting of travellers on ring flanges and requires no skill in handling.

  • Patent number: 4575933
Abstract: Ring travelers supplied on a magazine strip are transferred to a magazine bar by pulling at the magazine strip in a predetermined direction. At its front end the magazine bar is bent-off at right angles and is tapered in order to form a hook at this location for placing a momentarily preparatory-held ring traveler onto the annular flange of a spinning or twisting ring. The preparatorily-held ring traveler is clamped between the hook and a separator element in a tongue-like manner. The separator element is connected to a housing structured as a handle by means of a pivotable support. To mount the ring traveler at the angular flange of the spinning or twisting ring the handle-like housing must be retracted, and during this retraction the magazine bar which is mounted at a slide is pulled out from the housing against the force of a spring.

  • Patent number: 4373247
Abstract: A tool is supported by a support face on the upper side of a spinning or twisting ring, with a bearing face bearing on the outer edge of the ring. A hook engages by a tip below the inner end of a ring traveller, which is brought into a predetermined position by a permanent magnet let into a support part. By actuating the tool, the hook is moved in the direction of the support face, so that it lifts the ring traveller over the inner edge of the ring. After passing over the inner edge and due to its spring action, the expanded ring traveller jumps into a channel, which leads to a collecting container. With such a removal of the ring traveller from the ring, the yarn drawn by the ring traveller remains undamaged.
