Abstract: A sealing arrangement is provided to close off and seal a gap between undersurfaces of a machine tool installation and a coolant collection channel. The sealing arrangement includes a pair of lengths of sealing hoses inflated with air pressure to close off and seal the gap. The inflated hose seals accommodate the variable gap created by sloping collection troughs to simplify the construction thereof.
Abstract: The apparatus contains a plate (1) which serves as a connecting element between a lower part (2) and also a working table (3) and a tool support (4). In this way a design concept can be realised which enables the manufacture of the apparatus in the form of a modular constructions series.
Abstract: A horizontal hobbing machine comprises a bed, a cutting section provided on the bed and including at least a horizontal rotary shaft and a hob. The cutting section generates a tooth form on a work piece supported around the rotary shaft by means of the hob. A conveyor is provided in a lower part of the cutting section below the bed to remove chips of the work piece resulting from the cutting process.
Abstract: A bottom guard for a machine having a plate with a hinged side pivotably attached to a first frame member of a machine and a catch side opposite the hinged side releasably held near a second frame member by a latching device. The plate holds debris from the operation of the machine and serves as a safety guard. The latching device has a first portion attached to the second frame member and a second portion attached to the catch side of the plate. The two portions of the latching device mechanically interlock and a solenoid actuated mechanism releases them upon a remote signal to the solenoid which allows the catch side of the plate to move by gravity, thereby opening the guard and discharging accumulated debris to a side of the machine. At least one shock absorbing device, such as an elastomeric shock cord, a pneumatic cylinder, or a hydraulic cylinder limits the amount that the plate will swing open when the catch is released and cushions the plate as it falls open.
Abstract: An improvement for the work table of tooling machine comprises a base, a saddle and work table, and a single-bevel or double-bevel telescopic protection at respective side of saddle and work table. The base is located at the lowest position of machine and has horizontal (X axial) slide rails. The saddle is mounted at the base for X axial moving with the help of drive mechanism, and the saddle has longitudinal (Y axial) slide rails. The work table is mounted at the saddle for the drive mechanism sliding longitudinally along the slide rails. The saddle may slide laterally on the base and the work table may slide longitudinally on the saddle, and cutting waste produced during the process is automatically discharged into the collection tank with the help of bevel side of telescopic plate at respective sides of saddle and work table, mutual thrust force and high pressure fluid flush along the bevel side of the plate in order to reach the purpose of automatic disposition.
Abstract: A table (1) revolving intermittently and carrying on its periphery piece-holder grips, has central openings (11), which make possible the discharge of working shavings and wastes at the center of the table itself (arrow 12) and not at the periphery (arrows 7, 7') as now is done. This makes possible direct discharge of the working shavings and wastes in the collection container underneath and avoids clogging and stopping of the machine for cleaning which requires the presence of additional labor and limits production. Nozzles (13, 13') direct fluid radially inwardly to assist in this central discharge of shavings and wastes.
Abstract: A block assembly is adapted to be removably fixed to a vertically disposed way of a machine having systems for automatically supplying lubricating oil to the way and for supplying a dissimilar liquid coolant to a workpiece; the block assembly serving to collect lubricating oil flowing downwardly along the machine way and prevent its contaminating the coolant. The block assembly comprises a multi-sectional block shaped to provide an oil collection reservoir adapted to be placed in flow communication with a separate oil collection tank or sump.
