Assembly, Magnetic, Or Indicia Tool Patents (Class 29/DIG105)
  • Patent number: 5966795
Abstract: A slide mount has a first portion and a second portion. The first portion includes an interior region, an edge, and a slot extending from the interior region to the edge. A cavity is formed between the first portion and the second portion, and extends to the first edge, with a film segment in the cavity extracted therefrom by a film extraction system. The film extraction system includes a piston for disengaging a latch mechanism from the film segment. An extractor arm enters the slot to engage a second perforation in the film segment, and slidably moves within the slot to move the film segment through and out of the cavity toward a roller.

  • Patent number: 5191691
Abstract: An apparatus for feeding slender parts has a feed rod adapted to magnetically hold a slender part on its front end, and a projecting piece formed on the front end of the feed rod for supporting the part from below. In the case of a headed slender part such as a projection bolt, the projecting piece includes a stopper portion for receiving the head and a support portion for supporting the stem portion of the part. When the feed rod is extended until it reaches a predetermined position, the effect of the magnetic force on the part is forcibly nullified, with the result that the part, while rotatively rising, falls under its own weight to fit in a bolt hole or the like in a mating member positioned below.

  • Patent number: 4914940
Abstract: A manifold spreader which includes a main body portion having at its first end portion a recess in which is rotatably disposed a first end of an arm member. The arm member has a manifold engaging member on a second end thereof. A plurality of bearings mounted on the side of the arm member allows the arm member to freely rotate relative to the main body portion. The second end portion of the main body portion houses a screw member having on its first end a manifold engaging member. The body portion has a surface recessed therein to allow a wrench to engage and turn the main body portion. In operation, the apparatus is placed intermediate a pair of manifold arm members such that the first and second end portions of the apparatus are making contact with the manifold arm members. The main body portion is rotated in a first direction, causing the screw member to move outwardly from the central body portion, thus causing the apparatus to expand and force apart the two manifold arm members.

  • Patent number: 4782581
Abstract: A method and apparatus for placing a ferrite core in the slot of a pad of a ferrite head. A circular magnet is mounted below a non magnetic table on a slider slidable along a line. The pad is clamped on the table with its slot exposed and aligned along the line and the center of the magnet. When the ferrite core is placed on the table near the magnet, it stands on edge, aligned along a radial line of flux from the magnet. As the magnet is slid towards the slot, the core follows the center of the magnet, aligned along the centerline of the slot following the radial line of flux. The core slides into the slot and is thereafter bonded to the pad.

  • Patent number: 4723357
Abstract: A marking light, or an attaching-position indicator, for a buttoning apparatus to indicate the position where each button member is to be attached in place, comprises a slender optical pointer member, engaging means secured to the rear end of the optical pointer member for selective engagement with a part of a pusher of the buttoning apparatus, a fixing member for the indicator including a support having means to support the front end portion of the pointer member so as to be movable back and forth with respect to a position immediately below an upper attaching die of the apparatus, release means connected to the engaging means for disengaging the engaging means from a part of the pusher, and means for biasing the pointer member in the direction of withdrawal clear of the upper attaching die. The support is equipped with a resilient engaging means fixed at one end to the fixing member and so disposed as to engage resiliently a part of the support at the other end.

  • Patent number: 4662055
Abstract: A flange alignment tool comprises a body portion having a first, relatively flat surface disposed for abutting engagement with a rear surface of a pipe flange and a second, curvilinear surface adjacent the first surface and shaped for complementary engagement with a curvilinear neck portion of the pipe flange adjacent the rear surface thereof. First and second spaced apart aligning pins extend through the body portion and include projecting flange-engaging pin ends positioned for alignment with an adjacent pair of through apertures in the flange. Resilient springs urge the aligning pins in a predetermined direction for encouraging positive engagement of the flange-engaging pin ends with the through apertures.

  • Patent number: 4611374
Abstract: A check valve integral with the tube and the method of manufacturing a check valve are disclosed. The ball or poppet of the check valve is maintained in position via a magnetic mandrel while the tube is crimped at both sides of the poppet. The tube is inwardly crimped to prevent the poppet from being displaced in either direction and simultaneously to allow flow to bypass the poppet in the desired flow direction. Thereafter the poppet is physically displaced against one of the crimped indentations to coin a seat such that the poppet and the seat coact to prevent flow of fluid in the undesired direction. In this manner, a check valve is formed integrally with a tube without requiring any additional components.

  • Patent number: 4559685
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a piston for internal combustion engines which utilize a core molding or casting system for forming a hollow chamber for the passage of cooling oil therethrough. The manufacturing method includes the steps of preparing a core so as to have at least a first and second foot portion extending therefrom; inserting a bar member made of magnetic materials within each of the first and second foot portions; positioning at least one permanent magnet on a core box; and fixing the core to the core box via the bar members due to the magnetic flux of the permanent magnet.
